Not really seem to be diverting your attention but i think learning a modern and easy to learn programming language like Microsoft CSharp will do you a great favour. I wprk with that anyway. Cos i have worked with VB, Java, C++ and others but this is the best to me so far.

Which dotnet framework version are you working with and the programme template u are using. Win forms, web, mvc or others.

Agreed it's a web development IDE. But instead of using that of 2005, there have been development on the IDE over the years. The latest is VS 2011, still under testing anyway. This is development tool for ASP.NET Web Form, Silverlight, ASP.net MVC and others. Where are you? I should be able to give you a copy of VS 2010. I developed application wt it, not only for web but for window forms and window phone 7 too.

Coding which is equivalent to programming, testing, maintaining, documentation of artifacts, good User experience and interface, data integrity, are all embedded in the act of good software development. But of course we have many coders and little software developers out there. To most clients the standard is not the issue but for the solution architect to deliver.
