Education / Admission Help by nevderek(m): 9:29am On Nov 26, 2013
Hello Mr/Ms Moderator, I sincerely hope this doesnt come off as offensive to you, I'm just trying to help.

This is for anyone that wants to go to school in private universities in Ghana and dont have anyone here who may assist you, or you dont want to shell out huge amounts of money to pay agents. You can contact me to assist you with just a little charge. There are millions of secondary school graduates in Nigeria every year, and schools in the country can only cater for less than 20% of them and there will additional millions more next year. I open this thread only to help, just as I was helped.

First, decide which course you want to pursue, google the schools that offer them here and check their various fees and processes (I will help with any information you may also need). Then contact me and I will apply for you, I will take nothing from you till you confirm that you have been admitted.

Basically in Ghana, EVERY school sells its own admission forms, the price can be found on the school website, that is the money you will pay to the school and not me, however way you may decide to pay for your form is all up to you. But all expenses accumulated in the processing of your admission will be paid to me as I will be using my own money to do that, i.e printing your documents, endorsement of forms and passports, transportation etc.

In total, you will be paying less than #30,000 (admission forms included) to gain your admission into most schools, and remember, you will only pay after you have confirmed your admission.

Admission is open for jan2014.

Send a web pin reset request to cfc@ubagroup.com & put your details there, that's your name & card number, send with your email you registered with your card, then send me a pm so as to do a follow up for you.
I can assure you, they will treat it as urgent.

Bro I just sent the request, but i just got the reply to the mail i recently sent to uba, they said the online portal for Nigerians arent the same for Ghanaians, infact they havent got any portal for other countries yet.

I hope the web request mail I just sent them wont harm my card in anyway. Meanwhile, can I now verify the card with Visa? And what is their site.

thanks for your assistance.

Card number/username is the 16 digit on the front of your card while web passcode is the 4 digit code found below ur atm pin in the letter on that small piece of nylon you removed and placed on paper to reveal ur atm pin. After you log in on www.myubaafricard.com you can change both ur username and passcode to whatever you like.

thanks, I think what we got here in Ghana is different, I cant find such any other four digit code apart from my atm pin. I'm trying to call the head quarters but the number aint connecting. The lady that gave me the card is simply clueless. And i already tried to pay for a forwarding address with the card

If you need teaching on righteousness which is of faith, then read the letters of Paul, till you do, you don't know SHyTe about righteousness.

"Why don't you say it out loud mum?

"Luke.."

Kara knew what was coming and wasn't ready for it, atleast not here before the whole world, the board members, his family and workers. She should try and stop him. But not Lucas, he's angry and will damn sure let the steam off his own way.

"Go ahead mum," Lucas said, and he looked into Kara's pleading eyes for a moment, if it was any other thing he would had stopped. But this is war, a silent battle that's been raging on fiercely beneath the surface since the day he introduced Kara to the family as his woman. It must end now, he'd made his mind up. So he slowly unlocked Kara's desperate grip, and edged closer to his mum, bold, daring. The room quiet as ice.

"Every other thing about you screams it, so why don't you save us both the pretense and say it the f**ck out loud mother, give your goddamned leeches something to stick their suckers into."

"Lucas, she's your mother..." Kara started but he cut her short.

"I know what she is," he said looking defiantly into his mum's face. If she felt anything she didn't show it. Lucas turned back around to Kara and continued.

"Most of my life was spent here, right here in this house. I know what my family is, we wear fancy clothes, drive luxury cars and smile like saints, but we're not and this mansion is no home, it's a jungle, a very scary one. And you'd better be on your strongest guard, cos everything here, even the tiniest most innocent looking ones are driven by an unquenchable animalistic thirst for blood." He concluded, breathing rather hard, raging.

"You're pathetic Lucas, you're weak, and it rips my heart apart to know that I raised you, a weakling." She paused a few moments, maybe to let her words sink in, she's good at getting on people's nerves.

