I think the Nigerian government have so much on their hands to start thinking about same sex marriage. The last time I checked, there was no culture that supported stealing. Rather it makes accomodation for some of the beliefs of both religions, islam more than Christianity, I would say, but no constitution gives over the right to decide on the freedoms of anyone . That should be solely the responsibility of the State.

I'm appalled at some of these posts. We have to understand that this is a social issue that affects us all and that needs to be addressed in all societies.
Homosexuality is highly tolerated in the west because generations have grown up witnessing homosexuals parade and display their affections for one another publicly. I remember my 16yr old son telling me once that people are born g-ay. Which I don't agree with, I believe it's a matter of preference, people choose to be g-ay. Now because of the society in which he was born and is growing up in he doesn't share my belief on this subject, and I understand why.
As Africans we should understand that our culture and traditions are what separates us from the rest of the world a makes us who we are. So cherish and hold on to them dearly.

To the person saying the law exists in Singapore, you are forgetting this is Naija.

@ Kobojunkie, well i dont know where u got your facts from that the constitution out there is not based on Christianity or Islam if not why do people have to be sworn in with a Bible/Quran if they appear before a judge out there? The first thing the court clerk out there ask is your religion before he or she hands you the Holy book pertaining to your belief. If you can still remember that in Nigeria some Northern states make sharia law more applicable to everyone living within their jurisdiction. what ethnic group do you belong to out there? Try find out the implication of such act.
