Goodluck Jonathan's London Jamboree





Nigerian President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and his handlers made a BIG DEAL of British Prime Minister. David Cameron’s “London Conference on Somalia" leaving serious security challenges at home.

Jonathan left Nigeria with two Presidential Jets, his wife and over 47 handlers, arriving in London with fanfare, the Nigerian President did not play any significant role during the entire proceedings, that role was left for President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh who applauded “the unique character and timeliness of this conference on Somalia”.

President of Uganda Museveni who spoke about the importance of controlling the Somali mainland to prevent piracy and advised that international efforts should be focused on securing Somalia.

Kenyan President Kibaki who welcomed the United Nations resolution in support of (amisomsomalia) African Intervention Force on Somalia.

No word from President Goodluck Jonathan, aside his famous handshake with David Cameron. The Nigerian President appear to be on a Jamborree to an event he could have sent delegates or attended only if he had something meaningful to contribute.

Getting tired of GEJ's 'attire' - he needs a makeover and a tailor.

But doesn't it worry any of us that our voice doesn't seem to count even in a conference like this? How come leader from countries such as Djibouti and Uganda are making pronouncements, while the "giant of Africa" appears to have lost its voice? Isn't this an indictment on our foreign policy (which has been known to be Afro-centric for many years) and an indication that we don't really count in the comity of nations, even with our huge population?

I am personally very concerned about this. We probably have the largest delegation in that conference, and yet there's no address by our own president. Its very sad.

By the way, I wonder how much we're paying the airport hangar as "parking fees" for those aircraft.
