These countries were different entities during the colonial times, even though they are not recognized yet. Maybe African colonial boundaries are affecting us so much that we cannot create our own natural boundaries. I can recall Soyinka once calling for redrawing of African borders. I guess that will never happen, but countries like Nigeria will have to redraw their own natural internal borders
