abdeefggh: As if liberalism has favoured blacks. 🙄 The Conservative Party has produced the first non-white prime minister, non-white exchequer, female prime minister and non-white home secretary. So-called lovey-dovey ethnic minority Labour Party hasn't done the same 🤣🤣🤣🤣 1 Like |

chiefolododo: Equatorial Guinea has a higher GDP per capita than China. Does that make the country richer or prosperous or productive than China? Per capita is just GDP divided by population. Actual GDP, GDP growth rate, unemployment rate, percentage of manufacturing to GDP and HDIs are better metrics. |

SoNature:If you know anything about GDP, then you would know that the average British worker is much more productive than the average Chinese. 33 million workers created a GDP of $3 trillion in UK while it took 768 million workers to create a GDP of $18 trillion. Please who is more productive. |

SoNature: And China that has 18T has how many mouths sharing the figure? UK 3T is shared by only 80m people, so who is richer? GDP is the most useless economic metric as many have seen, always use GDP per capital. Useless countries like us always talk of GDP because it only talks of total wealth and not individual wealth. That's why Nigeria is not in the list of top ten richest countries in Africa despite our big mouth |

emmyclassic: Maybe follow your own advice. Most of those brands are foreign owned and they are niche brands. Tata Motors (India) owns Jaguar/Land Rover. Bentley is owned by Volkswagen (Germany). BMW owns Rolls-Royce (Germany). My overall point (since you cannot see the forest for the trees) is that China has a significant manufacturing base while the UK does not and has been on the path of de-industrialization for the 50 years. Everyone on this forum uses or owns something made in China. Very few use anything made in the UK. |

BMW owns Rolls-Royce (Germany). Even if they were UK owned that would not negate my point. The UK does not have the abundance of raw materials that China and many African nations enjoy. It's the very reason why they went on the rampage many centuries ago, stealing everything they could. China has a significant manufacturing base while the UK does not and has been on the path of de-industrialization for the 50 years. Everyone on this forum uses or owns something made in China.
