Right off the top of my head, I can come up with at least 8 Advantages. . .

1) We don't have to work too hard to make something of ourselves. . .why should we when we can blame all our problems on witches and wizards (Life on the easy street baby!!)

2) We don't have to sweat too hard to be celebrated, the little effort we put in anything is celebrated because no one expects anything from us in the first place (A life without the burden of expectations. . .how cool is that?)

3) When people say we are lazy, we can reply with righteous indignation that we've been praying. (Can you top that? Huh? Huh? Yeah, that's what I thought)

4) We are fortunate to breath the same air as a lot of men who have direct access to God (Life as a VIP is the Bomb)

5) We're obviously better than everyone else because an average Nigerian has more enemies than an entire country (Jealousy Jealousy!)

6) We are so far down. . .the only other direction we can go is up (In your face! America!!!)

7) We're one of the few countries (don't want to say only country before the haters pounce on me) with our own special security checking rooms at major international airports (Special People in da 'ouse)

8 ) We don't need to carry weapons like other nationalities, all we need to do is say we're Nigerians and people back off (Respect y'all, Respect!)

Goodness, now I see why we are the Happiest people in the world!!!

I was going to try typing a positive spin on something that came to mind, but after reading your post, my hands no gree me type am again . . .

The advantage is opportunity abound,with loads of debris to clear,loads of reforms to make,loads adventures to undertake and loads pace to set. It is like a virgin land on the brink,like a half full glass.

Advantage of being a Nigerian?

HONESTLY,NOTHING IN THE WORLD IS LIKE THE FEELING OF BEING A NIGERIAN. DESPITE ALL NAIJA PROBLEMS,I ALWAYS INTRODUCE MYSELF AS A NIGERIAN. I EVEN PLACED LITTLE NAIJA FLAG INSIDE MY CAR HERE IN UK.

IF I AM TO COME BACK TO THIS WORLD AGAIN,I LL DEFINITELY COME AS A NIGERIAN.

The advantage of being a Naija:
1. You can save some money living in the UK without light and surely won't feel it because we are used to UP NEPA!! (Never Expect Power Atall-atall)

2. You can have driver's licence without knowing where to put key in a car, Even a blind man in Nigeria has one

3. If you have the money, you can employ driver, cook, gardener, gateman, Ekaite to back up madam when madam is temporarily unavailable

4. You can graduate from University with 2.1 but still can read and write properly because with money you will pay people to read and write on your behalf

Those are the few I can remember

Best thing about being nigerian is coming on nairaland and watching posters make a f, ool of themselves with their bigotry,tribalism,religious zealotry,sexism and downright unabashed hatred and disdain for each other .
