Hahahahaha grin.

I have dropped the idea.

The setup has been running for about a year and I used 6mm cable so I can't count on the cable to reduce the voltage below 100V

My reason for wanting to do 3s2p is to reduce the current. One of the MC4 branch connectors to connect the 3p got damaged and the damage seems as a result of overcurrent. I am afraid it will happen again.
Oshomo12:

This will be lovely to find out from your research!

Note: You will see more than 36 v from those panels.

I am not advising you to do the connection with 2.5mm, at least, there will be a voltage drop along the wire. so you MAY NOT see up to 100v.

BUT why now? Do you just feel like frying something?

The cheapest battery they have is over 100K if I remember correctly. If not that dollar is just galloping anyhow, I will just keep buying chinko battery for 19k every year rather than buy that for over 100K.

How much does a 62Ah of any of the other brands cost ?
chillex8:

Trane
Infinity
Carquest
Motocraft
Canada proof
Optima
Delco
Champion

These batteries will last 5years minimum.

All those chinese/Korean batteries will last 6/12 months.

Don't forget to buy the specific battery size for your car.

Good day house.

Please how does the victron clone fanpusun mppt charge controller with a VOC of 100V react to a PV input voltage in excess of 100V (say 105V).

Will I see white smoke grin or will the CC just stop charging the battery.

I am tempted to rearrange my array of 6 X 270W Yingli panels with a measured VOC per panel of 34V from 2s3p (VOC = 68V) to 3s2p (VOC = 102).

I have had one for about 8 months. I have no real complaints but I can't help but wonder if it can really handle the 60A it's supposed to be able to handle. It's cheap and serves my purpose.

I've been thinking about the impending "Taliban" take over of Lagos and how we're unconsciously aiding it.

"Good question. Choose between the evil and the lesser evil. The security agencies or the hoodlums. Condemn hoodlum online and on air, change the narrative against them, close down 99.3fm for always being on the side of the evil. Police should form a team similar to sars to kill and take the battle to the Hoodlums. And finally, protect yourself.

Hmmmm, I've been pondering on it....

You need a source of internet of some sort, if the mifi is reliable enough for you, then it should be fine.

However, Tasmota on its own as far as I know works locally, no connection to a cloud platform or VPN, etc.
In that case, you'd need to setup a way to get to the local/private network (the one with the mi-fi in it) and control the tasmota-enabled device.
Most people use an SBC like raspberry either running a vpn solution or connected to one of the tunneling sites that enables that kind of setup.

If its a small simple setup and you're not very tech saavy, you might be better off using the stock firmware which would most likely allow more direct control over the internet.

...This device gives my kind of desired control, all you need do is to sync it with a dedicated home router It's called SMART PLUG and works with other home automation apps such as Alexa and Google Assistant. This is more preferable, you can get everything done on your phone, it has a programmable timer also, instant ON/OFF anywhere you are in the world. Someone may find this useful.

Is there a way to control this device remotely without using a dedicated router (can I use a Glo mi-fi) ?

Will I be able to control it remotely if I flash it with tasmota ?

I installed a 5KVA, 24V model for a friend about 5 years ago, the inverter could start and run 3 ACs simultaneously without batting an eyelid. Sadly, the batteries went bad after my friend's mum left the batteries discharged for a very long time. The inverter itself should still be fine but it hasn't been used for long.

You should be fine if the batteries are fully charged to start with and are kept in a cool place.

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by dejidotun2000(m): 4:52pm On Jul 10, 2021
Depends on how long and the state of charge before you stop using them.

Generally, batteries shouldn't be left in a discharged state for more than two days or so

Good morning house.

I need help crimping a rj45 cable to connect a pylontech up5000 to an axpert VM-III inverter.

I have tried a cat568A straight through cable and a cross over cable without luck.

The pylontech manual is confusing and Google searches present many different options too.

Please help with the correct pin out.

Thanks.

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by dejidotun2000(m): 9:57pm On Jun 23, 2021
Why sell pylontech to buy Listen, couldn't you have used the pylontech with the Deye inverter ?

How do you hope to connect the two Lishen cells to a 48V Deye inverter ?
NiyiOmoIyunade:

With all the ruckus about Deye inverters, I could not help but pickup a new 8kw unit as well as a couple of new Lishen 280Ah cells to try things out - once I have the system integrated into my existing one, I will be in a position to run at least 4 1hp ACs 24/7.

By now, I have run out of spare internal organs to sell to afford Lithium so I had to sell off some Pylontech bricks to finance the Deye inverter and Lishen cells.

ok. note it is PURE AC / DC. it can be plugged to light directly. they dont need ac adapter. it comes with remote and regulator. energy efficient and very low power consumption.

adrusa:

I don't know what else "lithium profile" on a charger mean other than setting bulk, absorption and float voltage to the same value and disable equalization. That is exactly what happens when I select "lithium profile" from victron charger. As to the fear of continuous float charges on the battery, the BMS usually do the remaining. When my lithium batteries enter "float" the current meters read zero.

So, if you have a perfectly good charger (inverter or Charge controller) on which you can modify the charging parameters, I don't see the need to waste extra money on any "lithium" profile, I honestly think it is a scam for manufacturers to make a little extra money on selling their inverters and chargers.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by dejidotun2000(m): 10:45pm On Jun 21, 2021
Thanks.
NiyiOmoIyunade:
You may need to buy additional equipment for comms between the inverter and battery (add on cards or use ICC running on a Raspberry Pi)

You want to set charge and discharge parameters conservatively so you do not stress the battery.

Hello house, trust we are all doing great.

Does anyone here know the max charging current of the 5KVA, 48V ipowerplus inverter while charging from the mains ?

Also, does it have a dedicated lithium profile ?
I want to use it with a Pylontech UP5000 battery, is there anything I should be worried about ?

None. Too low for a 24V and too high for a 12V system.

I believe the battery has 5 cells in series so you may disconnect one cell to make it 4 series and use it with a 12V inverter.

Hi,

I called the shop to book an appointment yesterday and the person I spoke to (male voice) told me I could bring the vehicle today.

He didn't ask for my name, number or anything so I asked him "how would you know it's me when I arrive tomorrow" and he said there was no need and that I could check in anytime from 9am.

I drove 42km to the shop only for them to tell me that all the spaces are filled and they may be able to have someone attend to me in another 2 hours.