"And Like hell you're right, I wish it wasn't your brother who died in that crash." She finished, it was barely a whisper but carried the strongest emotions. No soul moved or as much as breathed, time seemed to halt, same with life.

"Hmph, ha," Lucas grinned.
"Well done mum, you got a part of that wish granted, consider me dead to you. Kara, baby let's get the hell outta here."

"Lucas, Luke, please... I'm so sorry Mrs Sorenson, I'll talk to him, he'll listen to me, he... Kara said, it was useless but she had to say something.

"You don't seem to get it Kara, nobody here cares what you think." Lucas said and looked around the room as though disgusted by every single entity inside, Kara excluded ofcourse.

"For all they care you're the little devil who crept in from a third world to wreck their greed motivated world. They don't care about your love, hell they don't even know what that means." He paused, and looked at her tenderly, all his love conveyed through that look, he was hurting, she felt it, he knew she felt it. Such is the strength of what they shared, his family will never understand that, they weren't programmed to understand such love.

"Lucas they're your family." She was pleading. "They can't be that bad, I wish there is something I can do."

"You can't fix this baby, they will destroy you if you try. I know you wish everywhere is as pure as your heart is, but this is reality, this is the where I was raised, and Angels don't live here, they can't survive."

This is it.

Time flies, and so does life. So long gone are the days we used to sit on sands at nights gazing at the starry sky and wondering what the future holds.

We had big dreams then, dreams of wealth and fame, of sitting on expensive couches, sipping fine wines from fine ass glasses and puffing cigar smokes into air with our legs crossed as the perfect Gentlemen. We thought if we dreamt hard enough then life will make us smile and we'll join the league of the affluent, drive around the city all night attending balls, making acquaintances with the popular and flirting with beautiful ladies.

We saw luxury homes on the old granny TVs we had then, the TV you had to hit really hard to get going. And we saw big white cars passing the major streets but never once in our hoods, and we used to wonder what kind of kids were driven in them.

And we wished our folks weren't so lazy. We wished they were rich enough to buy us new clothes every month, and good toy cars with batteries and remotes, not the type the good old carpenter made with long woods that had bad paintings and just one wheel. We couldn't just understand why dad will not send us to colleges in London or maybe United states, so we hated him. Why won't mum just be like that fancy woman with big hairs and rather high shoulder pads with excess make up on her face who drove the fat bully to school every morning?
So we disrespected mum.

They were lazy, lazy mum and dad, we promised our unborn babies we'd never park at the same lot they did, we swore we'll own the world, and buy all the luxuries our old poor and lazy folks couldn't.

We dreamt, we hoped, and we had faith, just like the old reverend who always slept during hymns preached.

And time flew, so did life.

Here we are now, with muscles and beards. Dad's very old, mum's got many wrinkles. We're through with school, we have girlfriends now but they are not the beauty queens we had in mind. We have jobs too, blue collar, average pay, so no balls and late night parties, no expensive shoes and fine wines. We do drink, but they are beers from mugs in the over crowded bar just down the hood.

Those big white cars still pass the major streets, new better ones, but it's not our kids inside. Bigger mansions seemed to emerge overnight, but we're not the ones who live in them. In fact, we live in the low earners part of town and we share the toilets, four of us.

We work hard, we pray every morning, we do all we were told will make us great, but it seems we're headed right where dad parked with full speed.

It is the tomorrow we always talked about as kids, this is that day we said we'll rule our worlds as we stormed out on our underachieving fathers and mums. We are here now, the adults, the stage is ours. We bragged we'll do better. But we're quieter now, lessons learnt. We don't see those old poor drunks in our streets as the lazy fools we called them, we actually call them Papas now. We don't think dad is that old man who wasted his youth and didn't do much to give us castles and jets.

Now we see life, and it aint no child's play.

