Ok guys I've got a problem. Being a gamer in nigeria we fall under constant threat of power outages ruining our play sessions now I'm sure one or two of you have experience corrupted save data on your ps3 when the electricity goes off as you save. Now the problem I'm having is that I was playing borderlands on my ps3 and it shut of while saving. My save file is corrupt now and I can't acess it though its still in my harddrive but is displayed as unknown file. Anyway though I usually just do a system restore and the file is well restored but this time my file still remains corrupt on my ps3. Should I delete the file and start my game over? Or is there a way around it?

However I've played mmo's a lot on my friends pc but I'd like to know cause I want to buy a new pc.What specs should I keep my eye on for MMO's and a fast framerate while playing?

Umm well I played ratchet and clank on ps2 and skipped to ps3 and then there was spyro from the ps1 to the gameboy version then there was I believe tekken 2(ps1) then tekken 5(ps2,psp) then there was crash bandicoot from ps1 to psp then crash racing on PC

One thing were all forgetting though is that there is the ESRB that rates the level of maturity for a player to play a game. I remember when I was 11 I couldn't buy a bounty hunter game on ps2 cause it was rated AO (adults only). On the other hand people are considered adults at 18 in most societies for a reason cause it is assumed from this age people know the difference between good or evil so considering the age rating GTA 5 is aimed at (btw its written at the lower left corner of the box) it solely depends on the individual . Now the problem here lies in younger gamers since the gaming industry is not controlled by by the government, there is no total control over what gets to younger audiences except adult intervention so as far as I'm concerned GTA isn't the problem its simply a case of cultivation

