Well noted but the 2006 only available trims are 325 and 330 and 2007 trims are 328 and 335
yungboss:

It seems there. Is not much house experience on the E53 X5.

I guess I'll just hope for the best while expecting the worst.
Re: BMW Owners' Forum by godssonibk: 4:32pm On Dec 24, 2013
Please do consider 3.0 as the motor is better. I used to own an E53 3.0 with all the options and it Looks almost like the 4.4 just without the nav and bigger engine. I thin the x5 4,4 litres share same engine with the 2003/04 range rover (L322) and this could be difficult to maintain.

Gee2728:

So sad brother. Those guys have a way of not minding there biz. Nxt time ur A/C goes warm pls check the cabin filter b4 any gas issue comes up. Had a similar experience with my kompressor only 2 find out the cabin filter was blocked with dirt.

Thanks bro, seems there's truly a leak because there wasn't much pressure left in the system today when i checked and there's no leakage in the lines. Will monitor it till tomorrow morning.

Tnx for the tip, the only issue I have with the 3.0i is that tru out it production life-span 1999-2006 its was thesame engine and power out-put 231bhp. Still wonder how a big car could move on jst 231bhp. If I were 2 go for the 3.0i then I'll stick 2 any of the year range even without the navigation screen cos they all look same except for slight facial make-up and panorama roof..

While u had urs how was the fuel consumption what were the particular issue u had with it and are it spare parts readily available? Will appreciate that. Tnx
Re: BMW Owners' Forum by godssonibk: 10:23pm On Dec 24, 2013
It actually depends on the individual car. I swear with BMWs it's the luck of the draw. I have seen some E53's with high kms and with only scheduled maintenance costs and I have seen some absolute lemons. In my experience with the 3,0 the E53 is the best of the premium SUVs of that age. I have driven a RR but I prefer E53 to the earliest Cayenne and the RR which I found to be a major let down in terms of dynamics and keeping me interested in driving.
The best thing to do if you really like the X5 is to take it on a long drive (overnight or weekender if possible), get it checked out by a reputable specialist, make sure it has a good history, and when you do buy, don't skimp on maintenance..The fuel consumption is not bad and the power is not bad as you might think, just stick with the 3,0 and you will enjoy it.

Gee,
you've got a fair amount of responses from specific users, my Mechanic cannot be reached, for now so I can't help that much here...but its good you have made up your mind, for me, if I have to pull a truck of that magnitude, it definitely has to be a V8...no question...
Re: BMW Owners' Forum by izyoku: 8:15am On Dec 26, 2013
@samuelk anytime you drop off your car please keep a watchful eyes on this guys. I dropped my new E90 at the car wash and had to watch the guy all the way. He washes myother car but he got into the bimmer and got confused I just noticed immediately and asked him to come down and I drove the car exactly to where he wanted and I supervised the washing. With this toys peeps we need to be careful owned this car for 3days now and I understand this is not mynormal Honda accord.

To be honest, after getting this e46 BMW I often ask myself, "why do people love these Japanese cars so much?"

v8, hmmmm u try with all the horror stories have read on line. honestly been compering it to a w163 ml350, the x5 3.0i beats it all through in looks and design and am guessing even in performance. the mech told me the I6 are easy to deal with and the parts are readily available.

compered to that 'dead' looking ML interior, the X5 looks so plush and looks like to last a long time and also more expensive.
despite all the bad reviews, since the parts are available and fixable i think a well look after 100k miles should be a good bargain.

yes i said 100k miles cos at least all the 60k miles break down will all ready have occurred and possibly sorted out. will let you know when i find one.
Re: BMW Owners' Forum by izyoku: 9:51am On Dec 27, 2013
The E90 is really fun to drive been having fun whipping mine across Lagos during the holidays. But mehn bimmer is low sha...it just puts a reminder on your mind this is a low car man. It puts that conciousness on your mind no matter what that Nigerian roads apart from maybe Abuja and KD are not really built for bimmer saloon and coupe cars

I still have an eye for the e90, but not so comfortable yet with the electrical niggles...one dislike I have for the e90 is the lack of dipstick to monitor engine oil level.
because of other needs I'm thinking of going the 'Toyota Tacoma' way. still considering it anyways

Na wa ooh, from E90 to toyota tacoma. The disparity in ur choice na wa ooh. Hmmm R350, rly dnt know much about it and its got that school bus looks. Want. Something that looks tough and say out my way from the rare view mirror. Saw like 2 E53 X5 on a trip 2 day and rly felt goo about it. Still cnt get my mind off that car.

I wonder Y a V8 X5 still has 2 cost so much 2 maintain despite it poor gas mileage and cost of initial purchase.

yes Gee, it's a need for my business next year, its going to be for business purposes...
I'm not a true lover of the SUVs, I like them sedan...
Gee, go for the V8, that car moves like a sedan, it's faster and more sporty than a range, my uncle had the two at a time and he preferred the X,
it's not cheap to maintain though,4.4l v8...( engine used in the e39 540i)
Re: BMW Owners' Forum by izyoku: 9:43am On Dec 28, 2013
Yes @yungboss you can't check anything on the E90 no dipstick to guage anything but car is really nice. And from all the reviews I read online didn't see anyone complain about any electrical niggles atleast on the 328i I have. Car is firm handles super trans is like butter on bread...car holds bridepride to any and every road. It marries the road as a true ultimate driving machine

oh for real man, I know you're going to really really enjoy the car...that's a 3.0l engine if I'm not wrong...it'll annihilate most cars on the road...i wonder how it stacks up with the e36 m3...i seem not to be able to get over my love for that car, just they way Emperoh loves the e46 325xi

nice one bro. i'll own a V8 someday but not this E53 x5. with all the horror tales about leaking power steering fluid, failed transmission jst to mention a few. i'll be looking at possibly at audi or lexus for a V8. but for now just to move the family on vacation and moving bigger stuffs i guess the I6 will do just fine.

the timeline is hopefully end of nxt month. contacted the agent in florida today and he gave me the following quote $12,500 for a regular version and $14,000 for the sports package. he said the cheapest they got at their dealership is $10,400. n/b all 2005 models. he sent me 2 pics, one is a V8 the other is an I6 so am still not sure which price is which. will still get in touch to clear the air about it.
