Update- Passport delivered and visa granted. I returned all glory to the almighty God, and many thanks to @Justwise and other people who advised when I was so confused.
@dramadiddy, hope you also hear good news from them soon.

Ademidun1:
Good evening @Justwise and all the gurus here.
Please read my write up and kindly advise me on the next step to take. This is my story:

Submitted visa application: August 1.
Biometrics: August 23- Standard.
After 30 working days, when I didn’t hear any news, I sent a paid message and I got a reply that a decision had been made.
After 35 working days, sent another paid message, I was told that they’ve escalated my case and that I should wait for 15 working day’s from the date of my escalation to get a response.
Then 3 weeks ago, I got a BRP mail. Since then, nothing.
When it was 50 working days, I sent another mail, they said they have now re- escalated the issue and to wait for a response. 2 days later, I got a decision mail that visa has been approved. What baffles me is that the decision letter was dated August.
Since last week that the decision was letter sent to my mail, I’ve been tracking and still at DMC. Please how else can I escalate this matter? I paid for courier and passport has not been delivered yet.
Anyone that has been in my shoe before to kindly advise me as I don’t know what else to do. Thank you.

Thank you for your advice. I will call them.

Hi Ademidun1,

At this stage it is a bit puzzling but things are slow.

Can you ring Ukvi directly on +44 (0)203 875 4669?.They should be able to trace on the system what has happened and sort this mix up as against sending Emails which have not yielded results.

I hope this is all over soon.

Thanks Justwise. It is well.

Sadly this is becoming common and there is no other solution other than calling and emailing them till it comes out

I missed out “not”. I’ve edited the main post.
Passport is yet to be delivered.
esdajo:
The last paragraph though. Has the passport been delivered or not yet as you claimed it’s been delivered and I wonder what the issues might be.

about the COS- all i got was a number , kindly clarify if there's a letter i need from my employers too
thanks
Well, my employer sent my COS to my mail in PDF format which included the COS number, my salary and other details. At the tls center, they asked me to present my COS evidence and I gave them. I think you should ask your employer to send you in case....

please did you pay for priority visa
also you did not mention police clearance certificate....did you submit these

Congratulations!!!
Thank you so much.
1. I didn't pay for priority visa. It was purely standard visa application.
2. I forgot to add police report. You have to do police clearance and attach. You should get it the same day in Lagos, all things being equal; or at least the following day.

Dear fellow nairalanders,
I've been a silent reader on this group; even before I had the opportunity to apply for tier 2 visa which looked like a mountain lol. Maybe because there was no thread that is specifically for tier 2 visa applications. I came to this forum and asked few questions. I want to share our timeline(me and my wife) to encourage others.
Biometrics- 09/10/2017.
Acknowledgement mail from Sheffield- 11/10/2017.
Decision mail from tls- 24/10/2017.
Passports with visa collected on 26/10/2017.
I acknowledge God for being ever faithful. I thank Justwise and other people who answered the questions I asked here. God bless you all.
NB- We submitted our biometrics in Abuja, went with a lot of documents including photocopies of our previous passports, wedding and other family pictures, offer letter from my employer, evidence of accommodation mail, cover letter etc. They didn't collect them at all the tls office. The only documents they collected were:
1. Front pages of our visa application print out.
2. Valid international passports.
Marriage certificate, COS print out l, police clearance and TB certificates were only collected, scanned and returned to us immediately. I was so confused and angry at the same time. I asked them why they didn't allow us to support supporting documents we brought, but the lady that attended to us said that according to the new rule, they didn't need any other thing.
I became so worried and to crown it all, the decision was made within 2 weeks of biometrics.
What I learned from the whole thing is that, when God says the time to do something is now, no one can say no. I'm so grateful to Him.
I pray for all those waiting for their visas too, that you will hear good news too. Amen!!

Thank you
From my little experience, I'll still say you picked Abuja at your initial stage of filling your form. Maybe you didn't know. Because if not, they shouldn't have given you Abuja as the only option for your biometrics.

Dear nairalanders,
I've searched through the whole topics related to tier 2 visa application for UK Tier 2 point based system and I've not seen a thread that is majorly for this. I don't know why this is so.
Please if you have passed through this process successfully, kindly give one or two advise on what is needed for this application to be successful. I'll like people to share their experience concerning this visa application.
Thank you.

Good evening house. I have a quick question. Please, what is the address to be put on cover letter? Should it be addressed to the consular in Abuja or the Entry Clearance Officer? Thank you.

Use the additional info section of the applation form to address anything that needs clarificarion. You can use a separate sheet like a letter (written in ink) for more indept explanations since the section for additional info is limited to a number of characters.

Dear great people on this forum,
I want to apply for tier 2 visa shortage occupation with my wife as my dependent. We have a 2 year old son, but we do not want to take him along for now. We made the decision because we want to be well settled before we take him there. He will stay with my mum here in Nigeria for now.
My questions are:
1. Won't it be a problem that we decided we don't want to take our child with us for now? Won't it raise any eyebrows?
2. Do I need to fill a separate form for my wife, or I'll just mention her in my own form?
I'll await your clarifications on these questions. I'm grateful
Pls help me with these questions biko
