The problem is not about the 'bible' that has just been discovered in Turkey but about how the muslim should discover the Koran that does not speak about violence in the world. It seems too much blood drips from the present Koran all over the world and my hope is another Koran will be discovered in Iran or Afganistan that will be devoid of violence or bloodshed.Truly this edition of Koran is bloody.Let them not worry about Bible but Koran.

This is what a catholic website reported on the issue
Ancient Turkish document may be 1500-year-old Bible
February 24, 2012

From Our Store: Misinterpreting Catholicism (eBook)
The cultural ministry of Turkey has reported finding a 1,500-year-old document, possibly written in Aramaic, which may be the apocryphal “Gospel of Barnabas.” Turkish authorities say that the document was seized from smugglers in 2000. It will need repairs before it can be exhibited, they said.

Vatican officials have reportedly asked for an opportunity to study the manuscript. Although many news accounts identified it as an ancient Bible, the content cannot be determined until it is cleaned and translated. Aramaic, the language spoken by Jesus, is rarely used in the same form today.

Students of history know that the so called Gospel of Barnabas was the heretical biblical stories that floated around the middle east during the early days of Islam. Those were the sources of funny stories of Jesus speaking at birth, bring clay birds to life, Mary giving birth underneath a palm tree and so on. These were stories repeated in the Koran.

The "gospels" will surely carry the same stories, but it doesn't mean they are authentic - they were rejected then and will be rejected know. A quick check on the internet for the gospel of Barnabas, gnostic gospels and so on will reveal more.

The term apocrypha is used with various meanings, including "hidden", "esoteric", "spurious", "of questionable authenticity", ancient Chinese "revealed texts and objects" and "Christian texts that are not canonical". The general term is usually applied to the books in the Roman Catholic Bible, which Protestants reject as not God's word. As such, it is misleading in this sense to refer to the Gospel according to the Hebrews or Gnostic writings as apocryphal, because they would not be classified in the same category by orthodox believers: they would be classified as a heretical subset of antilegomenae, to distinguish them from now-canonical ancient antilegomenae such as 2 Peter, 3 John and the Revelation of John, and non-canonical but non-heretical books which were quoted by the Early Fathers such as the pseudepigraphic Epistle of Barnabas, the Didache, or The Shepherd of Hermas. The gnostic writings are generally not accorded any status, not even a negative one: they are ignored, as they are incompatible with the accepted canon prima facie. Non-canonical books are texts of uncertain authenticity, or writings where the work is seriously questioned. Given that different denominations have different beliefs about what constitutes canonical scripture, there are several versions of the apocrypha.
During 16th-century controversies about the biblical canon, the word acquired a negative connotation, and has become a synonym for "spurious" or "false". This usage usually involves fictitious or legendary accounts that are plausible enough to be commonly considered true. For example, Laozi's alleged authorship of the Tao Te Ching and the Parson Weems account of George Washington and the cherry tree are considered apocryphal.

Quote
The Gospel of Barnabas is a book depicting the life of Jesus, and claiming to be by Jesus' disciple Barnabas, who in this work is one of the twelve apostles. Two manuscripts are known to have existed, both dated to the late 16th century and written respectively in Italian and in Spanish—although the Spanish manuscript is now lost, its text surviving only in a partial 18th-century transcript. Barnabas is about the same length as the four Canonical gospels put together (the Italian manuscript has 222 chapters), with the bulk being devoted to an account of Jesus' ministry, much of it harmonized from accounts also found in the canonical gospels. In some key respects, it conforms to the Islamic interpretation of Christian origins and contradicts the New Testament teachings of Christianity.
This Gospel is considered by the majority of academics, including Christians and some Muslims (such as Abbas el-Akkad) to be late and pseudepigraphical;[1] however, some academics suggest that it may contain some remnants of an earlier apocryphal work (perhaps Gnostic[2], Ebionite[3] or Diatessaronic[4]), edited to conform to Islam. Some Muslims consider the surviving versions as transmitting a suppressed apostolic original. Some Islamic organizations cite it in support of the Islamic view of Jesus.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospel_of_barnabas

