Most Nigerians, especially of the major tribes have this culture where they do not get bothered by anything that happens or represents their country either good or bad.

They just carry on with hustle no matter the circumstances or conditions.

This attitude and approach to life is a big culture letback.

When you unbothered ,you will lack the drive to make changes.

Nigerians have this adaptability mentality, hence they groan for less than a week, find a way of coping, move on, and groaning in silence.

With this indeed, the country cannot move forward because when they're supposed to voice out, they're like, "That's how they normally do. GOD will judge them."

It's the upbringing with a mixture of subservient Christianity and Backwards Islam that has made the place this way....as well as a lack of appreciation of the history of the various tribes and kingdoms that predated the enslaved formation of "Nigeria"...

That's not true, it's mainly the minority tribes that are usually silent.
No one hears their voices they tend to sit on the fence. For instance, the middle belt regions facing unnecessary killings are not that vocal.
It's only the Igbos that are highly vocal in the country and it's still those from minority tribes that will accuse them of claiming victimization and being loud mouth.
It's better the each region manage themselves, so that those who love being silent should continue.
The Igbos have been subjected to a lot issues as a result of them being vocal.

Like these two above have said, Nigerians adapt to unfavorable conditions and become comfortable with them. We either seem to believe that things cannot be changed by us and that governments can do whatever they like, or that it's all fated.

Our religious backgrounds make it impossible to for us to stang against authority for fear of going against God's command to respect authority. We have become so used to hardship that we become proud of it and refer to those who aren't having it as bad as we as weaklings.

Another factor is the fact that Nigerians are overly sentimental. People will persevere through hardships if their tribal men and/or women are the ones inflicting them with hardship. There'll comfortably accept whatever comes as long as their tribe is in power. It's quite unfortunate.

When I served in Calabar...meeen it was worse...these people know that things were not working well in their state but for whatever reason they just couldn't bring themselves to blame the government.

Not surprising that their former governor used big big grammar to befuddle them for straight 8 years! Without a whimper from any of them.

It's a crazy culture.
