U need to add enough red or white vineger. It preserves d red colour &make sure u dont over bake. Where u put ur colour doesnt really matter, jst that & heat bleaches it. I make red velvet a couple of times &it comes out perfect.

Meddler: now that's a bit tricky. increasing the flour might make Ur cake dry. but still test it out. I use simas butter occasionally and haven't experienced the problem u described

& this experience is always with my vanilla cakes.
my chocolate cakes comes out perfect..
i tried topper, &there was an inprovemnt but still slight oil..
thanks so much 4ur help

Meddler: increase the flour and see how it comes out. now apart from being oily, is the cake moist or dry?

thanks degurl
Food / Re: Oily Cakes by melek: 3:37pm On Aug 11, 2013
degurl:

Depends on you. If I use the same quantity of butter and sugar (which is supposed to be the right thing), my cake will be too sugary so I reduce the quantity of sugar.

yea, thats true. what i really need 2be put through is d qty of butter to flour.
i guess its an issue 4me. is 50:50 ok?
Food / Re: Oily Cakes by melek: 2:13pm On Aug 09, 2013
