Funny enough i think Ibime is right to a large extent. While those guys mentioned e.g Redondo where probably better footballers than Makelele, IN MY OPINION none of them had the understanding of what it took to protect the defence that Makelele had.
As footballers there were many better midfielders than Makelele, but he was the best defensive midfielder of them all.....IN MY OPINION.
