Justice Omotosho said he took the punitive measure “in view of the avalanche of frivolous suits” that have been filed by lawyers.

While accusing the plaintiffs of wasting judicial time of the court by filing the suit which he described as an abuse of court process, Justice Omotosho held that the legal action was in bad faith as it was aimed to expose the judiciary to ridicule.

He threatened to refer the lawyers that helped the plaintiffs to the suit to the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee for instituting an action “capable of dragging the judiciary to the mud.”

God bless the judiciary

they are not educated, they are not intelligent, they are blind by hatred, only today, 40 million awarded to Tinubu by the court of appeal from one failure who lost an election in 2019, another 10 million awarded against Atiku, and another 18 million from this federal high court

Which ones remain?

Are you seeing that judge providing alternative meaning to his decision by saying doing otherwise would destroy the country. And he cannot do what they want for fear of putting the judiciary in a ridicule? What's more important, a ridiculed judiciary or Nigeria becoming a failed state.

All I have to say is to advise other nairalanders to go collect their inauguration clothes from their tailors and be ready for Monday just as I'm ready.

Consequently, Justice Omotosho dismissed the suit and awarded a cost of N10m in Tinubu’s favour, N5m in favour of the APC and another N1m to be personally paid by counsel for the plaintiffs, to each of the respondents.

Even USA didn’t halt her inauguration!

No country would try such!

Inauguration does not affect court matter! Just present your matter to court and they’ll decide!

I don't expect this judgement to go otherwise, however, the presidential election petition tribunal is a different ball game. Tinubu would be removed once it is proven that he did not actually won but was rigged in by INEC and nothing will happen.

I think that they felt they could use the courts to pull another M.K.O Abiola stunt on the Yorubas. But once beaten, twice shy. The courts cannot be used anymore to truncate this democracy

Congratulations Asiwaju.

Nigeria is not Kenya,

It would take another 100 years for a Presidential election to be nullified around here.

Even if the Chairman of INEC is caught snatching all the ballot boxes, for the sake of national interest and security, the results must stand.

The motto here is, "win first and let's go to court, just win first"
Just like in USA too. cheesy

Na so o. The problem with them is that they don't digest issues before they come online. I said it that PDP would loose at the supreme court bcoz:

Shettima only participated in one primary for Senate.

Tinubu picked him for VP, he did not contest for it.

Now Lord Justice in the judgement said "PDP failed to show evidence that Shettima contested for VP"

That's the truth.

It's a shame to Reuben Abati

It's a shame to Rufai Oseni

It's a shame to all Arise TV Crew members and their organization.
