Politics / Fact Check: Did Peter Obi Graduate With A Third Class In Philosophy? by Medley(m): 2:43pm On Sep 21, 2022
It has become very important to clear the air on the qualification of the Labour party presidential candidate as I have over the time witnessed the lies being peddled about on what he graduated with from the university of Nigeria Nsukka in 1984.

Even though degree of qualification is not tied to one being successful in life - some do all sort of things to get the best grades but you would be surprised to see the worrisome difference when you interview some supposedly high fliers.

Mr. Peter Obi have not just stopped at the degree he obtained from UNN he has gone ahead to obtain further courses and knowledge.

The Fact: Peter Gregory Obi graduated from the University of Nigeria Nsukka with a 2:2 - second class lower division and not a pass as some will peddle to feel fulfilled of their mischief.

Not just for his sake alone, for one to even be bringing up this as a discussion for someone that have chaired different companies in different sectors really show shallow minded people can be.

We can track his background, his family, his state of origin, he has his FSLC attached to his submission, people that went to secondary school with him at Christ the king college can be contacted and verified as he is in their Alumni and they can attest to that - but can same be said of other candidates?

He was admitted to the University of Nigeria, in 1980, graduated with a B.A. (Hons) in philosophy in 1984.

Peter Obi attended the following for further knowledge acquisition
Lagos Business School - Chief Executive Program
Harvard Business School
London School of Economics
Columbia Business School
International Institute for Management Development - certificates in the Senior Executive Program and the Chief Executive Officer Program.
Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University
Business School of Oxford University
Judge Business School of Cambridge University

I am really scared and I would want to know if I should be afraid and perhaps what can I do at this point.

On Saturday, March 26, A scammer called my phone and was claiming to be in the same group I was and that there is a code that I should revert to him and I should put my phone on loud speaker, when I checked my messages I saw that it was an SMS of a code from WhatsApp which could mean that my account want to be set up on another phone, I immediately told him he is a scammer and shouldn't call my line again.

Today, March 27, 2022 I have been receiving calls from different phone numbers that barely last for 2 Seconds and will cut off and when I try to call the phone lines back the service provider will return the call that the phone number I am trying to call is not assigned - this was a phone number that just called me and I can't call back.

I have received phone calls from six of those kind of phone numbers between 4pm to 4:45pm.

Please who have an idea of what is happening? Are they trying to defraud me with a new method I don't know of? Is this a new scheme for fraudsters? Should I be worried as I have had to remove my SIM from my phone to avoid receiving more of the calls.

@mynd44 @OM4J please help me to get this to more eyes for immediate assistance

Security needs to be beefed up in areas where Motorist are held in traffic mostly and street lights need to be powered
Crime / What's Govt. Doing About Incessant Menace Of Stealing From Road Users In Lagos by Medley(m): 7:38am On Jul 10, 2020
It's alarming the cases of road users - Motorist and pedestrian - being robbed of their possession in Lagos with no limit to the time this occurs.

In broad day light, very early in the morning and at dawn no one is safe any longer.

The thievery and the temerity at how its done with no regards that they will be any security operative to stop the operation is bewildering.

What then is the government doing about this

It first started of with road users phones and necklace being snatched either why trying to board a bus, or in crowded locations now it has festered to the level where the possessions of people in a car are forcefully taken at gunpoint when held in traffic - once they notice the use of phones inside the car.

No road user is excempted as a target, commercial or private, in most cases its the private car that's the main target.

This robbers come with guns, and machete and use them when road users are held in traffic.

A visit to any of MTN, GLO, AIRTEL or 9 Mobile's office will make you wonder when you begin to hear different people tell their stories of how they were robbed of their phone, and other personal effects.

It doesn't end there as this robbers also has in their possession POS machine which they forcefully make their victims use their ATMs for transactions until their account is emptied.

Please avoid late night journeys if you can, avoid use of phones in traffic, try as much as possible to take a bus at the park.

For now we have to device our means to safe ourselves until government stop this Menace.

The country of about 27,000,000 so far has 124 and 71 recovered with no death record.

The cure called COVID ORGANICS is an herbal cure syrup gives results in 7 days.
Made from Artemisia a plant used to cure malaria. Albeit WHO is yet to approve the cure but it's effectiveness in Madagascar is already being announced and Senegal and Cameroon may be the first Country to get their order.

Madagascan President Andry Rajoelina has officially launched a medicine he believes can prevent and cure patients suffering from COVID-19.

Developed by the Malagasy Institute of Applied Research and branded COVID Organics, President Rajaolina presented the so-called remedy to the press on Monday. It contains Artemisia, a plant cultivated on the Big Island to fight against malaria.

“All trials and tests have been conducted and its effectiveness in reducing the elimination of symptoms has been proven for the treatment of patients with COVID-19 in Madagascar,” the president said.

A presidential decree said COVID-organics is mandatory for children returning to school on Wednesday. President Rajaolina said Monday that it had cured two COVID-19 cases.

Please can Nigerians get to work already. I would've tried to innovate on testing if I was a scientist or an Engineer.