We're spotting fresh grey hairs, our kids are playing with badly made plastic cars but too scared to speak up. The girl we got pregnant is sitting in the corner silently cursing us. We know what's on their minds, it hurts us too but we can't fight it, our strength is finally giving in and one more time we look up to the skies, this time not to dream but to ask questions. How did we go wrong? Where did we miss it?

This is it, welcome to today.

G.James:

You just called it an unknown language. French, Igbo, German, Yoruba, Spanish are all well known.

Lool @ G.James, imagine the irony!!!!
MrBible:

1 Corinthians 14:19
But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.

1 Corinthians 14:23
So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and inquirers or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind?

Picture this; an I.T. student wakes up someday and tells Bill Gates that he (Gates) doesn't know what works or not in microsoft. You know Gates will be looking at the young guy like someone that's high on some cheap weed.

I have a few questions for the guy who says today Christian's tongues are gibberish and they are:

1) In verse Acts 2:13, why do you think some folks called the apostles drunks when they were speaking in tongues?

2) 1 cor 14:2, why did Paul use the phrase "no one/man understands him." Plz if you care to answer, use scripture, anything outside, anything you conjure up out of your common sense is invalid.

Really read 14, open your heart to the scripture and not your just your mind, there are remarkable comments Paul made that he wouldn't had if he was only talking about being enabled by the Holy Spirit to speak German while your Ibo, or Spanish while your English.

I have my personal experiences with tongues and the Holy Spirit that I may or may not decide to share but that will depend on whether you created your post to argue or to learn.

Rhapsody of Realities.
Fashioned For Success - Friday, June 21st,
-Pastor Anita.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper (Psalms 1:3).

Jesus brought us into a life of power, fruitfulness, and productivity. This truth is expressed in John 15:16 where He said, "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you." He let’s you know that you’ve been chosen, ordained, commissioned and appointed to bring forth fruits; lasting results.

This means He has made you efficacious, giving
you the power to produce desired results. If there’s a target set for you, irrespective of how daunting the task may be, your efficacy can be trusted because of the special abilities the Lord has introduced into your life. You’ve been fashioned for success and excellence. This is the mind-set you should have. You’re not meant to hustle your way through life or struggle to make things work; you’re ordained to be productive. Observe again the Psalmist’s beautiful description of this extraordinary life of productivity and excellence that God has brought you into: "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper" (Psalms 1:3).

Make this your daily confession, and say, "I’m like a tree planted by the rivers of water, and I produce excellent results. I’m fruitful and productive!" You can do anything; you can be anything; you can get anything; you can go anywhere; you can be what you choose to be. This is the life God has given you; it’s a life of righteousness with dominion, where you honour and please Him by being fruitful in every good work, as you increase in the knowledge of Him.

Confession
I’m anointed for good works and ordained unto a life of fruitfulness and productivity. I keep my roots submerged in the waters of the Word, flourishing in the courts of the Lord, bringing Him honour, and bearing abundant fruit unto Him in righteousness. Praise God forever more!

Always Give Your Best -Tuesday June 18th, 2013 – Pastor Anita

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again (Luke 6:38).

In your giving it's important that you always out-do your past; give your best always. When you give your best, you'll receive the best. Jesus said, the measure with which you give, is the same measure with which you'd receive. If you give sparingly, you'll reap sparingly. If you give joyfully and bountifully, you'll also reap abundantly in joy.

The Bible says "The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself" (Proverbs 11:25). Some are only conscious of what they want to receive; but you're first a giver before you can receive. The Bible didn't say, "Receive, and then give..."; rather it says, "Give, and it shall be given unto you...." In addition, the Bible says God loves the "Cheerful giver"; it didn't say, "the cheerful receiver" (2 Corinthians 9:7). It's more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35).

Consider the woman who poured the expensive perfume on Jesus; she probably didn't know that thousands of years later, she'd still be a reference point. She gave her best. When a man called Joses sold his land and brought the money to the apostles (Acts 4:36-37), he did it with all his heart, not immediately recognizing the impact of his giving. The quality of what he gave touched the apostles so much that they named him "Barnabas" (son of consolation).

