Abagworo:

My issue is that Imo has been consistently APC but the FG has neglected the State since 2015 and building roads and bridges for Anambra and Abia that have been opposition. Imo Governor has been preoccupied with federal roads while the State roads suffer. The FG should at least help us in just Ihiala-Orlu-Umuduru federal road.
that aligning with the center talk is just a smokescreen

You people should stop making baseless assertions on Nairaland.

The most popular states and cities of Nigeria are the fastest growing ones; these are Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.

Nigerians and foreigners invest billions of naira in those places, their governments are doing relatively well, and their real estate industries are about to explode.
fastest growing cities from data is neither what you wrote or what the person you quoted said

That Assumpta roundabout is where Onitsha road ends. It does not require any flyover there.

well his performance in the education sector for eg is near zero

What Soludo should be looking at,is how to bring in the private sector into this vision, govt is a bad manager,we need it to be private sector driven.I am sure Anambra will never lack investors whom will be willing to key into this...Barth Nnaji of geometric power and Emeka offor of EEDC are both from Anambra and will also be willing to invest in the project....Ndigbo will get it right and with visionary leaders in place,we will move from strength to strength.

Please ohanku road has a pending issues with the last contractor handling it and it's still under probe by current government.

Okezie Ikpeazu government said they have completed the payment of the road to the contractor and the contractor is denying it, so Dr Alex Oti has asked for an investigation of the books of accounts of government to know what really happened.

Some indicted contractors has also started the construction of most roads Okezie government paid for which was abounded, like Ukaegbu road recoating at ogbor hill. Glass force road reconstruction going on now and emelogu road which has been completed.
hmmm i have been wondering what was delaying the start of the road( ohanku) ..obohia is another one

And you saying it isn't needed anywhere there?? On the long 26km road??
how is flyover needed on that road? Because it is 26 km? Are there any major congested junction on that road? Even interchanges self..is it not a largely rural road?

Tell soludo to add flyovers and interchange to his snake roads to beautify it.

He doesn't have class or he don't see how other governors do theirs??
you don't add flyovers and interchanges just for the sake of it or for beauty..you do it where it is needed

if he did those roads and they are in the condition they are now then it means the work done there that time was not indepth enough because work needed to be done in those areas goes beyond just gutter and asphalting

I am not sure the construction of onuimo to abia tower has started

The are some parts of this road i saw that doesn't look good.. in some of the pics the shoulders of the road aren't covered with asphalt or concrete just sand..that is disaster waiting to happen...some also with an area I saw that looked like a former erosion site

Bitter mind, so they should waste resources dualizing rural areas, I guess you are blinded by hate to notice ongoing dualisation of roads in major cities Onitsha, Awka, Ekwulobia, even in rural areas Anambra have the best network of roads in the country

Chinese and Indians don’t allow such ‘competition’ in their own facilities. They prioritise local firms and industries, and foreigners get 20% space, max.

Unlike you people, they don’t see why they should spend big money on such a project, only to fill it up with foreigners.

there is no law or rule stopping indigenous people setting up outfits..if the local people do not want to for whatever reason let foreigners come ..just set up a law to guide them

Same thing I’m wondering, my brother.

We set up something like this, and the first thing we think of is to fill it up with foreigners.

What about our own people?

How will they grow?

When the Chinese and Indians set up these facilities in their countries, they don’t look for foreigners to fill up the place. It’s for their own local industries and business people.
do you want to grow the the economy of abia or not? If indians and Chinese show interest in setting up business there does it stop indigenous people from setting up theres? I thought igbos prided themselves as people who aren't afraid of competition?

not a bad point, but be aware that they are coming to insult you constantly. If it were chinese, that is ok.
I actually see no difference between them and chinese..indians are more vocal ( well we are igbos aren't we and we are known for not taking shit ) while chinese more of action( ask people that work in chinese outfits in nigeris and hear stories) ...so it still boils down to what your government allows

You do not want a influx of these people into your african city unless you want to learn why Idi Amin deported them all in his time. Why not upgrade the thousands of micro factories in Aba?
that one will still happen..if they want to come let them come..it is left for you to make laws to curtail whatever is their excesses..

I wish Nigerians would end their love affair with these 'flyovers' lol. The rest of the world did then in the 70s and have now realized it was a mistake.
I have never been a fan of flyovers...I believe they are an afterthought or a way to correct a planning mistake done initially
