My baby is also taking it. My elder sis recommended it but she didn't say it's for Vit D. She just told me that consistent use of it will make my baby's skin glow.

I personally, dont see why a baby younger than 1yr should take cod liver oil. If the baby is being breastfed and/or taking a good formula, there is really no need for any additional thing. But when they start walking, the weight bears on the legs (especially in big babies), and if they didnt have Vit D stored up, or aren't eating enough (we all know how toddlers are picky eaters) to get the required nutrients....the bones are not as hard cos of the inadequate Vit D. Babies generally have some degree ofbowness...just that some are more severe than others. My son wasn't a big baby...his legs have always been straight, from the start.

Besides...excess Vit A is not good for anyone. Cos it is fat soluble and gets stored in the body. And cod liver oil contains large amounts of it...so you have to be careful with the dosage. It has other good stuff like dha and vit d tho.

There should be directions on the pack/bottle I guess...but most are to be used within 24-48hrs, and refrigerated.
