You can't be a manufacturing power house if you can't fix power situation, access raw materials, have a booming steel industry.

All these are not in place. This news is just propaganda like ogoni clean up. You can't learn to fly by crawling.

Ignoramus. In vehicle production, ''assembly'' and ''manufacturing'' mean the EXACT SAME THING.

Not one iota of difference.

In fact car manufacturing plants across the world are called ''car assembly plants''.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_automotive_assembly_plants_in_the_United_States

ALL vehicles are built the same way. You gather the parts from a variety of sources in and out of your country, and then ASSEMBLE them in your car plant.

Nigeria is a fast rising vehicle manufacturing powerhouse, churning out tens of thousands of vehicles per annum.

INNOSON Vehicle Manufacturing, IVM, sources over 75% of its components locally here in Nigeria, which means that Nigeria has genuine indigenous technical capacity in vehicle manufacturing.

"Nigeria is a fast rising vehicle manufacturing powerhouse, churning out tens of thousands of vehicles per annum"

Go and take Amatem if it's because of Innoson that Nigeria has become a vehicle manufacturing powerhouse. And make sure you always consult your dictionary before deploying certain words and phrases.

Serving food already cooked by someone else is a totally different skills-set from preparing and cooking the food yourself.

You obviously have no idea of what you are talking about.

If you want to “manufacture” them you dismantle and learn then design your own, patent it.
You start making efforts towards meeting laid down safety standards.

In conclusion, a simple “General operative” (secondary school level education with ability to read and follow a manual) is all you require in assembling.

For manufacturing: aeronautic-engineers, electrical engineers, AI & robotics are minimum.

Quintopia:

Use your brain. Did you not read the article?

They ARE starting with local assembly of aircraft, which is the right and proper place to start.

Nigeria should put there money where their mouth is. All these unnecessary white elephant projects are just means to keep wasting money when we are still battling with basic amenities as a country.

The Dangote Refinery and the newly renovated Port Harcourt refinery are equipped to produce Jet fuel, or aviation fuel.

Use your brain, and follow the news before injecting your ignorance and negativity.
anything they talk ur own na to defend. U think say u like this country pass others?.or na APC u dey indirectly they promote.
Country that cannot generate common
electricity, good road, good hospital, good school, no refinery and what more.
Not even bicycle producing company, suddenly want to start manufacturing aircraft and u think it I'd normal.

Sorry, but I will take the knowledge and expertise of seasoned Nigerian aeronautical engineers, professors and scientists at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology Zaria, on how to proceed in our task of developing aircraft manufacturing capacity, over the spiteful words of some faceless internet nonentity any day of the week.

Nigeria is not a communist country where govt is responsible for everything. The private sector has a very big role to play in building this economy. The 12 billion dollar Dangote refinery is among the world's largest, and is a Nigerian asset.

You are an ignorant dunce of the first order. There are poor and hungry people in Brazil, India, Pakistan, China, and even the United States, and it hasn't stopped them from innovation and scientific development, building aircraft and even space vessels, which have provided employment for their people and helped raise living standards.

If you had a working brain in your head, you would be looking to capitalize on the fledgling aircraft industry by setting up a manufacturing of specialised aircraft parts that will feed the new industry.

Tomorrow a Chinese or Indian will enter here and start doing it, while a lazy dunce like you will be on Nairaland typing rubbish out of your anus.

For u to support APC already shows the dumbness in u is like MTN .... what's the hunger per capita in those country u mentioned compared to Nigeria?? Studen wey de repeat class anyhow for primary school de talk say im wan right Jamb

You expect food to fall from heaven unto your lap?

What stops YOU from going into power supply business to help meet that 'need'?

Do you know that your juniors are making a killing supplying off-grid power to Nigerians today?