The gospel of Barnabas (attributed by some to Barnabas in the news testament)is among the gnostic gospels that were rejected as heretical and found their way among the early heretical Christians in Arabia. The gospels such as this were common knowledge in Arabia  then and that was the basis for the Islam's recognition of Christianity (eg miracles of Jesus talking at birth,   making clay birds that flew and that sought of stuff). And these were deemed the correct Christians eg Bn Waraqa (The Prophets In-law)

Of course the Gospel of Barbanas is not expected to deviate from this. I expect the translation to fit into Islam accounts of Christianity. Some Muslims say that the Gospel of Barnabas even  mentions Muhammed by name. So its nothing new. the gospel of Barnabas is know to have existed, parts of it survives today, its contents are known and kept as historical artefacts. It would of importance to researchers who would want to compare its contents with bits of what they have. Also, the Vatican is known to be engaged in serious research on anything remotely Christian so the Pope's requests is not surprising. Enquiry and research into Christianity is open and questioning of faith is allowed.

Aside that I see no earth shaking "revelation" except for some to capitalise on it. In fact there are Islamic stories that correlate with these heretical writings other gospels:

(i)    Mary working in the temple (in Jerusalem) as child/youth – from “The Proto Gospel after Jacob”, part 8,1 and 8,1b.

(ii)     Jesus talking in the crib – from the religious legend “The Egyptian Child Gospel” perhaps via the as made up “The Arab Child Gospel” (originally from Syria) – both  tales about fantastic things concerning the child Jesus. “The Arab Child Gospel” also got stories from “The Proto Gospel after Jacob” and “The Thomas’ Child Gospel” – both made up religious legends or myths.

(iii)   Jesus making birds from clay – read the heretical Gnostic “Child Gospel after Thomas” verse 1 – 4, a very made up child gospel.

(iii) Mary and the palm – from the made up religious fable “The Proto Gospel after Mathew”, chapter 20.

All those who questioned how Biblical stories came about in the Koran now have an answer.

We await the study of the "gospel", its author and history

How did this corroborate "Jesus spoke about mohammed?"

The full books of the bible has been discovered. Isreali goverment (the owner) and google are translating it to many languages.
I saw a sample manuscript from google. there is no much difference except missing books and verses.

Funny enough, it was written in Hebrew. LOL not arabic

Why is everybody attributing their faith to the bible?

Hindus claimed the bible talked about their religion.

Who we are:

We are ex-Muslims. Some of us were born and raised in Islam and some of us had converted to Islam at some moment in our lives. We were taught never to question the truth of Islam and to believe in Allah and his messenger with blind faith. We were told that Allah would forgive all sins but the sin of disbelief (Quran 4:48 and 4:116). But we committed the ultimate sin of thinking and questioned the belief that was imposed on us and we came to realize that far from being a religion of truth, Islam is a hoax, it is hallucination of a sick mind and nothing but lies and deceits.

What we believe:

Some of us have embraced other religions but most of us have simply left Islam without believing in any other religion. We believe in humanity. We believe that humans do not need to follow a religion to be good. All we need to follow is the Golden Rule. All we have to do is to treat others the way we expect to be treated. This is the essence of all the goodness. All good religious teachings stem from this eternal principle. This is the ultimate guidance humanity need. This is the Golden Rule.

