4. The 1% transaction fee is charged to the merchant. However, the burden of paying Interswitch's transaction fees and that of other gateways have been passed on to the buyer. What this means is if you pass a transaction of N5,000 to Eyowo, Eyowo in turn passes N5,076.14 to Interswitch (after duly informing the buyer) such that when the 1.5% transaction charge is taken off, exactly N5,000 is returned to Eyowo from which we now take out 1% and remit N4,950 to the Merchant's bank account. poo, that means, total fees is about 2.5% Also, i want to ask, since all these mastercard, visa card are being accepted outside the country, why can't we use those other payment gatewayS? |

I love this thread so much. I read every single post, right from the first till here, and am so glad the way Nigerians are so protective of our internet future. Personally, I am building a Buyer-Protection e-commerce payment site, and I intend using NairaMan.com but my model is entirely different from Eyowo's. Nevertheless, From this thread, I have made several observations and noted some key points of utmost importance to running a payment site. Well mine is more of an escrow, and For now the only challenge I have is that of the huge security deposit this may require but I will try nevertheless. My advice to Eyowo Team is to diligently take a note of every issues raised here no matter how distasteful it sounds. Nothing is impossible! If you pull this off, you will be one of Nigeria's best, and hopefully richest. |

Good job everyone who has contributed. This is incredible, a few years back, this thought line ended in people's heads. I have a question for eyowo, im inclined to use an open source cart for my online shop (which is PHP/MYSQL based) your integration process as seen on you site is mainly html, how are you or do you plan on dealing with this? or is there a patch for php that im unaware of? i got referred by stylerebirth merchandiser so im biased. but please make this possible to integrate with these ready made shopping carts, if you already have, let me know, tanks tanks |
