Happy weekend my good friends in this forum ...

pls I need ur help once more ...

I'm waiting to get a date for my appeal hearing..
It was stated in the last letter I got from the tribunal that I have a waiting period of 15 weeks which runs out on the 4th of august 2016... up until now I've not heard nothing from them ...

can someone please help me with their actual contact details for me to call or mail them to inquire about my hearing date?.

secondly can I make a fresh application by myself while coming waiting for my appeal without using my very very expensive lawyer ..... cuz she wants to charge me over 1000GBP for this ....
thx

Don't worry even if the review deadline has passed as far the home office has not returned your bundle or said they are upholding the refusal decision, as far you tackle the reason for refusal perfectly with enough evidence they will still overturned before the year runs out.

My greetings to All,

I am new here and got to this forum thanks to google. What great job all are doing in helping others. it's really awesome. I hope to get help here too. My problem is I live in a shared flat (2bedroom flat) with a student, and we registered his name with the council to avoid paying the council tax. I m in the process of applying for my husband's visa (spouse visa), I want to ask, do the ECO check if I pay council tax that is if I do not submit any letter from council as proof of address? I have other proof of address that I can use. my coucil tax is approx.£162pcm which is high for me to pay even when I get the 25% discount. I need your candid advise.

That will be risky in my opinion because if the tenancy agreement is not in your name and its shared accommodation then questions will be asked. To show proof of accommodation you need to submit tenancy agreement and that ultimately means council tax payment

What is going to be the content of this letter? Are you trying to tell the ECO that you forgot your own marital status? AM not comfortable with the letter but hey, it's your choice. Sometimes it's good not to complicate issues for yourself. Once an ECO begins to have doubts about a particular application, they begin to scrutinize every single thing, even the unnecessary ones. I don't know if people write "divorcee" in their marriage certificate in Nigeria. But then again, what do I know. I may be wrong. All the best.

Its always good to point out a mistake before the ECO does and since the letter will be coming from the authority that issued it i don't see the problem there

@justwise, yes the tenancy agreement is in my name and the council tax in my flat mate's name for student exemption. will it be wise to pay it? that will be pocket draining chai..

Hello all, update on my settlement visa,
March 9th application submitted online
March 11th 2016 Biometric
May 25th a not straight forward email
Afterwards long silence, by june and july , my hubby and i started calling them, and did various escalations
in july escalation reply came that they were still working on it
August 12th my hubby wrote to the MP
MP called him two days later that they have contacted home office on our behalf,
August 22nd MP wrote to my hubby with home office response that the application is on active consideration and they were still checking our financial and personal circumstance. ( note no interview was done and no additinal documents were requested)
Sept 10th got an email from UKBI that a decision has been made
Another email from TLS on the 15th that passport is ready for collection
picked up same day
VISA GRANTED... yippee, i cant thank God enough
personally i think they forgot they forgot about my application but the good thing is regardless of that in the end it worked out for my good
Total wait plus weekends and holidays 7 months, total work days excluding weekends and holiday 130 days or thereabout
it was a long and stressful wait, but it ended in praise.
Habakkuk 2 :3 is the scripture that sums it up.

As far the tenancy agreement is on your name no problem and you don't have to submit your council tax as proof of accommodation. Just submit any bill on your name and Tenancy agreement.
Good luck.

@ justwise and dday101, thanks a lot for your response. I am good to go. the only delay is that my spouse submitted transcript and statement of result with no letter confirming that the degree was taught in english for NARIC assessment. we got an email stating that we should upload the letter and the degree certificate. we have requested for both. The letter confirming that the degree was taught in english will be collected on Monday, but the degree certificate may take longer time. I want to ask, will NARIC accept the statement of result in place of degree certificate? I once used my statement of result for the canadian version of NARIC and it was accepted. Please your advise is appreciated.

good day all, and congrats to everyone that has received their visa, God help us all. Please the council tax, electricity and all other bills are attached to the rent in my case, and its stated like that in the tenancy agreement. Is that a problem in showing your council tax and other bills as part of your application?

You need to contact them to explain that, getting a certificate in Nigeria takes ages if not forever even with bribe.

No it won't be a problem but don't let that visa expire before you travel cause you will end up playing yourself badly, it will cost you stress and money.

