Business / Re: Naira gain: Pressure Mounts On FX Hoarders To Sell Off Dollars by bakila: 4:40pm On Mar 24
onatisi:
The dollar will still rise ,because many industries are closing businesses now . This will in turn increase importations of goods .
What can solve this problem is to increase local production of goods ,increase local consumption and patronage of locally made goods , improve and invest truthfully and solidly in agriculture in order to increase food production and lastly reduce corruption drastically

Although Nigeria is RIDDLED with problems, it's still an insult for a small fry like Ghana to consider themselves our "rival".
I checked online today and realized, we budgeted same dollar amount for our nation like Ghana. I am in shock.

Properties / Re: Facts About Living In "Face Me I Face You Apartment"? by bakila: 8:24am On Feb 27
ajerimitan:
Face me I slap you apartment has different levels. It is called civilian barracks for a reason. It can make you learn a lot and mature faster via experience gathering. The worst place one of so to say that I have ever lives was down one street at mile 12 market area. It was a typical slum with nylon laid on sawdust and built a with scrap roofing sheet and tapolyn or flex banner. The toilet was so bad and the bathroom was nothing to write home about. I actually stayed there for days. Funny enough the electricity in that area was constant and the environment was two worlds apart the filthy rich on the side of the fenced estate and the shantytown or slum on the other side. The place was actually built on a scarped dump site and mostly owned by scavengers and waste to Wealth bolars. I got one of the best advice from there after my days of stay. And some of the wounded lions who have found them selves down after almost reaching the zenith I found there also.
What is the best advice?
Politics / Re: Tinubu Is The One Behind The Fall Of Naira by bakila: 12:19pm On Feb 22

At this point, tinubu should drop this free float and go back to managed float.

Two, give all holders of dorm account and banks 90 days to shut down their dorm accounts.

Revert to bank transfer for dollar transaction irrespective of who is involved. No more cash transaction.
Who will enforce?

Please let them protest without sanction. We should not allow the bad governance to get more support than reminders that it is there.
Food / Re: Grains Dealers Slash Prices In Kano by bakila: 4:52pm On Feb 16
matify83:
You can all see that the hike in food prices has been arbitrary and artificial with no links to the FX situation whatsoever.

The arbitrageurs amongst us have allowed their allure for sudden wealth to obscure their vision from the severe hunger in the land occasioned by their pernicious business practices.

For N3000-N5000 reduction in price of N55,000-60,000 goods?
They will buy at 500000 to sale at the price maize of 700000, maize closed last year. Govt was busy removing subsidy and increasing taxes on Agric input despite last year's high price, hence the present situation. The high cost is all due to bad government policies and nothing else.

Politics / Re: Again, CBN Raises Import Duty Rate By Another 4.4% In 24 Hours by bakila: 5:22am On Feb 04
DeLaRue:

You think so, but that's not the reality.

There is a pain point at which demand for many imported goods will fall fast. People will simply start buying less and less of them. Whether that pain point is at N1500, N1800, or N2000 to a dollar, I don't know.

But the CBN will have the data. They know. If N1500 doesn't stiffle imports to the level they want, I suspect the CBN will not mind seeing naira close to N2,000 to a dollar.

In some ways, it is to the credit of Mr Tinubu's administration that it is willing to follow this extremely tough path to redirect the economy from import-dependence to greater local production. For a politician facing election in just over 3 years to follow a path that may not show positive results for a few years, is truly brave.

The Nigerian economy was heading for the rocks after over 40 years of mismanagement. Tough decisions are needed to correct long term over dependence on imports.

But this approach comes with a lot of economic pain initially, as the country is witnessing now.

That's the theory o.

Whether things happen in practice like I stated above is a different matter, because Nigeria's situation often defy economic theory.
The pain point advocates. $1= N2000. What a brilliant spin and wicked sychopancy

Health / Re: I Am 39 Weeks And 5 Day Pregnant. What Do I Do To Induce Labour Naturally by bakila: 9:54pm On Dec 30, 2023
matify83:
Normal gestation for humans is 40+ or - 2 weeks.

At 39 weeks plus, you still have time a bit.

Usually, medical induction would be offered you at 41 plus 2-5 daysbefore your 42nd week is completed.

One other natural catalyst for labour is the semen because it contains prostaglandins which can initiate labour.

Engaging in sexual intercourse will definitely settle your case.
Prostaglandin will settle it.

Did this oversabi Commissioner contact the Governor or the Governor's office and the authenticity of the said documents were denied?

Doing Forensic report for the authenticity of a document when the alleged signee has not denied it is kinda overboard tho..

If Aketi surfaces now and confirms he indeed approved the said documents, where does that keep the oversabi Forensic report?