Senegal currently has the best recovery rate in Africa and are currently number 3 in the world in terms of number of COVID-19 Cases recovery.

A test kit that cost 1$ have just been created by them for massive testing and also they've been able to create 60$ 3D printed Ventilators.

What we are thinking of in Nigeria is to increase lock down till whenever until there's no case and perhaps a vaccine is sent to us by WHO.

TV/Movies / You Think Nollywood Movies Are Predictable? So Also Is Hollywood, See Why by Medley(m): 8:05am On Apr 25, 2020
Just as it is with products that are imported from European, Asian countries and the USA are always highly rated in comparison to those that are produced in Nigeria even if they may have same quality and may even be cheaper - the Nollywood movies are always thought of as inferior when compared to Hollywood movies and we find all kinds of name to kill the brand like there's no story line, It's predictable from the beginning of the movie, but we forget that the budget on Hollywood movies may be as high as 150,000,000 USD which is because they are funded by various banks, companies and investors. What would have happened if the Nigeria movie industry could have even less than 20% of the kind of sponsorship they receive - It would have been revolutionary considering what they achieve with the little they have currently.

SCENES THAT ALSO SHOW THAT HOLLYWOOD MOVIES ARE PREDICTABLE

This lock down period have made me watch many Hollywood movies and i noticed similarities in movies, scenes, plot and predicted some scenes which always are repeated.

1. The American cop suddenly becomes more informed and lethal about a case which they've been pursing for a while without any progress or success mostly when they've been suspended and asked to go home or on forced vacation for some weeks, months, indefinitely suspended or even fired and are called back or asked to rejoin the force after they must have burst or cracked a big crime syndicate, cartel or drug lord with lots of applause and celebration

2. Most Music or dance group always have one person in the group that dances better or sings better but will leave the group close to a very important competition with no hope in sight the group will still push to partake in the competition only for the star boy or girl to appear from no where at the last minute and welcomed back by the group which in most cases become the cynosure of all eyes and wins the competition for the group with a lot of celebration.

3. During combat scenes the protagonist or actor as we like to call it in trying to rescue is family member(s) that have been held captive, wife or girl friend, the protagonist would've beaten everyone and killed the enemies who are now on the floor seemingly dead only for him or her to be shot or the person(s) he rescued because the person was yet to die and in most cases that's when several bullets will be riddled on the villain or boss that now dies and surrenders.

4. Most times any family member that the Protagonist visit when being searched after by the villain(boss) end up dying which then suddenly spurs the Protagonist to action as he becomes more prepared to win the next battle scene

5. The girl friend to the protagonist will only realize that she can't do without him and she's in love with him when he is about to leave for another country and in most cases that's when she will run under heavy rain fall to meet him in the airport or take a cab to stop him from leaving

6. There's always exist a wicked bully to a freshman in high school who after many beating will become friends because he fought back or was able to win the heart of the students for being too intelligent or making a striking discovery.

7. Bullets in the Gun most of time finishes when the people left are the protagonist(actor) and the Villain(boss) so that they can have the long awaited fisticuffs and combat each other to the death

LIST THE PREDICTABLE SCENES YOU'VE NOTICED... LIST YOURS...

It's just propaganda. If truly their intentions are to show that money can go into the right palliative and tied to something that will be seen without the usual we've spent 50 billion Naira on poor households, that's why they can't afford to do this one, it won't be easy to hide the true amount spent
Politics / Two Months Free Electricity - All You Need To Know About Bills And Prepaid Meter by Medley(m): 12:38am On Apr 25, 2020
I came across a thread were someone was rejoicing that bill hasn't been delivered to his residence and was probably claiming that government have paid for free electricity supply as a results of the lock down announced to slow and contain the spread of the Coronavirus Pandemic - this is a mere happenstance that might have been caused due to the marketers delay in getting a bill across to your residence perhaps because of the Lock down, I have received my bills and plans to pay, because the DISCOs are private owned.

When I first heard of the palliative measure to make possible free Electricity. I wasn't optimistic because this is what we know we can truly feel and will support the poor, middle-class and the rich - With no will, plan, finance or provision to back it up and here it won't be a fable of conditional cash transfer we keep hearing.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE POWER SECTOR

The Electricity value chain consist of the Generating companies(GENCOs), Transmission Companies (TCN) and the distribution companies (DISCOs).

We all are more concerned about the DISCOs because they are the ones that distribute power to the households, offices and companies after it must have been stepped down power to 33kv and 11kv from electricity from TCN.

The government only owns the TCN and partly some GENCOs and have privitized the DISCOs and some GENCOs.

Some GENCOs need gas to power their stations before Generating to TCN and transmit to DISCOs, the DISCOs are the bottom of the value chain and they are the ones that go after the money and pays the NBET who then pays the return to GENCOs and TCN.

DID GOVERNMENT PAY FOR FREE ELECTRICITY

The NBET is paid by the DISCOs after customers might have paid for Electricity, that's when you pay your bills before and after disconnection or when you recharge your prepaid Meyers and the NBET get across payment to the GENCOs and TCN.