Whenever opportunities show up for you to give in the house of God, or do something for the Lord, do it the best way the first time. Do it as though the success of it depended on you alone.Prayer:

Dear Father, I thank you for your grace in me to give and make meaningful impact in the spread of the Gospel around the world. I'm challenged by your great love that made you give your best for the salvation of all men; I'm thus determined more than ever, to serve you with my life, and with the best of all I have, in Jesus' Name.

Further Study:
2 Corinthians 9:6-11
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousnesswink Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
Theme: Earnestly Contend For The Faith
Date: Monday June 17TH, 2013

Scriptural Ref: Jude 1:3
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints (Jude 1:3).

As saints of God, there's a way of life that's been delivered to us which we must earnestly contend for. There're forces in the world whose aim is to sway you from the faith. You must contend against these forces in faith. 1 Timothy 6:12 says, "Fight the good fight of faith...." Notice: it's a fight of faith. The same faith that was delivered to the prophets and apostle of old continues with us today; we have the same spirit of faith: "We having the spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak" (2 Corinthians 4:13).

All those who ever walked this faith-road were fulfilled in victory, success, and dominion; they dominated their world and overwhelmed their adversaries. It’s the same for us, because we have the same spirit of faith. Put your trust in the Lord, and be convinced of the power and efficacy of His Word like they did in Bible days .If you'd believe and respond to the Word as they did, you'll get what they got.

This is one reason we study Bible characters; it's for us to know how they lived, what they did, how God dealt with them, how they responded to Him, and how their faith produced results. Their accounts were written for our learning and guidance, that we may be inspired by their gallant acts of faith. Read some of the inspired acts by these men and women of faith in Hebrews 11:32-40.

PRAYER:
Dear Father, I thank you for the overcoming and ever-
winning life of faith you've delivered to me. Right now,
irrespective of what comes against my faith, or the physical circumstances, I speak life, success and prosperity in all my endeavours, in Jesus' Name.

Religion / Re: Is Kissing And Hugging Sinful In Christian Courtship? by nevderek(m): 12:16pm On Mar 24, 2013
We need to know the concept of sin first.
What really is sin?

Did u know that commiting adultery is not the sin, rather disobeying God who asked u not commit adultery IS the sin?

Why was the King Saul rejected by God?
God actually said "thou shall not shed blood" and somewhere else you find the same God telling a man to annilhiliate totally a nation, sparing not even a beast. And in that context, sin would be NOT totally killing them people.
That was why King Saul failed; He disobeyed God by not killing all.

If you conduct a dilligent study of the chronicles of men and women God walked with back in the bible days, you'll discover things that will amaze you.
Lot and his family were instructed by an angel to run from Sodom and not look back, Lot's wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt, but that same day Abraham was on the mountian looking directly into Soddom and Gomorrah as the angels rained fire on them.
To Lot and his family, looking back would be a sin which attracted immediate repercussions, to Abraham it wasnt.

what about the ark of covenant, a man tried to touch it and stop it from falling, he died at the spot yet Obodebom took it home and prospered.
To the man it was sinful, to Obedebom it was a commendable act with multiple blessings.

Samson sleeps with a LovePeddler yet God's spirit comes upon him the next moment when he's ready to fight.

Human beings with out societal norms and values try to define God and explain His ways. Jesus chided the Phasrisees and Sadducees for "making the word of God of ineffect by the reason of their traditions". He called them tombs, looking neat outside but full of dead, rotten particles inside.

To the one who's born again; Sin is not a set or list of actions that seems wrong, its an act of disobedience to a direct specific instruction from God at a particular time or given situation.
Sin to the christian is personal, Paul ate everything, even the meats the Jews called unclean, sacrificed to gods, but Peter wouldnt dare.

