Mine was in 2010, two days before my wedding(April 3rd,2012). Thant April 1, my wife's elder sister who my wife was staying with called me as early as 6:00am and told me that my wife had fainted, that i should rush down with the car and take her to the hospital. Men, I just drove roughly in tension and almost ran down a couple of people on the way. Only for me to reach the house and they all ran out of the house and shouted April Fool. This morning I called my fiancee and after exchanging some few pleasantries, I started like this: 'Nkechi, I have a confession to make. I know U love me, but I hope U can handle this. I have been wanting to say this for a very long time, but I couldn't know the best time. I don't know how to start, but I need to start somewhere. The more I hold this to myself, the more harm it can cause. I don't know the effect of this on our relationship, but like a priest at the confessional, I want this to end between two of us. Are U ready to hear my confession?' She answer with a fainting voice, "what is please go straight to the point." At that point, I knew I've gotten her. So, I continued: 'Before I came home for your introduction last September, I got involve with a lady which I so much love. We got married in July last yr. Your introduction was just to please my parents and friends' She swallowed a thick saliva. 'Did U hear me?' she said YES. What is today's date? She said '1st' 'Do have a pen and paper to record this conversation?' I asked again. She responded, 'No need to write it down'. I said, 'Okay, but U note today's date well?' She said 'YES' with her voice becoming fainter. I knew something will happen if I end the call without telling her. I continued, 'Today is the 1st of which month?', to which She said '1st of April'. I quickly added, APRIL FOOL!!! |

Well, i haven't seen my girl in 4months. Last week, i've been assuring her i'll suprise her. This morning, i went to the main road in order to have d effect of movin cars. I called and asked where to alight at abuja and which cab to board to her place after that. She was so happy. Around 11am, i asked her to meet me at the car park. When she got there she called only to realise the truth. She was so sad and angry i had to pacify her by promising a visit this week. I'm already cooking up lies to be absent from office from weds to sunday. I wish i never fooled her, now i'll be spending almost 50k in travellin and some feeding.. she vehemently refused a cash gift of almost half of that.. Damn!! |

April 1, 2012. . .None, nada, nil, zilch, nothing. . .Guess I've gotten too serious with life  April 1, 2011. . .Yea, kinda popular but I got MOST of my friends (even closer pals) wishing me happy birthday online.  April 1, 2010. . .Boring morning, called my friend up while he was at work to tell him I just got my money paid that's been held on for too long (which he was aware) and was congratulating me but then I replied "April fool" to which he replied saying I'm pranking with such when others are making money with theirs. I felt sad like "this guy don gimme better yabbing this morning in angry response to my prank". When I got the gist from him on the way forward, trust me to follow suit in the LOTS that carried that massive attack in the year 2010. I composed a disturbing text on mobile in Pidgin and English based on who was being pranked (Nonso, abeg I dey 1 big shit. Abeg help me wit 750 mtn. Pls its urgent. I no fit buy credit here. Sledge). I began to forward the message to selected contacts in my phone while I put their names and there, the deed was done. While some called back, I had to pretend I could not talk due to all not being well at that point in time. Long story short, I ended up with call credit of over 7500 in my phone as I had to bill people based on how I weighed 'em. (Even got the credit sent till the next day) Few even apologised for sending lesser than asked while some inconvenienced themselves for my sake to which I replied when I got the pin. (Nonso, thank u so mch, u're a dear friend. Happy New Mnth & APRIL FOOL) Damn, many did not find it funny and a particular babe avoided speaking with me for weeks while I begged like there was no tomorrow  For my friend, he got about 8,000 worth of airtime and said a female colleague of his got more than 15,000 of airtime (paid for her BIS and did some share and sell to her man who was her fiance then)  Some still dey draw me for their airtime sha but I don tell dem say e go with the season. |

Woke up dat faithful mrn only 2 hear frm dis guy dat Akala(ex gov)n deputy ve been assassinated by unknown gunmen in d early hours of dt day.I was shocked cos I knw wat d cud result in2 in a city like IB.
