I applaud the Nigerian army for sticking and adhering to its norms and ethics.Otherwise the military will be rendered unorganized and undisciplined just the way the civilian corrupt system has disorganised the public civil service and rendered it a corrupt and most undisciplined government machinery the country had ever known. The average Nigerian most especially the youth of today do not seem to understand the difference between a society without proper ethics and norms and a properly organised society with ethics simply because most of them were born in an era that corrupt politicians are having sway.To most of them corrupt and unethical acts are what they have seen from the time they were born and so to them these are normal acts. The army to me should go further by completely dissecting its members from the social media otherwise the new officers will end up patronising the social media so much that the service will be affected by the lies and lack of etiquette of the social media practice.Long live the federal republic of Nigeria.
The Nigerian Army has ethics and discipline? Then why do their soldiers go on the streets to harass, frog-jump and whip civilians?
Re: Newly Wedded Nigerian Army Officer In Trouble For Posting Wedding Video by GloriousGbola: 10:21am On Nov 27, 2022
this nonsense is going too far

do they want to claim that soldiers NEVER took pictures at their weddings before now?

these clowns need to update their antiquated rulebook

can they claim that when the children of their ogas at he top get married, it does not get to SM?

Okay oh. Next...

It serves the groom and his friends right. Do you know why? Nigerian soldiers abuse military uniform and traditions so much. They use their military uniform and traditions to intimidate and humiliate civilians. The same uniform and traditions they can't use to defeat Boko Haram. A soldier will jumb queue at ATMs without even begging the civilians at the queue. Someone will buy soldiers few bottles of beer and the soldiers will unleash jungle justice on a civilian that has a misunderstanding with the beer buyer.

you raised good points but the military hardly punishes its officers for using their uniform to intimidate civilians. its very possible that they have laws that discourage such, but those laws are hardly enforced.

Well deserved.

Beyond the rules, it's more for the officer's safety and that of his team and family members.

Don't be traceable.
Mask your tracks.

A Lieutenant should know this.

They should amend their laws or ethics. I understand not everyone likes posting on social media but those who wish to do so should be allowed.

the military is unorganised, indisciplined and corrupt. military men feel they are gods and flout civilian laws even go as far as using their uniforms to oppress and intimidate civilians who gave them the authority to put on those uniforms. that is unethical. if they can punish their men for flouting social media laws, why cant they punish their men for their flagrant disregard for civilian lives and laws?

Vipro:
please, is Business education a good course to study in Nigeria university?

Of all the courses in the world why Business education? Haven't you seen or heard about the unemployment in Nigeria?
Before you study any course ask yourself;

1. Where do you intend to work? Gone are the days where people say you can work anywhere. Many of those people who said it or were deceived by it today are roaming the streets without jobs.

2. What is your motivation for that course?

3. Even if you get a job what will the salary look like?

4. What are your prospects if you ever want to japa?

Personally, if my younger one comes up with such a course I'll be very mad with him or her because he is definitely positioning himself to be a liability in the future.

This is a CNBC article showing courses people regret studying abroad, these are places where jobs are not as difficult let alone in Nigeria where jobs are difficult to get and pay is poor. Forget all the religious favor talk, help your destiny. It is better for favor to take you from 100k job to 200k job because you read a course in demand instead of praying favor for a 30k job because nobody needs your skills. Just my 2 cents.

Note: They have faced disciplinary Committee for their ACTION not for the Wedding video. They used their Ceremonial wear which is No 1 Wear for personnel to demonstrate 'Press Up' which is against the rules of the Militry. If its their Camouflage, Fine they can do a Press up but, they used Ceremonial wear which has never happened in the Military.
This news is an old news. Today is 27th and this happened last month.
Meanwhile, Nigerian Army is rated the best disciplined Army in the whole world. You can't do anyhow.
