"Justice Abang to Olisa Metuh! "It is a shame that your party was in power for 16 years and could not build a standard hospital in Nigeria. And you have the guts to approach this court for permission to travel abroad on medical ground. I will never grant your request but if you are an ordinary person I will do so." Now, this really cuts deep. The 8th assembly acts like a sham. A group of unrepentant, spineless Self serving bandits. Is there any provision for constituencies to recall dysfunctional representatives. These guys are a cankerworm to our budding democracy. By the way, they impose a huge financial and moral burden to Nigeria. Perhaps we should find a cheaper alternative or better still, just scrap the house. |

These DOCUMENTS from a separate Police Special Fraud Unit report show how Nigerian Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki stole billions via dubious "bank loans" that were then repaid with other "loans". At a point he even got one of his proteges, Mahmoud Lai Alabi, to be appointed by Central Bank Gov. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to man InterContinental Bank, one of the banks he'd robbed of billions in loans Courtesy Sahara Reporters

On a honest note, it's not even funny anymore. Can't these folks even retire and take a rest. How can they hold our country to ransom and virtually mop up all our resources. I wonder how greedy and possessive our leaders are. It's rather becoming very appalling, distasteful, repugnant, demoralising, disgusting, pitiful , nasty and demoralising. Can't they just leave the political space. They have sold and bought Nigeria. Shame |

Family / Re: Men That Want Their Women Pregnant Before They Can Marry by kissangel1: 3:29pm On Oct 28, 2012 |
BlueDiva: With the way women mess themselves up these days, don't blame the guys for wanting insurance. I don’t support the statement about "the way woman mess themselves these days" can a woman mess herself up without a man? It takes two to tango, and on the average, besides, some men are too carried away with attractiveness, that they forget to look for ladies with morals. What about the way men mess themselves up these days and end up with low sperm count because of one infection or another. Some of these men know and would keep it secret. Some would utterly refuse to go for a test. Anyways, I blame any girl that will agree to such a condition because if you have a sense of self worth, you won’t attach marriage proposals on "certain" derogatory conditions {a child is a beautiful gift, when it is used as a perquisite for marriage, it degenerates it to a mere means to an end and not an end in its self}. It takes more than a child to have a happy home. In fact run away from such men because they obviously are going to give you more ridiculous egoistic demands after you get married. If you are hell bent of compromising out of desperation, remember that if you give your glasses today, tomorrow, he might just be asking for your eyes! How much can u bear to compromise to keep up appearances? Marriage should happen because you like the person enough to want to spend your lives together, better reasons like compatibility, companionship, character, attitudes and capacity to grow together and work as a team. The capacity to have children should be seen as an added gift to the equation, because like it or not, a lot of people would have to deal with the issue of infertility, even those that were married as virgins! Think about it, what if the child is born with special needs, would the “man” still love and accept the child when he has shown you his rigid nature beforehand. What ignorant arrogance! 26 Likes |

Mandelaguy: In a clear democratic set up void of selfish interest, Nigeria has demonstrated the ability to conduct free and fair election, void of manipulation and presidential interference as seen by the result of the governorship polls in Edo that was released this morning. President GE. Jonathan has once again delivered on his promise of free, fair and credible election just like the one that brought him into office? The president could have manipulated the result for his party to reclaim the state they lost in the last polls, but rather chose the path of allowing Edolites choose their governor. Adams Oshiomole won this election not because he performed, but because he had presidential protection(there was no interference by GEJ amidst tight security in Edo state).Maybe, you were one of the thumb printers, see how you are exposing your ignorance...GEJ carry to joor! You don de show dem say you be correct man! You are so pitiful and pathetic, hence the need to always make jonathan seem relevant in every thing. Politics / Channels Tv And Other Media Houses Presenters Pls Stop Being Partisian!!!! by kissangel1: 9:35am On Jun 18, 2012 |
I watched with utter disgust this morning as Hon Dino Melaye tried to express his findings and opinion about the running of this country. He complained about why Dangote should have a waiver of over 500billion naira in less than 4 years, and why the government would allow some so called big shots, enjoys some personalised favours from the government while others within the same economic sectors don’t have such benefits too. He also complained about the lackadaisical manner in which the government is treating the boko haram issue without any concrete game plan on how to tackle it. What really annoyed me was that the channels Tv presenters’ didn’t want to allow the man say what he wanted to say. They kept cutting him short and practically were attacking him as if they were afraid of what he had to say. I know they are entitled to an opining but I thought that the media should try to be a bit encouraging as much information as possible to be let out and not hid it because they don’t like what they are hearing. This is our country they are ruining, the more we know the more we can make informed decisions. Please try to keep abit still sometimes and allow these people to talk and reveal more. Am really angry this morning as that guy seemed like he had a lot to say and they just kept attacking him. Whose side are they on, these wicked few people who loot and plunder the land without a conscience or the poor suffering and smiling masses. This is our country they are ruining. I don’t know if they are trying to protect their licence or whatever interests, but please let them be more tactical in extracting this information from their invited guests. It will do us so much good as a nation. I really admire what channels TV is doing news wise, but their conduct this morning was particularly annoying. they could have just let the guy talk. Afterall didnt hey invite him for that reason!! Now i don’t care if Melaye is part of the opposition or not because the presenters tried to make it look like he was being anti government simply because he is in the opposition party and that he would have done otherwise if he was in PDP, but they forget that the opposition is there to keep the government on their feet and like a subtle check and balance for a healthy system. I’m very happy that the opposition is putting a lot of pressure on this government also and now they know that the Nigerian people are also looking into other alternatives {Power of Choice} its really annoying when you hear the way these people call billions and now trillions like they are nothing while common, light, water and road is as good as non existence. |

