spyder880:

^^^^ its not all fences that has pillars in between, the pillars are for added strenght to make the fence more stable. It is difficult for the fence with pillars to fall, especially those fences with beams to chain it.
Many fences are done with double standing blocks at intervals as pillars, this has its own pros and cons too.

Does double standing blocks serves the same purpose with the pillars. What's the cost benefit for using blocks instead of pillars. I guess pillars are more expensive than than double standing blocks.

Looking at the cost of those rods and the cements and the rest, i kinda agree with you, but let us see the effect of the double blocking

The block pillar will be cheaper, it also has some advantage as the protruded blocks will act as legs that stand the fence, it can also fall in units in cases of damage, (one unit can fall on its own without pulling the rest down.

spyder880: ^^^^ 6" hollow blocks sell for N85 today in Enugu. I got delivery of 1600 blocks of 6" hollow on this site and am just paying the supplier here on site. If you are in Enugu, just holla and we can give you up to 50,000 pcs of 6" hollow tomorrow morning, anywhere in Enugu urban.
The 6" hollow is cheaper because of the low price of trip of sand in Enugu.

Spyder880, how many hollow blocks will be needed to fence around the 4 corners of two plots (120ftx120ft)to about 10 blocks high?
What size of blocks is used for fence, 9in or 6in?
What estimate of bags of cements and sand etc. will be needed? All the cost to complete the fencing..
If you can break it down in pieces, I will be very grateful. Thank you.

That fencing on my land will have to wait. I don't have something in this region to expend on fencing. When my neighbours are ready we can have an understanding on how to go about the fencing.