Why Mohammed was not a prophet:

One who claims to be a messenger of God is expected to live a saintly life. He must not be given to lust, he must not be a sexual pervert, and he must not be a rapist, a highway robber, a war criminal, a mass murderer or an assassin. One who claims to be a messenger of God must have a superior character. He must stand above the vices of the people of his time. Yet Muhammad’s life is that of a gangster godfather. He raided merchant caravans, looted innocent people, massacred entire male populations and enslaved the women and children. He raped the women captured in war after killing their husbands and told his followers that it is okay to have sex with their captives and their “right hand possessions” (Quran 33:50) He assassinated those who criticized him and executed them when he came to power and became de facto despot of Arabia. Muhammad was bereft of human compassion. He was an obsessed man with his dreams of grandiosity and could not forgive those who stood in his way. Muhammad was a narcissist like Hitler, Saddam or Stalin. He was astute and knew how to manipulate people, but his emotional intelligence was less evolved than that of a 6-year-old child. He simply could not feel the pain of others. He brutally massacred thousands of innocent people and pillaged their wealth. His ambitions were big and as a narcissist he honestly believed he is entitled to do as he pleased and commit all sorts of crimes and his evil deeds are justified.

Why Quran is not from God:

Muhammad produced no miracles and when pressed he claimed that his miracle is the Quran. Yet a cursory look at the Quran reveals that this book is full of errors. Quran is replete with scientific heresies, historic blunders, mathematical mistakes, logical absurdities, grammatical errors and ethical fallacies. It is badly compiled and it contradicts itself. There is nothing intelligent in this book let alone miraculous. Muhammad challenged people to produce a “Surah like it” or find an error therein, yet Muslims would kill anyone who dares to criticize it. In such a climate of hypocrisy and violence truth is the first casualty.

What is our goal?

We are apostates of Islam. We denounce Islam as a false doctrine of hate and terror. However we are not against Muslims who are our own kin and relatives. We do not advocate hate and violence. Muslims are the main victims of Islam. Our goal is to educate them and let them see the truth. We are against Islam and not the Muslims. We strive to bring the Muslims into the fold of humanity. Eradicate Islam so our people can be liberated, so they can prosper and break away from the pillory of Islam. We would like to see Islamic countries dedicate more time to science and less time to Quran and Sharia. We would like to see them prosper and contribute to human civilization. We would like to see the draconian laws of Islam eliminated and people are treated humanely. We strive for freedom of beliefs, for equality of gender and for oneness of humankind.

humankind’s biggest challenge:

Today the humanity is facing a great danger. Islamic fundamentalism is on the rise and the hatred is brewing in the minds of millions of Muslims. This hatred must be contained or there would be disastrous consequences. We believe that the education is the only answer. Muslim intellectuals must realize that Islam is a false doctrine and they must let the rest of Islamic world know the truth. Islam is a religion that thrives on the arrogant assumption that it is the most logical, the most scientific and the most perfect religion. While the fact is that it is the stupidest doctrine — the most backward and absurd belief. Once the truth about Islam becomes common knowledge, it will be weakened and the Islamic fanaticism will lose its fangs. Hundreds of billions of dollars are being expended to combat Islamic terrorism, yet no effort is made to contain the ideology behind this terrorism. It is our belief that Islamic terrorism will not be eliminated unless and until the ideology behind it is exposed and eradicated. This is what we intend to do.

There are several points to consider:

No one can confidently say what should and should not have been included in the bible since it was supposedly put together by a number of priests how can we be sure that some texts were not deliberately left out.

The gospel in question was written in ARAMAIC not ARABIC there is a clear difference.

To say that the Quaran is the only religious text containing violence is also untrue, people were killed by the instruction of God in the bible also, those who are unsure sure read again closely!

All those confidently pronouncing the bible as the only true text and including facts about when it was written and by who have no real evidence to back this up other then their FAITH. This faith is the same thing that binds muslims to believe that their religion is the truth so you cannot criticise the teachings of one religion without being a hypocrite.

No they claim it was written in Aramaic, which is an ancient Jewish language similar to Hebrew. But that doesn't still verify their claims. An archaeologist could easily study Aramaic, learn how to write it and write this piece of crap, after which they can easily make the paper look like an ancient artifact using some diy materials which can easily be found at home. If you think carefully, you will see that christ predictions are already coming true, matt 24:
And as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said to them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many will come in My name, saying, I am Christ, and will deceive many.
6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for all these things must occur; but the end is not yet.
7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in different places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then they will deliver you up to be afflicted and will kill you. And you will be hated of all nations for My name's sake.
10 And then many will be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate one another.
11 And many false prophets will rise and deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many will become cold.
13 But he who endures to the end, the same shall be kept safe.
And in order for us not to be confused, he said
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you believe, so that no one will take away your crown. My dear brothers and sisters in christ, Do not let any man confuse you, christ has predicted it all.