Celebrities / Chei! Our Ibo Brother Costars Angelina Jolie In "salt" by kissangel1: 10:30pm On Aug 31, 2010 |
im so thrilled. Our ibo Brother is making serious waves o. he also starred in 2012. Carry on oooo, Nna Bros! A consummate stage performer, Chiwetel Ejiofor first moved into motion pictures in 1996, when he did Steven Spielberg’s Amistad. Since then he has been featured in a slew of successful movies including Dirty Pretty Money, American Gangster, Kinky Boots, Inside Man and Children of Men. He’s currently starring as counter-intelligence agent William Peabody in the thriller Salt. His job is to track down and capture agent Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie), who is on the run after being accused of being a Russian spy. What do you think about being involved in the spy game? Do you think it’s something as an actor you can relate to because they spend so much of their time pretending to be other people? Agent Peabody (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and Ted Winter (Liev Schreiber) © Columbia Pictures It’s interesting, one of the dynamics in the film I think for me is Peabody’s so consistent, he’s not in the field, he’s bureaucratic in a way. And that was one of the things that I was excited by in this part. He is somebody who actually is not a chameleon, he’s not changing. That was one of the things that I was really excited by and I wanted to also experiment with the kind of idea that instead of these characters who are involved in the spy world having this kind of removed persona, that in fact there is something quite bureaucratic and every day about these guys. What did you learn from speaking with the CIA consultants? When I spoke with people in the CIA what I was interested in really was this departmental relationships and the bureaucracy of the CIA. And I found a very interesting and all encompassing way of approaching the character. In the film we don’t really learn a lot about Peabody. Did you try to create a back story for yourself to help you shape your character? Yeah, I was very interested in what happened before any of this happens. I concluded that whatever his personal home life, it gives way to the moment that he walks through the doors at the CIA. Somehow the battles that are going on for him there are the most significant things that are happening to him. So in way I was able to create gently some background noise in terms of a life that he might be having, but the real concentrated effort was on what happens at work. It felt to me that it gave the character a lot of grounding. Essentially (there are) very few characters in this story, but because they are carrying so much, it feels much more expansive. They carry these very deep tensions that are ever present to the film, so there’s always an underlying subtext to whatever they’re doing. What was it like to work with Angelina? Ted Winter (Liev Schreiber), Agent Peabody (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) © Columbia Pictures It was terrific. I’ve long been an admirer of hers as an actress and so I was excited to work with her. She was great fun to be around. There were times when we were shooting and we’d do exterior scenes and there was a lot of stuff happening around her, a lot of Paparazzi, a lot of people trying to get photographs, and yet to watch her film, and to watch her in this film, you would never even for a millisecond be aware that just beyond the camera is all this crazy activity. It was very instructive as how to be focused and how to be able to shut out a lot of the noise in order to do the job and to work within the context of the (story). Your co-star, Liev Schreiber, said he was a little intimidated by her when he first met her – did you feel that at all? No, I was very happy to meet her but I don’t feel like it was a big moment or anything. I was excited to meet another actress that I respect and to begin the process of doing the job. When things are written about people and there’s a whole other life, it’s a strange thing to contextualize sometimes. And also it’s a part of my job not to prejudge an actor based on US Weekly. It would be terrible to start from that basis. When you were a young man in England did you ever think you’d be a movie actor? I was going to be a theatre actor. There wasn’t any doubt in my mind that that was what I was going to do. I always wanted to be a theatre actor since I was 12 or 13, and I’d been making steps to do that. I started working in theatre and I had an opportunity to come out to the States to do Amistad, which was with Spielberg, and that was a great moment, but then I went back to England and carried on doing theatre. Although I had had this amazing experience in Hollywood, the film world hadn’t necessarily captured me in its entirety. I couldn’t quite understand L.A. at all, I was 19 and I didn’t feel like it was where I fitted, so I didn’t stay. And then I did Dirty Pretty Things, and I think at that point I fell in love with making films. So I began to pursue that as well, and I started to get cast in America. You have a great American accent in this. Were their American actors that influenced you when you were a child? I don’t know what my influences were, although I would say that there was a lot of American television in England when I was growing up, and a lot of American movies, so I was aware of the accent and the different sound subliminally. But when I first got to the States and started doing American movies, I needed some assistance with dialogue coaches, because the sounds are so different. But like anything, it gets a little easier as you do it. http://filmreviewonline.com/2010/07/23/salt-chiwetel-ejiofor-on-the-spy-game/ |
