And that's why you're where you are; you willfully lower your bar to the latrines. Very incapable of bigger ambitions. Plain and bland outlook to life..
Someone said I have to appreciate what I got, as if the governor did the project with his money.

Other countries are building modern roads, bridges with provisions for fast speed train tracks and other possible new technological additions to make cities more habitable and we are here celebrating pure concrete!

You saw Qatar during the world cup, you don't like what you saw?

Enjoy

Do you know the reasons the Asians are constructing bridges the way they do? Must everything be aesthetic for you people, the only thing that concerns me and should concern you is if the government over budgeted for the bridge and not childish thinking that types of you are used to,wean that mongrel complex of your mind and value what you have, make inferiority complex nor kill una for the country.

If this bridge was wider than this, you would have said why are they building empty bridges everywhere grin
Just like you guys said about the 10 lanes road that was commissioned last September.
And who told you that this is Uyo or did the OP say that this bridge is in Uyo

This bridge and road project started during Yar'dua's administration but was later abandoned. Gov. Udom Emmanuel picked it up and completed the bridge with the 19km road.

Well done Udom Emmanuel, you're a silent achiever indeed!

owobokiri:
If I talk now, they will say I'm hating. But this kind of bridge designs are almost a century old! Come to Asia and see futuristic bridges and roads. It's even saddening when you compare prices and find out that they are building inferior roads and bridges with bigger amounts used to build better modern ones in Asia! Even the much dramatized second Niger bridge. No glamour, no glitter! Just some mundane designs with no futuristic intents.

This very bridge is supposed to be wider than this! Population in places like Uyo and Calabar are bound to explode in the near future as restructuring and business growth helps other Nigerin coastal cities to pick up more economic activities. Coastal cities like Warri, Calabar and Uyo should avoid the the mistake the Lagos State government is making by building endless bridges all over the place!

Instead of being another Lagos that is going to build a dozen bridges from the mainland to the island, why not build a big wide bridge that will still serve the increasing population in the future, without forcing the government then to use scarce state resources to start off another bridge?

You're a silent achiever not like those noise makers.

May God Almighty continue to bless AKS with patriotic, hardworking, smart, intelligent, visionary, committed, and very dedicated leaders.

When I made mention of this some fools were saying I was being ungrateful. Nigerians politicians Rob us daily and make us feel they are doing us a favour.

Money that would be used to build a modern bridge is what is being used to build a a century old looking design bridge. Pathetic.

We don't care what your Governor built, or what Wike is doing, so don't bother telling us.

When our Governor delivers on his campaign promises our people commend him cos we are living in a country where politicians do not keep to their promises after winning the polls.

I like Udom for one thing; He doesn't commission uncompleted projects. His projects may take time, but once he says this project is completed, it is 100% completed. Not like his predecessor that was busy commissioning uncompleted projects around the state grin

The level of work Udom has done in ONNA alone can never make any good person hate him, except that person is a witch,
from roads to bridges to factories (Syringes factory, plywood factory, electric meter factory, kings flour mill, etc.)

What Udom has done in ONNA, even Akpabio could not do in his Essien Udim so stop lying cos you're not from ONNA.

The economic blueprint of Gov. Udom Emmanuel is simply the best and only short-sighted, daft, and nonentities don't appreciate him.

Udom has created more jobs than any AKS governor since the creation of AKS.
Udom has attracted more industries to AKS than any other governor since the creation of AKS.
Maybe he makes you poor by not throwing money in the air for people to fight and wound themselves as the case used to be grin

Governor Victor Attah was the one who laid the infrastructure and financial foundation of AKS and not Akpabio, we who were there know this.
Was it Akpabio that fought for the 13% derivation

Akwa Ibom State University, Ibom lPP, Ibom hotel, the airport, roads, schools, hospitals, bridges, and urban renewal and green spaces projects were all initiated by Obong Victor Attah, so stop spewing trash here.

Below are the roads that Gov. Udom Emmanuel commissioned last year September and you Nairalanders were busy complaining why he had to build such a wider road when there's no traffic in problem in the State.

Here again you complainants are spiting fire again.
if you consider an 11 meters wide road to wider enough for use in these areas you then you forget it
.
tempest01:

Spot on. It pains me to see even the roads. In virgin areas where they can make it futuristic and able to cater for an exploding population. They will build one small narrow nonsense. And people will build houses around and much later there is no room for expansion, no drainage, no space that could be used for trains, trams, buses etc. People with zero vision.
