My mind did a trip right there. My legs felt like
running off and my head felt like exploding.
My eyes were almost burning while my hands
just hung stiff on my side
She noticed all these and asked
“what is wrong”?

Then my voice came back to me and I got
control
“no I was just too pleased and I did not want
to interrupt you”
“the truth is that, I had felt that way since the
first day I saw you but I did not know how
it will make you feel hence, I was glad being
just friends but I would love that a lot”

She just smiled, came closer to me and
planted a kiss on my right cheek
Then she stepped back said “good night” and
walked into her house.
I watched her go into her house a million
times even though it happened only once.

I stood rooted to the ground right there and it
was like I had eyes were everywhere. Every
motion in her walk, every impact of her foot
on the ground which made her body bounce
was recorded by me and I realized that I did
not like this girl, I was in love with her.

Browsing with my phone sucks but its no excuse

My sleep was sound that night.
Deep, dreamless and long and I
woke up with a big smile on my
face.
I was up earlier than usual. I went to
brush my mouth and went to the
sitting room because I saw the light
turned on there. I walked in half
expecting to see mum watching a
movie or reading a book but there
was no one there. I switched the
lights off and was about going to
bed when it came back on.

I almost jumped. I turned back and
looked around fast, there was no
one there but me. Looked at the
switch and saw that at the position
it was, the bulb was not supposed to
be on.
Some courage was summoned in me
as a thought came into me. The
switch must be faulty, which must
explain the bulb being left on in the
first when I heard it
It sounded like footsteps: steady and
regular. Quite and soft, they were
coming from my mum’s room and I
made for the room. She must be up
working again. I was at her door
when I heard it again: this time, they
came from the sitting room. But it
could not be from the sitting room, I
was there and the light was on. I
walked out and headed for my her
room and tried to open the door
when I saw a shadow move in the
sitting room.
I stopped moving. A part of me
wanted to walk back to the sitting
room while another part (the smart
part) was headed to my mum. I
almost saw another shadow with
the corner of my eyes in another
part and I ran for my mum’s room.