Gaming / Top 7 Ps3 Exclusives To Play Before You Move To Next Gen by awaeardfdfrfd: 9:54pm On Nov 22, 2013
Hey gamer's so I believe from last week next gen had begun with release of the ps4 and 3 games I believe. Anyway though for those who plan on sticking with current gen for a while (myself included) I have created a list of the Ps3 exclusive games that if you have possibly missed should play. It should be noted that the games that will be listed are Ps3 EXCLUSIVES so if there is no GTA 5 on this list please don't send me hate messages cause I will probably ignore you. Anyway though let's begin. NUMBER 7:INFAMOUS: while this game was one of the early ps3 games released it is not impressive technically for those who are more comfortable with a game with high graphics resolution stuff like that. Basically it does not have the graphics nor profficiency as the games you've probably played this year but what is great about this game is character. Cole macgrath is a delivery boy asked to deliver a package which turns out to be a bomb that wipes out a portion of empire city. Cole macgrath wakes up to discover he's been granted super powers in which players are given the option to either bring the inhabitants of empire city to their knees or be the cliche selfless hero everyone is used to protecting the city from weird superpowered enemies. ITS in these moral choices that shape the story, while still reaching a similar conclusion the game will keep you interested to make you want to see both endings and the different abilities you can have. Check it out. NUMBER 6:RATCHET and CLANK future series: someone out there mustve seen this coming. With lovely rendered HD worlds to look for bolts and buy sweet weapons(RYNO 5 baby!) and armor and loads of humour to put a smile on your face while you play, ratchet has never looked this good.EVER!!. This is a great ps3 exclusive that needs to be played unfortunately though there is no multiplayer hence its position on the list. NUMBER 5: THE UNCHARTED GAMES: while the main standing point of the uncharted games have been story oriented, it is a notably Good looking game I mean this game has wonderful graphics and the places you get to see and explore look wonderful and the characters are great . Did I mention this game has good graphics? Although ill like to note most of the gameplay involves climbing and some preety uninteresting 3rd person shooting. But one things for sure Naughty dog made a lot of effort into making this a truly spectacular game in terms of story.so if you like that sort of thing I suggest you play. The uncharted games, did I meantion how good these graphics are? And I think this is the only game I've seen that's got a physics engine for going down stairs. NUMBER 4: Jak and daxter HD collection: the games that started naughty dogs debut to the ps2 these 3 games put into one blu ray disc on ps3 and Vita were one of those memorable games so awesome that sony saw it necessary to recreate these classic games in HD on the ps3. And with 3 games this game will last you for dozens of hours. Oh and be prepared for that immense difficulty spike in jak 2 . NUMBER 3: THE elder scrolls 5 skyrim: ok so maybe this isn't a ps3 exclusive but I couldn't help but not include this.while the preffered console to play this on would be on pc due to a much tolerable framerate. This game is a fun ride on any platform . There are no words I can use to explain how amazing this game is. Skyrim is a beautiful sprawling world with a lot of shit to do you wouldn't even believe with an AI that records everything to do I mean EVERYTHING corpses stay dead for weeks in game time before respawning , left a sword you couldn't carry in a tavern? Come back a month later and its still there even when you've left that area a long time ago. In skyrim nothing ever feels scripted and it has lots of replay value. The music is amzing and immersis you into the world. This is a truly fantastic game that everyone needs to be played. PC is the better system though and the combat leaves much to be desired however this is a truly memorable game. NUMBER 2: GOD of war 3: there were two contenders for number 2 on this list but I decided to go with God of war 3. While this game was released in 2010, this game never feels dated even after years after its release. The game begins with a titanic battle against poseiden which is as EPIC as it sounds. Kratos has never been angrier and as this being kratos's last frontier on the gods of olympus players get to see the effect of the feud between kratos and the gods on the mortal world. It is truly an epic experience if you have missed this game I suggest you buy this. NUMBER 1:infamous 2: while a big leap from infamous 1 in terms of technicality. Infamous 2 is a game that will appeal better with gamers who prefer graphics over gameplay. While still featuring similar mechanics to the last infamous, what makes infamous 2 feature on the number one on this list is that compared to the last game, infamous 2 up's the anty with moral choices coinciding with character development . without releasing spoilers, players get elemental powers depending on which moral choice they follow and the boss fights are more epic and interactive than the last. NUMBER 0: THE LAST of US: hahahaaha I bet no one saw that coming anyway though I just saw it necessary to put this in to the list since I had forgotten. The last of us is a game by naughty Dog the developers of the uncharted and jak and daxter series. I just have to say since I've never played the walking dead or the wolf among us Which are very noteworthy games for their storyline. I personally have never seen storytelling told this good since metal gear solid 4. Joel and ellie are amazing characters and throughout the game you watch these two characters relationships grow and your feelings towards them grow along with the characters as well. This is a truly amazing game if you take your time to flow along with the story. I've never cared about characters this much since metal gear solid 4. So that's it my list of the top 7 ps3 exclusives you should play before moving to next gen. It should be noted from my previous mentions of metal gear solid 4 that it couldve been a top number on this list but I decided to hold off on that to not bore readers. I'd like to see what other people wouldve added in their list or what games they feel shouldve held a spot on the list as this was my personal opinion

Old games rock I remember buying the elder scrolls 4 oblivion last year and played that game for straight up 5 months. You won't believe how much content and replayability this game has. So much to do its overwhelming. I had just reached level 53 until my save file got corrupted and I had to quit. Apart from that I couldve played that game for a year

lol actually though among my classmates I was nicknamed ghost probably cause I new the exact respawn areas of everyone so immediately they were respawned I killed them especially in nuke town and when there was a big firefight I ran away (for some reason that's what brought about my cod nickname"ghost" cause as I ran I somehow managed to avoid conflict altogether) . I only ever lost on 3 maps cause they were too huge and my friends took advantage of my bad eyesight to flank me from rooftops plus they used camourflage. Especially in that forest map in the original black ops

Bawss1: In recent times, within the gaming crowd ,it seems the cool thing to do is to lash out on COD. cheesy

It's understandable that not everyone likes COD but the reasons cited on this thread are vacuous. The post above says it lacks a decent storyline like most FPS. Really? Can the poster kindly furnish us with a list of 3 other FPS aside Halo that have "better" story lines?

While at it can anyone also list any current FPS that has any marked improvements from its prequel? (Aside Battlefield 4, of course grin)

Call of Duty is a huge franchise because it offers gamers quick and intense fun bouts unlike many other FPS. The current iteration, Ghost, does indeed contain some additions/improvements albeit not on the scale to be labelled as innovative.

