Case of mistaken identity then, There are many in your shoes in here, but sometimes they are the ones that deliberately fueled it by leaving their handles

without a gender and speaking from both sides of divide!!!

But does emofine sound masculine??

But does emofine sound masculine??

I was talking about a different site. I actually ran with the idea that people thought I was a male for a while because I thought it will be interesting to channel a male perspective - even though I wavered many times embarassed.
Some people were suspicious of me that's why many believed I was gay because apparently I sounded too sensitive to be a man shocked grin.
Even with the belief that I was a "guy" one dude still hit on me and appeared disappointed when I finally clarified my gender - but who knows, the "dude" could have been an actual "female".
In conclusion as a part-time "fella" the "lads" liked me better than the "ladies" - and when I say "liked" I mean a friendly like.

I don't know if emofine sounds masculine to others because before I marked "(f)" to identify my gender some people referred to me via masculine pronouns. Thus I finally felt compelled to clear the confusion.

Regarding people not making known their specific gender - some may not want their gender to influence how fellow posters take their thoughts in consideration because people have biased minds. That was one of my motivation for not immediately declaring my gender plus I wanted people to figure me out first. Surely if my identity had been "male" I would have garnered a different audience and reception.

Yeah, very true!!

Same way some people hide their ages or lie about it because most people judge what you say most times by your age.

But i guess you enjoyed being a "fella" while it lasted. tongue

lol well for one, no one even bothered harassing me for pictures when they hounded other females and they gave me a lot of space. They also seemed to respect my opinions a lot more as a guy. Oh and just like you I took advantage and teased some information from some of the lads tongue.

But it all changed since the reveal. When they discovered I was a lady the whole dynamic changed and my thoughts and ideas were said to have been inspired by PMS - my future nickname at a later stage.
Some of them thought I was irrational and they kept on baiting me, wanting me to kick off. And of course ever since then they flooded me with piles of personal messages requesting to see the new "lady" on the block. I declined all of their offers because none of them deserved the privilege after e-bullying me angry grin. However some were cool with the "girl" with the masculine handle but quite a few particularly ones of a Nigerian descent were sexist pigs and denounced my so called "feminist" () ideals and it got worse once they discovered my age cry.

A lot of them were just sexually frustrated cavemen (or women, who knows) really.
