Nigeria can never be better than UK. That's my take.

The poor in Nigeria suffer more than the poor in UK.

All in all, go abroad, save as much as you can and start investing in real estate.

Towards the age of 60, come back home and live the rest of your life quietly.

Gays and lesbians. Their business. Good thing is everybody minds their own business, not here that you go go dey look into your neighbour things.

Mass killer? For UK? Abeg, there are more mass killers in this naija. Herdsmen, Bandits, UGM, Police, skull miners, politicians, etc

Boredoms. Socialising in uk is costly so yes, if you are poor, you'll be bored. People in UK make budget allowance for leisure and I can tell you there is many more entertainment in uk than in Nigeria. Just costlier.

Racism.UK is actually not too bad. I have currently more hatred in Nigeria from other tribes than I had in UK. There are layers but all you have to do is look at the strata of the society and make your own way. If Rishi was shouting racism as you are now, he would never had become UK prime minister.

Freezing wether. Makes you appreciate summer more. cheesy

Working conditions. Nobody will force you to work. You are not a slave. If the job is not suitable, leave. You can't die of hunger in UK. Government will give you money and food if you have no income. It is our people that accept nonsense jobs there. That's why they give us nonsense jobs. Indians don't.

Alot of people are travelling from Nigeria to UK this period leaving their high paying and moderately paying jobs to start all over again in UK.considering that UK taxes almost everything you use like 40 percent of your income ,your cars you drive and even tv sets as some Nigerians presently in UK no longer watch TV due to high taxes. Is it really worth going to UK though the UK environment is serene with good security and a functional Gocernment?

They are not primarily leaving because of money making or whatever that has to do with economy.

Nigeria as a country is a ticking time bomb, its better to leave when you can.

There are 1 thousand and one ways to die in Nigeria now, and the Govt doesn't even care because their own family lives in abroad.

And now, remember that politicians are billionaires. So it's not about the money they will make in abroad that makes them to relocate their own family.

It's security and peace of mind.

Don't sell your property to come down to UK. If u can secure leave without pay at your place if work, good for you.
UK is good though they struggling at the moment due to global inflation and energy price.
However, u have to be hardworking to achieve any meaningful breakthrough, UK is not for lazy people- u will get stuck.
Overall look at the bigger picture, get your British passport, invest in real estate in naija, establish your children abroad, and finally come back home in your 60s.
My uncle lives in naija but collects Canadian pension. If he's unwell, all he needs is a plane ticket to Canada. He built couple of estates in Lagos area while he was in Canada and lives on the rent. He's doesn't depend on any children to survive. All his children are well established in Canada and doing fine. Not bad for someone who started as a milk man in Canada.

NB if u know u can achieve all the above easily while working in naija, then I see no point in u travelling out
Just invest in your kids and send them to university abroad. They will pick it up from there.
Ensure u take good care of your health, exercise early in life, go for check up regularly, eat lots of fruits n veggie. Avoid fatty foods.
Nigeria health sector is weak when it comes to managing chronic illnesses- a common problem in old age.

I will be joining my partner in Australia next year.

I sent her there to test waters and she is doing pretty fine.

Search through some UK job websites and see them.

For converting £1k, I don't send directly to Nigeria, I use Lemonade app to send to Kenya (as at last night, I sent Pounds to Kenya at 160 Kenyan shillings to a Pound). So I got 16,000ksh for £100, then send the 16,000ksh to Nigeria via Flutterwave at 6.34 to my Nigerian accoun and received N101,440 for it.

It seems you are of the silly crew.

Like I posted earlier, a N1m monthly salary (which is not even much in the real sense) in Nigeria can not draw my interest......it is way beyond the money.

This is the most silliest stuff i have ever read.

A 1 million salary a month in Nigeria is literally upper class in Nigeria. Easy access to mortgage and car loans if you want. You can also build your own house to your taste.

Ability to travel for holidays and live a good life.

That can't be said for someone living in the uk.

Btw, no caregiver earn 1M naira in a week in the uk. From my understanding, 1m naira is a monthly salary in the uk but that is lower class salary in the uk

Dont deceive people by just posting job ads.

Location matters, if you live in london, you will earn according to living standard there but because of the expensive living standard there, you will spend more.

If you live in less expensive cities, you will also be paid according to the pay range there.

Some carers do earn 1000 pounds per week. In some remote places in UK they get paid 15 pounds per hour especially if it's night shift.
Live in carers get paid 150 per day, with overtime they can easily hit 1000 per week.

One problem with a lot of Nigerians is that they don't really know what they want. Mr A does something, therefore Mr B feels he must do the same.
My advice to anyone considering leaving their job in Nigeira to come to the UK, is first of all do an honest analysis of yourself and your situation. What kind of person are you? Are you the kind who can set a goal for yourself, and work towards it, no matter how hard and rough the road? It takes a certain kind of mindset to make it in the UK. I meet people here working in security or as taxi drivers, I finished my university and moved on, and many of them were still doing those jobs. In the UK you need an Iron will, total focus and be ready to sacrifice to obtain your dreams..
If you are not that kind of person, it may be better to stay in Nigeira and work your way throught the system
In summary the age old doctrine of 'Know thyself' is essential befoe making the choice to Japa or not Japa
