lolawilliams:hi. I ran into this NBA thread and found your contributions interesting. it intrigues me whenever I see girls being involved in stuffs like NBA, football, video games. its the biggest turn ON for me. Basketball was my first love before loss of virginity. LOL. It pains me I noticed this NBA thread quite late after the season was over. I was for lebron and the cavs. all respect to golden states, but I felt Cleveland would have a better story line if lebron brought a chip to it. Lebron is the most versatile player the NBA has ever seen, only weakness is that he has a poor shoot stroke off the dribble and post-moves. curry has the best handles and best shooting-stroke off the dribble in the NBA. But I must say Lebron has solidified his place I. the top 5 greatest ever by winning this chip. as a response to this your post. I think philly isn't the future. the wolves are the future. No rookie center has been has good as Towns in Decades. Then they have lavine and Wiggins. watch out for wolves in like 2years time. may not win the chip but guaranteed playoffs, year in year out. Lola, come November, u have my vote to be the O.P of a fresh new topic for the 2016/17 NBA season. keep it up. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Smoosh, Mizzzbeee, Manutd19, make una no vex, Sircumalot was trolling. Basketball fans like almost all fans are fair-weather. Someone like loj who is a curry fan was obviously disappointed that Curry did not bring it in the finals. But unlike us, he has a unique way of voicing his displeasure. It seems this CAVS/GSW rivalry is going to be like 80s Celtics and Lakers. Perhaps only difference is Bron Bron is on the other side of 30 that isn't too favorable. So l think GSW will edge it come next 2 years. For those wondering why I said what I said, they should go and see how atrocious legends like Magic and Bird were in finals games that their teams didn't win. Curry is not an exception. Bron Bron was trolled for his performance against the Mavs in 2011. Basketball is like that. We have accepted that Curry did not bring it and Bron did. Doesn't make him a one trick pony. According to % Curry drives to the rim better than Kyrie. But we did not see him do that in game 7 and we all know his knees did not let him. Let us not forget it was 89-89 with 5 mins to go. Iggy was blocked by Bron and Kyrie hit a 3pt. Curry wanted to aim for a 4pt play against Love but Love didn't fall for it and the ensuing shot did not drop. There would be games like that. We would be back 2017. 1 Like |

lolawilliams: my bad, sorry. i meant TURN-ON not TURN-OFF. Thanx, yeah I'm a Nigerian. WD be following the tigers in the Olympics. Though basketball wdnt be so interesting since several top NBA players stepped down. I go thru Eruditor's posts in this thread. Though he's a rival-fan. The warriors are great. no doubt, they brought something new to the NBA. They start their offence from very far from the 3-point line, set the most screens in the NBA, play small ball, and have 2 of the deadliest shooters the NBA has ever seen in klay&steph. But I never stood for designing your team around 3-point shots. I believe 3-point shots should come naturally. Not something you should plan to do. Im do glad my cavs whooped their a.s.s.e.s, or else the whole world would have placed them above the 96bulls. To me, that was the greatest team ever. Trust me I watched almost all their games that season. Jordan is the greatest athlete of all time. if care ain't taken, I would place the Lakers of the early 2000's above this warriors. That was another dynasty. |
Re: The NBA Begins by nairamaniac: 5:47am On Jun 26, 2016 |
Eruditor:hi. they say you are the MVP. nice to meet you. you have all have been doing a wonderful job. Weldon! I doubt their would be another rivalry again like the 80's Lakers/Celtics. The NBA has expanded beyond 2 teams dominating their conferences. if okc keeps its core, they would easily edge out warriors dominance in the west. I still believe Westbrook is a liability though. he plays too fast for the team and its hurting them. To me, he's more of a scoring/shooting guard than a point. OKC either slows him down or get a pure point-guard like Chris Paul to set their plays. The only advantage warriors have is that they have such a big cap-space, especially if they trade out Harrison Barnse. I see them going for Dirk or a pure defensive center to come off the bench for Bogut. Make no mistake, Lebron is the leader of my cavs, but in like 2 to 3 years, the team would belong to kyrie, especially offensively. Kyrie may edge out Steph. Kyrie is just 23, and steph wasn't this good @ that age. Kyrie is a Kobe/Wade hybrid with a little bit of Curry in him. |

LoJ:who or what is "a connoisseur"? are u refering to the guy on this thread? or you are complimenting me? |
Re: The NBA Begins by nairamaniac: 6:22am On Jun 26, 2016 |
LoJ: I'm not a top curry fan, but he has been by far the best point guard in the NBA for past 2years. he has since dethroned Chris Paul who held it for like 4 years. curry is not all bout shooting. do you know what it takes to shoot off the dribble with that much efficiency? The best shooters of last 20 to 30years were Reggie, Ray Allen, Nash, Bird, Steve Kerr and maybe a few others I didn't mention. And none of those guys shot off the dribble especially at clutch periods as good/well as Curry. Besides His 3-game, he's got the best handles in the league and good finishes to the rim. The NBA has never seen one player being the best ball-handler and best 3-point shooter till Curry. The closest to have had both combinations in him must have been Tim Hardaway. I would have added Nash to Hardaway, but Nash was more of an assist guy off his dribbles than a scorer. Though he had above 40% 3-point percentage several times. how the hell can you say curry is an average player? he's the only player since Iverson and Jordan to lead the NBA in steals and scoring in one same season. he may not be the best defensively, but he's got quick hands to steal that well. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Mizzzbeee:you HV got too much game for a female. Weldon. well, rather than OKC loosing Durant, I would suggest they loose Westbrook next year instead. I keep on telling people that Westbrook is a liability at point guard. he is too explosive to play point guard. he is an explosive-scorer by mentality just like Iverson and younger Dwayne Wade. OKC shd rather trade him out or bring someone else to run their point. Shift Westbrook to shooting guard/forward and watch him average 30 points/10rebounds for next 5seasons. I really hope OKC listens to me, cos Durant deserves a ring In his career in OKC. unfortunately, I don't think they are on NairaLand. 1 Like 1 Share |

a solid case could be made for the 73-9 warriors as the greatest team of all time if they had just clinched the championship,as much as I have enjoyed LeBron finally winning for Cleveland. witnessing history may not be as sweet but it will be satisfying in some form. the leagueas whole, ride Jordan's nuts way too hard sometimes. 1 Like |

Roland17:Can't blame the Bulls for pulling the plug on Rose. That team's window was gone and they just had to rebuild Rondo is a wasteman. Instead of focusing on improving a playoff team with a future HOFer he has opted to waste the rest of his career in the Sacramento wilderness |
Re: The NBA Begins by nairamaniac: 8:00am On Jun 26, 2016 |
SmooshCHN: Your list is the most accurate list iv seen in my life. curry is in a class of his own amongst point guards. Chris Paul is ahead of Westbrook. Chris Paul needs and deserves at least conference-finals basketball. The guy is the most intelligent point guard iv seen since Magic and Stockton. But let's all watch Kyrie move up this list to at least number 2 within the next 2years. kyrie can easily average 25points consistently on 40% efficiency within the next two seasons. And he is clutch like Kobe/elite-Wade. 2 Likes 1 Share |
