Hello forum, I will be going to southafrica next week, I will be going with an invitation and my host will be taking care of my accommodation and welfare, do I still need bta? |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by yinksob002: 11:53am On Aug 10, 2015 |
Just try and hold some cash and possibly your ATM card to avoid any form of harassment. You may be lucky to escape interrogation but it's still advisable you hold some personal cash as BTA. Also, ensure you have basic info about your host as they may ask you questions about him when you get to SA. Do have a safe trip. BOWOTO: |

meagainstdem: The MSc. Study visa application is still on, though there is an information on the notice board in the south africa high commission lagos office that application for MSc. Study visa has been suspended till november, however, you can still go and apply, they are accepting applications. But your programme is starting Jan 2016, they may ask you to come back by november to apply, processing time is about 6wks, but u can go on any tuesday btw 9am-12pm to make enquiries about when to apply and also how to go about the application for your kids. @the kids, I think you need to file separate applications for yourself and your wife first, after your visa has been granted, either of you may now file an application for your kids as accompanying relatives. Though there is also a section in your application where you will indicate if you have relatives that will need to accompany you. I'll advice you apply for the kids using your own visa when granted because you will have a longer stay than your wife since you are going for a PhD and she is going for masters. PhD will most definitely be longer. I hope this information helps. 1 Like |

brooklyn20: Pls what documents do a family of four (husband, wife and 2 children) need to apply for a family trip to SA? Is there a family visa fee or a visa fee applies to all. Wife hasn't changed her passport after marriage, does it matter since her maiden name is what appears. Pls advice. Thanks. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by yinksob002: 7:24pm On Aug 16, 2015 |
The maiden name on her passport poses no problem provided you include a copy of your marriage certificate. Secondly, each applicant will pay visa fees individually. The following docs are required: 1) Duly completed visitors visa application form 2) Valid International passport 3) Two passport photo each (White background) 4) Flight reservation 5) Paid Hotel booking in SA 6) Six mths bank statement i.e proof of sufficient funds for the proposed trip 7) Yellow fever vaccination card Letter of Introduction introducing yourself and other members of your family as well as the purpose and duration of the intended trip, your current occupation e.t.c 9) Copy of your marriage certificate 10) Proof of employment ( Business documents if self employed or employers letter of introduction & pay slips) emperorlog: |
