Oga police said I will bring my car to their station VIO will test the car before they release it to me, they will have to see the other cars and drivers involved in the accident -presumably also for vio to test - , they will also go to the accident scene to interview witnesses after which they will record it in their crime diary.

After all that, I will now pay 20K and apply for a police report.

The accident involved two other cars, none of them is asking me or my insurer to fix their cars.

I only made a claim on my own car in this case too.

I have had three claims from insurance so far and they've never asked me for police report. I have to add that in all three instances, I only requested for claims on my vehicle.

Bolded is what I am trying to avoid.
I actually went to the station closest to the scene of the accident and what the police there told me is ridiculous to say the least. I have contacted insurance company and amongst other things, they are asking for police report.

I have a feeling that the insurance company is deliberately asking for that knowing very well that I may not be able to provide it hence my asking for peoples' experience here.

You need to set the high voltage disconnect on your BMS higher than the bulk/float charging voltage you set on your inverter. This hack if it can be called that is courtesy of @niyiomoiyunade.

Hi All, please does anyone know how to handle this. My inverter reads a higher volt than the BMS/meter on the battery. This just started a couple of days ago but it has happened last year.

Can’t remember how it sorted itself out. Sometimes, the inverter volt gets so high that the inverter trips off for overloading. Meanwhile, the BMS app says it’s fine and there is no overload. Has anyone experienced this before?

The first 29.3 is the battery volt shown by the inverter. It trips off at 30. Usually when the battery is full. The second is the meter on the battery which shows 26.4 volt and what the BMS app also says.

Is the inverter connected to a solar pv array and to NEPA ?
If yes, for the AC lines, you will need a Type 1 surge protective device at your NEPA distribution board where the cables from your poles are terminated and a type 2 SPD very close to the inverter AC terminals.

For the solar PV input cable, you will also need a Type 1 SPD upstream and a type 2 SPD close to the solar input of your inverter and the earth terminals of all the SPDs must be connected to a ground electrode with no lower than 10 ohms resistance.

A lot of what I said will likely not make sense to you because lightning protection isn't really a DIY thing

Any conductor that enters your inverter from outdoors makes your inverter fair game for lightning electromagnetic pulse including the cables that connect your solar PV array to the charge controller or hybrid inverter as the case may be unless you have a LPS installed.The grid conductors will carry a higher risk though because they may extend for up to a kilometre to your distribution transformer.

Where I work for example, a teaching environment, just this June. I have two installations there. In the town where the school is located, I have 8 installations, with my own installation, also in the same town. The school contracted installations to someone outside, numbering about 7 in all. Then this nasty thunder strike or lighting occurred. I was awake working with my system plugged and inverter on. Only for me to get to school the following morning, all the 7 installations in the school got fried. Nothing happened to mine and every other installed system I did within the same environment.

The only difference is that I don't connect my installations to the grid, none were connected to the grid. Maybe it's just luck abi? Let's wait and see.

They were having general network issues early this month, so it wasn’t working, I think they have sorted it out
I just used them today.

MY 3S 36Voc panels drop to about 80v when working in bright sunlight.. the danger period is early morning, clear skies..lil sun..i hv seen it hit 100v then.....

I noticed that my 2s is usually around 55V or so but goes to 68 when open circuit. I figured that the maximum power point for the 3S will be much less than 100V but the CC will very likely see a little over 100V when testing the curve.

cud work for a while....b4 it fires the cc, not worth it..best to swap with someone who has the cheap powmr cc, or buy a new powmr cc..and keep the fang as spare.

I actually have a powmr that I can swap with the fangpusun, just that I prefer the fangpusun because it logs data. I may just get a 150V 60A fangpusun.

How close is the 34v to the actual nameplate rating? If it's same then you can go ahead else I expect nameplate rating will be more than 34v so don't try it unless you don't mind lossing the CC.

Hahahaha, I hoped someone here would have conducted the experiment already.

I didn't check the voltage measurement on the CC, I used a multimeter to check the voltage at the solar panels terminals and 2s connection gave 68v (approximately 34V/panel as against the max VOC of 37.9V stated by the manufacturer) while open circuit on cloudy day.

Its a cheap cc, if it fails the test.we would have gained knowledge as a community�, and you use the oppurtunity to upgrade to another cheap ass cc..powmr that has VOC of 150v @ 48v setup.

How accurate is the voltage reading of the cc?. It might be off by a few point + margin of error. Extra 5v shudnt fry it
