To postpone political restructuring of Nigeria is the reason behind the north's insistence to lead the forthcoming National Assembly.
Northern military dictators restructured Nigeria politically to the advantage of the far northern region through proliferation of mostly non viable states in the far northerner region, through which the region draws undue and overwhelming political representation to the central government, including the in National Assembly.
Land mass or population figures is never used as criterion to proliferate too many new federating units in a region with larger land mass or population in a federating country formed by diverse regions.

In as much as I detest tinubu, he will set a new agenda for political traditions in Nigeria. Before northern caucus would taste that seat again, they'd almost prostrate to the south. Tinubu would make sure only his loyalist become the next president which was the fear of many in the northern apc members . They quite saw tinubu there before they picked Ahmed Lawan. Had he not fought so hard with everything , including dollar rains( which ordinarily should have been a unanimous decision at their convention without any known opposition at the primaries given his support for Buhari), tinubu would have lost out completely.

I don't think the north should feel bad if the positions of president, senate president and Chief Justice are held by the south come June 2023; afterall these positions were held by the North in June 2015.
