SKIBiNSKI: Nope. Patient will be on medication for life after removing thyroid gland. Thyroid gland is a vital hormone gland. It helps to regulate many body functions by constantly releasing a steady amount of thyroid hormones into the bloodstream. When thyroid gland is bad as a result of organ malfunction (hyper/hypo-thyroidism; autoimmune disease) or some unreversible damage, it is been removed. The person will need to be taking a medication for life, which will supply hormones that are meant to be released by the thyroid gland. Thyroid hormones plays major role in metabolism, growth and development of the human body. 2 Likes |

pretzee: This is the second time I tried to correct you, but you only argued and replied me insolently. That's not a trait of a sanctified believer. From your response alone I know the part of Nigeria you come from. You exhibit their tribal traits, NOT Jesus traits. You hate to be corrected as if you already know everything in life and about God. You need to ask God to forgive you the sin of lying, exaggeration and comparison you committed in your post. Apostle Paul said only babyish Christians say "I'm of Pastor Mouka, I'm of Apollo." How can a humble, holy Christian say what happens in Lord's Chosen does not happen anywhere else on Planet Earth? You need to grow in grace. You're childish and carnal too. God bless you. Shalom. |

Phils:Right, my son has a thyroid problem, he has been on levothyroxine (medicine) since he was diagnosed 10 years ago, his mother tells me that if he has the thyroid taken out that he would not need the medicine anymore. I would like him to stop the medication co's it makes him put on alot a wait. He is overweight at the moment. |

Gospel2Day: Point of correction: Look at the moniker you are quoting properly and read properly your response to righteousness2. You are also guilty of what you accused him of doing. From your responses so far, you don't sound Jesus-like. Maybe your own Jesus is tribalistic. I don't know what my tribe has to do with this. You don't practise what you preach. You are here condemning someone while yours is even worse. Remove the log in your own eyes before removing the speck in another person's eye. I sense pride in you. Humble yourself and learn. N.B: Do not quote me again. I leave you to your folly. Ciao 1 Like |

pretzee: Sorry, I meant the reply to the Lord's Chosen propagandist. But you let your tribal sentiments influence your response to me I have related well with folks from your end, so I'm speaking from experience I have your tribespeople as my next plot neighbours and what I have observed about you people is being loud, arrogant and pugnacious. My tribefolks too have ours and I won't dislike anyone who points our flaws out. Your defending righteousness2 does not make my point untrue. I have no business with you in the first place. Shalom. |

Righteousness2:I hate the way y'all use God. So if she goes and is not healed, then she has no faith. |

SKIBiNSKI: Sorry about that. Sure you are consulting an Endocrinologist, specifically. An underactive thyroid is mostly a life long condition. Levothyroxine is taken in cases of hypothyroidism. There is another medication for Hyperthyroidism. Levothyroxine is stopped only when the gland regains it's normal function. Dosage of Levothyroxine depends on the level of thyroid hormones in the body. Periodic Thyroid Function Test will be required. The increase in weight has to do with distortion of body metabolism, which should be normally regulated by the thyroid hormones. There is a therapy that records some success. If you happen to be in Nigeria and Abuja, I will recommend a Specialist. You can as well read about radioactive iodine therapy. God heals. Wish you Baby well. 1 Like |

Phils:Thank you very much, you sure knows what you are talking about, everything you said sounds absolutely familiar. Yes, he does have periodic thyroid tests, every 6 months. His thyroid specialist explained to me recently that his weight isn't as a result of his medications (levothyroxine) i even beacuse of his weight changed the medication from liquid to tablets as the liquid one tasted sugary. I just worry he will have to be on this medications for life apparently. Will he ever be off this medication without consequencies? I mean, will he ever function normally without medications? He has also being diagnosed with spectrum autism, apparently spectrum autism are ussualy associated with thyroid disorder, is that true? No, i don't live in nigeria, if did, woulda tried to locate you to get further infor, on this issue. But i would like to keep in touch if that is okay.. if there is anyway i can contact you i would apprecaite that. Thanks, i don't mean to be ungrateful but i don't quite believe in God heals. i am religious. Do you think that the medication is responsible for his weight? Partially perharps? |