To the one who's not born again, sin has got nothing with what they do, it's their nature.. No matter how nice they may seem, no matter how right they behave, they are simply sinners, everything they do is sin. No wonder God says "their righteousness is a filthy rag to me".

NB: there are habits u dont exhibit, not cos they are sinful but cos they may put u in trouble, or put someone else in trouble.

Now is kissing and hugging sinful or not?
God didnt specify anywhere in the bible (infact Solomon did a lot of kissing with a girl he was in love with, songs of solomon and it's scripture!!!) so that leaves it to a personal level.
And personally to me, it aint.
Africa no fit tie me down

Did anyone force you to consult your pastor in the first place?
If what he foretold you was a marriage of bliss and harmony would you come here to post trash thereby creating a medium for these pitiable folks on NL to have a field day against a man of God?

Your pastor was sitting peacefully, you carried your "wahala" to him but when the message turned out to be different from what you would want to hear, you ran to NL to seek for counsel, NL for reals?
shameful..

These atheists sef, ma una dey una atheism lane nah?
U jump into every thread about God and Christianity yet you dont think God exists?
And una no even get level for atheism, abeg oo. If you dont believe God exists, ok good, buzz off. I believe, and I'm glad my world does too..

I experiences miracles everyday, 2 comes to mind:
My friend brought a little girl who was seeing a ghost; a dead girl with blood stains and in tears trying to tell the little girl what happened to her but she was so afraid that it was driving her crazy..
She doesnt stay in the dark, cant even close her eyes, she cried all the time.
When I saw how badly the little girl was affected I cried, yeah I even got a little scared, but myself and a friend too her to a very dark place that night, prayed and laid hands on her and she spoke in tongues aggresively, the ghost simply vanished and that was it till date.

Another one, a lady friend's politician dad abandoned the family for over 10 yrs, leaving everything solely to his wife and she wasnt coping well with it..
The lady was sad and cried all the time, I noticed how she depressed she always was, so i started getting close to her, I'd buy her meals, then take her to church..

One day I told her somethings about me, and she opened up about her family, i held her hands and prayed a simple prayer then told her exactly what would happen, a week ago she called me and was shouting, Her dad has come back, knelt and apologised to everyone, gave them cash gifts, moved back in with them even though he has his mansion somewhere in Abuja, now they all back together.

If you actually open your heart and reject the foolishness called atheism, faithlesness, you'd see God everywhere..

Religion / Re: Is the Catholic Church the One And Only True Church? by nevderek(m): 10:11am On Dec 07, 2012
To think, to imply that the catholic is the only true church would be the same as saying that Jesus died in vain, u know why?
Cos catholic church was for the jews (the roman) alone and Jesus never died for the Jews alone, He brought salvation to them first (Rom 1:16) but from the onset, His desire was to save the whole world, as he reiterated in the parable of the kingdom (Acts 13:24-)

After the ascension of Jesus, there was no catholics, no protestants, no pentecostals!!! The apostles broke bread from home to home and that was service for them..

And something remarkable happened, Jesus spoke out of heaven to Saul of Tarsus (Paul), who was persecuting the christians, and sent him to take the gospel to the Gentiles..
Then of course, all the Jews had was their synagogues of worship, but the church Jesus died for was yet to start officially..

Peter was sent to start a church with the jews ( and since he obviously didnt want to have much to do with the Greeks, a church started by him wouldnt really be welcoming to non Jews) and Paul was sent to the rest of the world and he started more churches than Peter ever could dream of.. All the 7 churches God spoke to in the book of Revelation someone pointed out earlier were not catholics, they were churches started by Paul..
Paul, even though He was not with Jesus on earth was the greatest of all the apostles. so if u really want to look at it the form of things, Paul's churches would be the greatest of all..
If the Roman's catholic church were to be the only true church, then automatically, Jesus died for just the Jews and you and me had better faced our ancestors traditions and gods cos heaven no be for us.