Activision's formula has worked well for them in the past. Don't expect them to change it.

Gaming / Re: Grand Theft Auto In Africa: Does It Promote Violence? by awaeardfdfrfd: 11:19am On Nov 09, 2013
smajatt: i can boastfully say it does not promote violence in Africa. See the major factor behind violence in this part of the world considering all factors such as education, literacy, exposure, socialization etc. is the goverment, most violent acts in Nigeria for example are been political fired "which i belive most of them would say its just for a moment but at the end it grows out of hand". take for example firearms, how many youth can afford to get an ak47,let us be realistic, most arms are been given to these youth by political leaders for their own evil agenda and there after they don't even bother to take account of the arms already in circulation again. one thing i know about Africa is that we have culture and goes a long way in education and beliefs we hold.
Now on the other hand games like GTA has a lot of negative influence on youths in developed countries like the US unfortunately for countries like that they legalize possession of firearms in other words even if i don't have a firearm but my dad has 1 all i have to do is to just pick up his rifle and go ahead joy spreeing an entire classroom just because i was depressed. their inventions and commitments over there seems to values life but some of the things they do for luxury e.g media, games etc promotes violence.
i agree

Jak 2 on ps2 I remember I broke the CD that day cause I couldn't beat a mission .after that, I tried attempting a street race and failed multiple times I was enraged don't get me wrong though jak 2 is a great game. Next is mortal kombat shaolin monks I have to admit I cried for this one hahahahahahaha. Anyway though I had reached the final boss shao kan you know that part were you have to beat 3 fighters at once then finally WiTh the same health bAR beat shao kan. THIS was impossible and I was so frustrated I threw the game away after loosing the 5th time and having to watch that unskippable cutscene of shao kan slamming my blood filled body onto his throne . It was trauma LOL

No I don't think so mehn considering the type of society we live in and our cultures and norms, I doubt it affects nigerians negatively although I suspect the case in the long run due to socialisation. Although I have noticed some psychological effects in the sense that since I started playing video games in 2002 , I have been easily angered though I'm not sure if this has to do with my surroundings, personality or an unknown effect from video games in general

Gaming / Why Call Of Duty Sucks by awaeardfdfrfd: 8:42am On Nov 07, 2013
Ok ok so I think its about time I expressed my utter dislike of activisions latest blockbuster franchise COD. Ironically I started playing COD from the first mordern warfare however I had only ever played multiplayer in mordern warfare 2 so I have no knowledge of the single player campaign but I did play mordern warfare 3 to its full extent and black ops and blacks ops 2 and I just have to say. Why do people buy an upgrade of the Same game they've been playing for years no wait wait I seem to recall COD ghosts releasing yesterday that would mean this recent adaptation of call of duty is just a few months later from black ops 2 . See the thing is you cannot miss something when it does not go away . When you keep on scrapping the barrel less than a year after the last game it gets stale but for some reason people still love this game . I've played call of duty multiplayer and I have to say its fun until its not fun because for some reason there are too many fanboys who form a vendetta when they loose. A match therefore turns into survival one thing I noticed though is that after spending hours trying to level up and finding a respectable position on the leaderboards I go to bed and somehow I have sunk so low down even noobs of yesterday start kicking my ass. Don't THEY SLEEP? , I don't even want to get started on the dumb arguments . Anyway though I was about to say when there is less time made by the developers in creating a new game it means either they have a big team or they are not giving effort of bringing new things rather than the same thrills we've already experienced over and over. Look at GTA 5 for instance, since san andreas on the ps2 it had been 7 years since we ever heard of or saw san andreas. Gta 5 took us back to a much bigger san andreas adding new characters , a bigger world, a san andreas IN HD and 3 characters way more intereresting than the cliche life of crime were so accustomed to plus online free roaming with friends? See what I'm talking bout? 7 years into developing a single game. As far as I'm concerned that's commitment and they gave us a splendid game. Activision on the other hand is feeding you the same bullshit over and over . Btw this review of the COD franchise is based solely subjectively and I'd like to see other peoples opinions in the comments below
