I am new to this forum but my question is in line with the Tier 1 post study work permit. thank you for your request for an administrative review regarding our decision to refuse your application as a Tier 1 Post Study Worker in the UK. I have duly considered your grounds for appeal but am satisfied the decision to refuse your application was correct. You state in your grounds that you have submitted evidence of funds up to and including 26 August but this is not the case. Your most recent account only covers the period to 15 March 2011. You suggest the entry clearance officer should have contacted the bank to confirm the current balance but this is outside their remit and the bank would not have been able to provide the relevant information due to data protection issues. The onus is on the applicant to provide sufficient evidence to support their application and you have quite clearly failed to do that on two occassions. I have therefore upheld the decision. You are entitled to re-apply at any time. I have more than the required amount in my UK account but I relied on them to verify from my bank and they mentioned data protection. Moreover, the last sentence confused me the more. Can I really reapply even though it is over one year ago that my certificate was issued to me. I need your advice before they CHOP my money |

ricardo12: I think you can re-apply with a year old certificate, check UKBA website for that. |

ooosamede2: Your sponsor has to show evidence of finance available to you and the letter addressed to the BHC. Or they put the money in your account |

Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by justwise(m): 10:11am On Jan 03, 2012 |
ooosamede2: A scholarship award letter from your local govt should be enough in place of bank statement as long as that award letter can be verified through an official channel by the BHC. When you are given a scholarship by a govt i don't necessarily expect them to attach bank statement, an official letter explaining the details of the scholarship and why you deserved to be given one will do You should inform your school that you are being sponsored by your local govt and the award letter forwarded to them as well. |

One more thing. . . check your school website about payment system as regard to people being sponsored by an organisation or govt. And read UKBA Tie 4 policy guidance about people being sponsored by their home govt, there are some helpful info there. |

Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by ooosamede2: 11:39am On Jan 03, 2012 |
justwise:The evidence of money held must be of cash funds in the bank (this includes savings 163. accounts and current accounts even when notice must be given), as a loan letter or official financial or government sponsorship available to the applicant. Other accounts or financial instruments such as shares, bonds, overdrafts, credit cards and pension funds are not acceptable, regardless of notice period. Means i have to show bank statement, Am i right? |
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by justwise(m): 11:49am On Jan 03, 2012 |

justwise:it was not stated if the Local Government have to keep the money in the bank for 28 days. What do you think about that ? |
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by justwise(m): 12:22pm On Jan 03, 2012 |
ooosamede2: I don't really see the issue of 28days being applicable to a sponsor like local govt. |

justwise: The information below is from this website http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/studying/child-students/evidence/money/# you can check it out Evidence of an official financial sponsor or government sponsor Close If your Tier 4 sponsor is giving you any any official financial sponsorship, it can include details of this on your confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS). You do not need to provide any documents as evidence of this official financial sponsorship. If you do not know whether your CAS contains this information, you must ask your Tier 4 sponsor. In any other circumstances where you are being given official financial sponsorship, you must provide send us a letter of confirmation from your official financial sponsor. The letter must be on the organisation's official letter-headed paper or stationery, and must bear the organisation's official stamp. It must show: * your name ; * the official financial sponsor's name and contact details; * the date of the letter; * the length of the sponsorship; and * the amount of money that the official financial sponsor is giving to you, or a statement that it will cover all of your course fees and living costs. |

ooosamede2: In this case they are referring to scholarship given to you by your school. Your school is referred to as Tie 4 sponsor |

justwise:Thank you very much Just wise for answering my questions and very fast How should my Local government write my supporting letter and the award/scholarship letter what should be included as per the BHC requirements things to include in their letter |
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by justwise(m): 8:33pm On Jan 03, 2012 |
ooosamede2: I'm pretty sure that your local govt will know exactly how to word those letters but all i can say is that you need two pieces documents from your local govt. One is the scholarship award letter to you and another one is supporting letter addressed to the ECO from your local govt, confirming that you have been awarded a scholarship by them, details of the scholarship and reason(s) why you are the deserving winner of the scholarship. Both letters should state whether the scholarship is a full one or half scholarship, by that i mean whether the scholarship will cover all your school fees and maintenance fees or half of it. |

justwise:Please JUSTWISE someone from the BCIE sent the email below but i totally do not agree with him Dear Osamede, Thanks for the enquiry. Please be informed that the UK Border Agency does not recognise Local Govts as financial sponsors. Only the Federal Govt of Nigeria is qualified to sponsor you. The option available to you now is to convince your local govt to pay the money into your account or that of your parents. Anything short of this will earn you visal refusal. -- British Canadian International Education(BCIE) Port Harcourt Office Manager 80 Aba Road, Opposite Government Crafts Development Center |
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by justwise(m): 2:48pm On Jan 04, 2012 |
ooosamede2: If they said that local govt can't sponsor you then let them pay the money into your account since the scholarship is given to you already. It will save you alot of trouble that way. |
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by ooosamede2: 3:59pm On Jan 04, 2012 |
justwise:I have called the embassy several times they cant tell me if my Local Govt can be my sponsor they keep telling me to check the web,i have sent series of email and they have refused to reply, This Uk System is something Else even America and Canada is not as though as this, i will go ahead and apply and submit it with their bank statement A Tier 4 (General) student can receive official financial sponsor from Her Majesty’s 172. Government, the Tier 4 (General) student’s home government, the British Council or any international organisation, international company, university or an Independent School. If one can be sponsored by his company,Uncle, etc i think my Local GOVT can sponsor me, paying the money into my account they might think will abandon my education and run away with their money, you know how Govt thinks. i will go to my Local Govt before monday i will let u know the outcome |

Justwise kindly access my case. I submitted my application already, and i only submitted my laminated degree certificate. Thats the only thing stated in my cas. I also submitted my bank statement with a cover note from the bank. Now the thing is all i need to show in my account is N2.6m, my account has not gone below N2.9m for over 2months but money goes in and out. Now this is my fear, i deposited some money for my sister, about 1million naira which i took out to help her pay for something cus she wasn't in the country then. the payment took my balance to about 4million naira and wen i took it out, i still had 3m. now my quest is the transactions are on the statement i submitted i hope there won't be any quest about it. And by the way, i still hav a running 2yrs uk visa on my passport hope dat counts for good. |

olujwon: As long as the transaction did not affect the 28days counting then u will be ok. |
