Tinubu Signs Executive Orders On Oil, Gas Reforms by Paraman: 7:42am On Mar 07
President Bola Tinubu has approved three new directives in the oil and gas sector to introduce fiscal incentives for related projects, reduce contracting costs and timelines, and promote cost efficiency in local content requirements.

This followed “extensive engagements, analyses, and benchmarking with other jurisdictions” a statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, read Wednesday.

The statement is titled ‘President Tinubu signs executive orders on oil and gas reforms.’

According to Ngelale, Tinubu approved the “Introduction of fiscal incentives for non-associated gas, midstream and deepwater developments.

“Streamlining of contracting process to compress the contracting cycle to six months.

“The application of the local content requirements without hindering investments or the cost competitiveness.”

Wednesday’s directive is in keeping with his efforts to remove obstacles to investments in Nigeria, harness the nation’s resources and diversify the economy for the benefit of Nigerians, said the Presidency.

It is also expected to improve the investment climate and position Nigeria as the preferred investment destination for the oil & gas sector in Africa, the statement further explained.

Ngelale noted that these incentives were developed in collaboration with the Federal Ministries of Justice, Finance, Petroleum, Budget and Economic Planning, Federal Inland Revenue Service, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board.

The details of these Policy Directives will be gazetted and communicated by the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation even as the Special Adviser to the President on Energy, Mrs Olu Verhijen, has been directed to “continue coordinating the aforementioned stakeholders to ensure the implementation of these directives within a stipulated timeframe.”

Tinupoo has been signing too many paper executive orders yet the masses on the streets don't feel anything but hardship, inflation and useless 30k minimum wage.

Everything about tinupoo is fraud. Where's portharcourt refinery? Where are the Indian investors?? Why is cooking gas selling at #1300??

Tinubu you're an economic hitman for the Illuminati and Bretton woods institutions, for the nwo. Your people are drowning in poverty, but you have shut your ears , you don't even hear their cries for help. You use a rod of iron against the downtrodden driving them further into poverty and servitude. There's not much time left. If you don't change this year , you're doomed. Your destruction will come swiftly, 2025 will be your year of reckoning, clonaid and whatever technology you have at your disposal in France will not save you.

What does the executive order mean to Nigerian economy??

How does this affect the plight of the common man.

Do journalists and newspaper companies ever care to understand the story they are trying to publish?

Too many unoccupied houses and estates in Abuja,
Enforce ground rent, light bills, water bills, property taxes.
Enforce some stimulation that will force the owners to rent out or sell.
Or enact the squatters protection law.
Any unoccupied house has to be registered for security purposes in Abuja.
This will stimulate economy. Bring down prices of rent, sales of houses and lands. Wealthy people will stop hoarding Houses.
Any unoccupied house pays 30/month thousand naira, Government regulators agency hires citizens pays them salaries, they drive around to check and regulate unoccupied properties, for kidnappers social miscreants.

A lot of houses falling apart unoccupied and rent is still high in the same city !

Nice one, Mr Balablu Bulubla!

We are on the right track.

To the ignoramus above and below, policy reforms is not like your indomine you cook in 5 minutes.

All these reforms won't produce result until next year. Asiwaju is not a magician and restructuring economy is not abracadabra.

If the last governments were willful, capable and had your best interest at heart, all these reforms would have been executed in the yesteryears. Now, everyone will be eating the dividends. But instead they all took the easy route of defending the dollar and subsidizing all your luxuries. And what was the result? Politicians, leaders, citizens who became spolit brats. Agriculture was our foundation in this country and today, we can't even feed ourselves. Pathetic!

Let Asiwaju cook a beg. By 2027, all of una haters go campaign for am. Your Pitbull Obi won't even get half of the votes he got in 2023. You can quote me when it's time.

Umaru Bago and Obi are not mates self. Bago is a doer, Obi is a talker. "Consumption to production" and voluminous threads like say him dey printing press but zero workings when he was Anambra governor. Consumption to production and he's one of the biggest importers in this country. Obi doesn't even own a single factory in this country. Lol

Asiwaju is a doer
Bago is a doer
Obi is a talker.

So, if you plant cash crops today, you start eating the harvest the following day or within a week?!!

Policies are not supposed to yield massively within a short time frame.

A lot needs to be done to even get the best out of these policies... It sometimes takes concerted efforts too.

Y'all should give the man time and space to deliver on critical areas. Makes no sense demonizing everything this administration does.

Nigeria can never be fixed in a short time, not even in a few years, even if you bring the finest and most incorruptible leaders into all sectors.

My own is... They should find a way to mitigate the sufferings of the lowliest amongst the citizenry while the policies take shape and yield results.