No visa has bring issued and my hubby has being uk fit the past 2 months but I still haven't recieved my supporting documents like passport and others .

I suggest you write to them and include a Special Delivery, self-addressed envelope including a note/copy of your email asking for your documents. Include your reference and any identifiable bit of information.

Make a note of the Special Delivery reference just in case.

Send everything at least by Recorded Delivery. Once it's been delivered, go to Royal Mail's website and do a screenshot/printout of the delivery details. Email Sheffield again stating you've sent the envelope for your documents and quote the necessary.

They've either misplaced your documents or the return envelope (working on the premise that you sent a SAE originally). Good luck!

Hi Mrsbebe,

I had to reschedule my TLS appointment twice and I did it via my application page, where you originally selected the appointment dates, there is an option there for reschedule but that option will not be available for you anymore because your scheduled date has passed. You can only reschedule up until one minute before your scheduled appointment (as I was told by TLS last year April) once you miss the appointment without rescheduling you have to make a new payment (or was it new application? Can't quite remember) and ask for a refund of the previous fees which they said normally takes a while.

All the best

If you are having difficulties paying just email them on IHS.Sheffield@fco.gov.uk with your GWF number then wait for their response.

Did you not get a link within an email they sent you, to pay for the IHS, double check as i have just done an internet sweep and this seems to be the standard response from others that had to pay again after overturn or successful appeal smiley

Hello everyone,
Getting NARIC English assessment without degree certification is difficult. I sometime last week explained to them that getting degree certificate from state university takes ages as advised by @justwise, we got the response in the attached file. We submitted transcript, statement of results and letter confirming that English was used in the university. We are yet to decide. If we accept, I know it's a denial. Pls can someone advise?
Writing the Test seems to be the only option but we are considering the time to book.

Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Benz101: 5:22pm On Sep 23, 2016
This is the full response:

Dear Sir / Madam,

We can provide an assessment of your qualification(s) however please note we have not been provided with a copy of your final certificate and as a result, the following sentence will be included in your letter: Final certificate not presented. We recommend that a copy of the final certificate be presented to potential employers / admitting institutions as official proof of qualification.

If you wish to proceed on this basis please click on the following icon in the action column.

If you do not wish for this sentence to be included in your assessment please upload or post a copy of your final certificate before your assessment is completed and posted. If you are unable to send in your final certificate and you wish to send it in at a later date, then we will charge a fee of £12 (+VAT) plus your chosen delivery charge to reissue your Statement.

Kind regards

UK NARIC

Unfortunately we are not able to provide a English Language Assessment for all of the qualifications submitted. Please note, if you wish to continue with the service, we will only include the qualifications with the status "yes we can do". No other qualifications will be assessed.
Yes I wish to proceed with the disclaimer
No I wish to cancel my application

Hi All,

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone on this forum... for the informations and everything....

So I applied for a spouse visa on the 23rd of August 2016.... I asked on this forum if it would be wise to still apply for PRIORITY VISA as I have been denied visas for UK and the US and I was advised not to apply for a PRIORITY VISA.... but I couldn't wait for the 12weeks so I risked it and went ahead to apply for a PRIORITY VISA...........

And I was granted the Spouse visa today.... smiley ...

So if you have £450 extra to risk for a PRIORITY VISA, it might be worth taking a shot.. who knows you might be lucky...

Please find my timeline below

18th August 2016 Application submitted online
22nd August 2016 Paid for Priority online
23rd August 2016 Biometrics done at VAC Ikeja
23rd August 2016 TLS updates to state application has been transferred to UKVI
24th August 2016 supporting docs were posted to Sheffield
24th August 2016 email from UKVI application has been received in Sheffield, UK
25th August 2016 TLS updated Your UK visa application has been received by UK Visas & Immigration
20th September 2016 Email from UKVI, A decision has been made on your UK Visa application
21st September 2016 TLS updated UK Visas & Immigration has now assessed your UK visa application and made a decision
22nd September 2016 Documents returned to sponsor in the UK
23rd September 2016 TLS updated application ready for collection Your passport and any returned supporting documentation have now arrived back at the TLScontact UK and I picked it up on same day... smiley