What government paid was ₦200 billion for the gas that is supplied to GENCOs to wheel power the country - which has Always been the norm as the money generated by DISCOs after remittance to NBET is always poor as majority of Nigerians have huge outstanding debts and some refuse to pay their bills and also they have issues with cost reflective tariffs. When we stop paying our bills there's a chance that we may stop getting power supply, because the private companies (DISCOs) will not be able to continue rendering service.

VERDICTS: Government can't just make order for free Electricity - the government must first raise the necessary fund to pay the Distribution companies because they are private owned and will need to do capital expenditures to keep distributing power.

So far it's just propaganda - it will take within 120 - 180 billion Naira paid to the DISCOs before free supply can be achieved. That wasn't budgeted for in our 2020 budget and no provision have been made by the House of representatives on this and we've not heard of any sitting on this.

That's why when I saw the staff that was beaten I felt bad for him. We should avoid this. It's the money paid for Electricity to DISCOs that will end up being paid through NBET to TCN and GENCOs.

If you don't have money then there's no need beating staffs that have families waiting for them to come home and we are still the people that will complain when there's no power supply and we have refused to pay because of a sensational headline of we shall, we will and we may do.

Government haven't paid for free Electricity and so far there's no hope of it in sight. If it happens it will be a miracle - as we've not even taken care of the poor who are hungry and are still having donors aid our fight on COVID-19

Politics / COVID-19 Lockdown: What Nigeria Have Done In Contrast To Ghana And The Result by Medley(m): 12:33pm On Apr 20, 2020
Ghana has lifted the lockdown, but Public gatherings are still banned. Borders and schools remain closed. It has now done 68,591 Coronavirus tests with 1,042 cases. Drones are used to transport samples. It is also producing its own face masks, gloves, scrubs, gowns, head gears.

Despite Recording Over 1000 Cases, Ghana has an estimated population of 31,072,940 people. So far, Coronavirus has claimed 9 lives.

The President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo announced that they'll be lifting the lockdown considering its severe impact on the poor & vulnerable & due to their increased capabilities to contain the spread of COVID-19. Alebit Public gatherings are still prohibited.

A Contrast to what's obtainable here in Nigeria

With the increase in insecurity and a lockdown that's not been observed strictly in street due to increased cases of robbery and clashes. People are also found having small gatherings in street without using face masks and perhaps washing their hands with soap and water or the use of alcohol based hand sanitizers have since been forgotten since the beginning of lock down.

Nigeria hasn't tested more than 10,000 people and we are close to 21 days at home. Ghana has tested over 68,000 people within almost same period. South Africa has tested over 100,000. yet the numbers in Nigeria keep increasing everyday with a constant announcement that it's because of increased testing - how long will it take before we can do 100,000 test - does that mean we will stay back home till July? What will be the fate of the poor that have now stopped sleeping in order to keep vigil at night, burning tires and having different machetes and dangerous equipment just to have some sense of safety or the employed that are currently being sacked enmasse in a country were the government can't provide jobs, or the imminent non payment of salaries as a result.

VERDICT: We can't shut the country so that we will suddenly wake up to governance and start searching for testing kits and effective tracing and tracking of contacts which with the rate so far will take us till July to do an appreciable level of testing, the Lockdown should be lifted in Nigeria and a strict civic distancing enforced in our offices, Motor packs. Social gatherings may still be restricted and everyone should go out with Masks also hand washing and use of sanitizers will be made necessary in places were two or three people gather.

We can't afford to kill an economy that's already faced with crashed oil prices and extend more hardships to the poor - who are being killed at the least provocation because of the Lockdown by security operatives. The lockdown hasn't been effective by any means - even supposed government that set the rules broke it with the recent gathering to bury the chief of staff and yet no one was punished - in New Zealand the health minister was demoted, but here we were told that they can't flog the attendants, but the security operatives knows how to kill the poor for going out to buy food. Even better Economy like Sweden haven't announced lockdown.

Politics / Covid 19: Has Government Been Open About The Pandemic And Cases In Nigeria? by Medley(m): 12:49pm On Apr 18, 2020
I want to believe that there are better ways information about number of cases of the COVID-19 could be disseminated to Nigerians.

The way the numbers are released as if it's a presidential election that collation will be done from polling units and counted after the total accredited voters have voted, and added up at the LGA collation center before it gets to the State Collation center and Finally announced by the INEC chairman.

We keep getting updates of new cases, recovery/discharge, and deaths but we've never been told which LGA, Ward, street are being affected all what we hear is 15 New cases in Lagos - where in Lagos in particular, do we have consistent cases from a particular community or ward - this will further give people the understanding that they are most hit and should do the highest level of civic distancing and also make people yet to believe that the pandemic is real to take caution.

Isolation and treatment centers can also be recorded on camera and shown to the public with faces of victim blurred - this is a society were people are still saying HIV isn't real and Novel Corona virus is just being treated like malaria.

I think government and health ministry need to do more on an open update. I watch other countries release names of those that died, News of recovery shows videos of people being celebrated as they are discharged, ICU are shown to the people and the number of people in the center shown and the capacity of the unit in relation to ongoing treatment - we may not do all, but so far the level we are cannot be considered to be open to all Nigerians.
