This price is for Obidients, Agbadorians will buy theirs here

Disturbing news just emerged that fuel price has increased again to 618 per litre. The worst is that this price is what NNPC is selling! Independent marketers usually sell higher.

How are Nigerians, particularly workers on fixed salary going to survive? Before now, some workers in Lagos and Abuja often spend as much as 3,000 to 4,000 daily on transportation. It's even pathetic to note that these workers mostly earn less than 100,000 monthly.

If you're a worker in Lagos or Abuja, or other Nigerian cities, how are you surviving?

Something needs to be done urgently either by those in authority or those at the receiving end. Obviously, we can't continue like this!!

The Nigerian Labour Congress needs to shut down the nation.

The best that can be done by His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) is to increase the minimum wage.

Anything short of that is invalid!
Shut down what!!!.....we had our chance to do what is right by voting competence but we rather choose to vote base on tribal and religious sentiments.
Pls pls pls spare us this shut down nigeria and protest talk.
Let's take what comes out from the government and wait for the polls in 4years time.
As for me and my family nobody is hitting any street for protest.

The price of fuel would eventually come down, I saw this move since last year. Regardless of who won the last election, they had to remove subsidy, watch the price go up, wait for Dangote to come on board in some months, and then see the price drop. Dont ask me how Dangote would afford to sell at below market prices, but I know Dangote was never going to flag off sales from his refinery if subsidy was ever still in place. Eventually we would progress, but we would have to take so tough decisions in the process.
In Nigeria?😄😄😄
Btw the way you guys keep yapping about that dangote refinery is amusing
That refinery is a PPP
It's not charity
And it's only one refinery
Texas alone has more than 50 refineries

Yeah, like what happened when telecoms was deregulated and government started receiving taxes and licensing fees from the private companies instead of sinking money into inefficient NITEL?

How long did it take for Glo to crash the prices of telecoms services? 11 years, which is the time since the Ojota protests

I'm really struggling to see the similarity between the issue in discuss and the analogy you painted.

For a start the telecom industry was never subsidised and NItel services prior to the advent of the GSM were hardwired connections with very obsolete equipment.

Talking about how GLO crashed the price of Communication, that notion is just a fluke... what they did was introduce per second billing platform...and the credit goes to full deregulation of the sector which brings about healthy competition amongst industry players and that is what the government of the day intends to replicate in the Petroleum industry.

What you should be critical about should be the lack of safety nets put in place to mitigate the impact of the subsidy removal and not the policy itself.

The full deregulation done by Atiku’s privatisation programme, which was rejected by pastor Tunde Bakare, Femi Falana, Femi Kuti, and other protesters in January 2012 for petrol prices

The opinions and expressions of those persons you listed are their prerogative and the democratic process fully accommodates that..however their views and expressions does not represent the generality of opinions of the citizens.

Given the anticident of Nigerians I wouldn't be surprised you shared similar views with them back then.

I didn’t then, and I don’t now because I am not a befuddled communist/socialist but a convinced capitalist who believes that governments should not be in business.

If Tinubu could govern the richest state in Nigeria and his biggest achievement was leaving behind a plan for his successors, nobody should expect anything from him.

I live in Lagos, but I thank God I work remotely and online too. Before now, I'd budget 11k for 50-litre PMS for my gen per month. Now, 12k cannot even fill a 25-litre Jerry can. However, electricity has significantly improved - probably because we are in rainy season.

Please can you link me up with your remote job?

I m sure you are conversant with the cliche "the one-eyed man is the king in the land of the blind". WE all travel and see whats basic elsewhere, but sadly this is Nigeria where corrupt is rapt and tribalism is a thing of pride. So, if "they" can get Dangote's Refinery to run successfully I believe thats the right tiny little step in the right direction.

Exactly `This is what one gets when someone with a single-digit IQ is made President.

Tinubu has proven he is a fool. Obasanjo, Jonathan and Buhari didn't dare remove subsidy because they all know that without working refineries, removing subsidy will destroy our economy. So, they kept postponing it to buy time. But what did Tinubu do? He instantly removed subsidy on his first day in office. He thought he is wiser than those before him and wanted to show them how tough he is to do what they all couldn't do.

It's even more tragic when you consider that Tinubu is largely seen as an illegitimate president. He is currently the most unpopular president in history of Nigeria.

Naira will continue to slide against dollar going forward and fuel price will continue to rise, so what then can Tinubu do now to save the economy from collapsing completely? Nothing!

Either way you look at it, the old man is toast.

What exactly are you all about, FarahAideed? Why didn't your beloved party and presidential candidate agree to step down since he has tried his luck with the northern slot? The SE served PDP for 24 good years and what did they get in return? Scorn and other negative vices... Obi was the best candidate PDP would have produced and many persons, even first timers, were ready to vote him in provided PDP gave him the ticket. People even had 1m March across the 36 states and capital for Ọbi but you all threw that into the sink.

LordAdam16:

Take cover! They're coming for you!

-Lord
It's not about coming for him, he's being dishonest. We all agree there's an unwritten rule in PDP about ticket zoning but they went against that and now, he's not blaming Kwankwaso or the so called G5 or Chimaroke or other PDP stalwarts but decided to focus his venom on Ọbi. That doesn't make sense.

BTW, welcome back!

The more money you make, will you soak it in water and be drinking it? Won’t you use it to buy other things that are expensive for your needs?

Or are you an island to yourself?

Who are you trying to spite here with your igb0 business mentality?

Who told you other tribes don’t make money? Other than your druuuuugs money, I don’t see other tribe that doesn’t make what your ober-hyped 3ribe makes. Go to the north and see how they make cool money.

Gasoline generation are now converted to use LNG. Why aren’t same done to vehicle, this time should have been sponsored by the government at least on public transport vehicles to reduce transportation cost??

We aren’t just serious in this country.

Bros God bless you. Obi put us all into this mess. But his people won't agree. Obi, I said right from when he came out to contest, was sponsored by Tinubu. How Obi believed he would win a formidable and evil fortified party like APC baffled me.
Secondly Obi saying he would remove subsidy led to Tinubu not thinking at all before removing subsidy. To him he is doing what Obi said he would do and Nigerians will be happy with him.
U guys have no shame, a Fulani man presided for 8 years and you want to follow up the rot with another known thief , tribe aside, keep deceiving yourselves, even CFA has outperformed naira but the common enemy is Igbo, spits

He promised to remove subsidy but it was in phases. PDP will never take anti-people policies down the citizens' throats without a measure unlike APC (which is why I will never vote for that accursed party called APC).

If you continue to lie over things that are glaring to all, then you Obi supporters are no different from APC. Watch that vlip of Obi talking about subsidy.
