The truth is many drone strikes have a lot of collateral damage. Many US drone strikes in Pakistan killed and injured men, women and children. The full picture is never given.

Since the deed has been done, it would be a welcome development if the victims are compensated. In Northern Nigeriaa, a man can have as many as 30 children. The death of the breadwinner can lead to a lot of suffering.

Collateral damage you say. So the civilians were the collateral damage?! All well and good.

Now can you tell me how many targets were eliminated in the process? If none, there was no collateral damage either but a deliberate act to kill the civilians or the acted on wrong intel and indeed made a mistake.

One cannot help but question the integrity of the armed forces, and their contradictory statements raise serious doubts about their credibility and transparency.

It is particularly distressing to witness the recurring trend of Maulud celebrants being targeted for violence. One is compelled to ask, why is it that those who gather to commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) are subjected to such unspeakable acts of brutality? Is there a clandestine conspiracy between certain elements within the Nigerian Army and religious sects who vehemently oppose the celebration of Maulud? These questions demand answers, and the truth must be unveiled.

Equally concerning is the deafening silence from the Nigerian National Assembly, scholars, and elites in the face of these recurring attacks. Their lack of condemnation and failure to address this grave issue raises doubts about their commitment to justice and protection of the rights of all citizens.