Re: Secret £14million Bible In Which 'jesus Predicts Coming Of Prophet Muhammad by Nobody: 5:03pm On Feb 27, 2012
Why are surprised that different gospels are springing up in different countries each with contradictory account of the life of Jesus. Dont you guys know that the the bibble is a collection of books written by different authors (some are even unknown) That is why it is full of irreconciliable contradictions. Some of the undisputable contradictions are as followss:
In the New Testament, there are contradictions between the genealogies of Jesus given in the first chapter of Matthew and the third chapter of Luke. Both genealogies begin with Jesus’ father, who is identified as Joseph (which is curious, given that Mary was supposedly impregnated by the Holy Ghost). But Matthew says Joseph’s father was Jacob, while Luke claims he was Heli. Matthew lists 26 generations between Jesus and King David, whereas Luke records 41. Matthew runs Jesus’ line of descent through David’s son Solomon, while Luke has it going through David’s son Nathan.

2. The story of Jesus' birth is also contradictory. Matthew 2:13-15 depicts Joseph and Mary as fleeing to Egypt with the baby Jesus immediately after the wise men from the east had brought gifts. But Luke 2:22-40 claims that after the birth of Jesus, his parents remained in Bethlehem for the time of Mary’s purification (which was 40 days, under the Mosaic law). Afterwards, they brought Jesus to Jerusalem "to present him to the Lord," and then returned to their home in Nazareth. Luke mentions no journey into Egypt or visit by wise men from the east.

3. Concerning the death of Judas, the disloyal disciple, Matthew 27:5 states he took the money he had received for betraying Jesus, threw it down in the temple, and "went and hanged himself." To the contrary, Acts 1:18 claims Judas used the money to purchase a field and "falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out."

4. In describing Jesus being led to his execution, John 19:17 recounts that he carried his own cross. But Mark 15:21-23 disagrees by saying a man called Simon carried the cross.

5. As for the crucifixion, Matthew 27:44 tells us Jesus was taunted by both criminals who were being crucified with him. But Luke 23:39-43 relates that only one of the criminals taunted Jesus, the other criminal rebuked the one who was doing the taunting, and Jesus told the criminal who was defending him, "Today shalt thou be with me in paradise."

6. Regarding the last words of Jesus while on the cross, Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34 quote Jesus as crying with a loud voice, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Luke 23:46 gives his final words as, "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit." John 19:30 alleges the last words were, "It is finished."

7. There are even contradictions in the accounts of the resurrection – the supposed event that is the very foundation of the Christian religion. Mark 16:2 states that on the day of the resurrection, certain women arrived at the tomb at the rising of the sun. But John 20:1 informs us they arrived when it was yet dark. Luke 24:2 describes the tomb as open when the women arrived, whereas Matthew 28:1-2 indicates it was closed. Mark 16:5 declares that the women saw a young man at the tomb, Luke 24:4 says they saw two men, Matthew 28:2 reports they saw an angel, and John 20:11-12 claims they saw two angels.

8. Also in the resurrection stories, there are contradictions as to the identity of the women who came to the tomb,[7] whether the men or angels the women saw were inside or outside the tomb,[8] whether the men or angels were standing or sitting,[9] and whether Mary Magdalene recognized the' risen' Jesus when he first appeared to her.

9. As a final example of a New Testament contradiction, the conflicting accounts of Paul’s conversion can be cited. Acts 9:7 states that when Jesus called Paul to preach the gospel, the men who were with Paul heard a voice but saw no man. According to Acts 22:9, however, the men saw a light but didn't hear the voice speaking to Paul.
