Yes Nigeria is corrupt and there are other not so corrupt countries that Obama did not visit. Rather than people bothering with the fact that Obama did not visit Nigeria what needs to be done is for Nigeria to be fixed.

I'm glad it was held up in Ghana. See how well planned and classy those politicians are.

No story of heat exhaustion, no story of dehydration etc. Or robbers hijacking Abuja to kidnap Obama etc.

Infact, Ghana gives a better perception (from the pictures) of a better governed country and a better vision of what Africa is really like and ought to be. Better than Nigeria would have done, with all those one kobo politicians we have appointed in the office.

this is rubbish. I doubt you can write more than 2 lines on why Ghana is better than Nigeria. The idea that Obama's visit was "well planned" in comparison to Nigeria and the politicians were classy is nothing but bogus rhetoric. Even Abacha put up a better show when the pope visited Nigeria. Many of you were still crawling that time so i'm not surprised we get posts like this.

What has heat exhaustion or dehydration or robbers to do with anything? How is Ghana a better governed country than Nigeria?

The only reason Ghana was chosen ahead of Nigeria for this visit was purely political. As bad as Yar a dull is nigeria's economy still dwarfs that of Ghana by miles.

WOW!!! All this hoopla because the man chose to visit Ghana and not Nigeria. GOSH!!! and I thought I am one of the few on here with free time for BULL~~~ lol

President Obama is BLACK, he would never have been kidnapped in Nigeria, cheesy I think its WHITE (or ALBINO) that is the problem grin

Obama didn't visit kenya and Nigeria for a reason. fraudulently elected governments.

you had basically no point. Neither did you indicate politics could be the reason ghana was selected ahead of Nigeria. you mentioned irrelevant "issues" like classy politicians (whatever that means), planning (as if Nigerians cant plan), armed robbers.

Pls read Bawomolo's one-liner. It contained more points in there than if you converted your post into a 100-page novel.

So David do you think besides the fraudulent election in Nigeria that both Ghana and Nigeria are similarly corrupt?
Re: Obama In Nigeria, Oh Sorry, Ghana! by Nobody: 1:20am On Jul 13, 2009
Obviously you need to check up on what "well planned and more classy than those politicians" mean.

Like I said before, it's better that the meeting washeld up in Ghana. You don't know why Obama chose Ghana, and neither do I.

But I've stated my guess and it's not required to be equivalent to yours.

Maybe it's Ghana that's always ending up on CNN for 419.

Or maybe it's Ghana that has its politicians dividing its citizens mony into several oversea banks.

Clinton visited Nigeria and left with an Agbada.

These visits are ceremonial.  we should be more worried by the rascals we have elected (selected).

I wonder ooo, lets hear the response.
Obama sees Ghana actually trying to rid themselves of corruption and move forward. This speech would have absolutely no resolute impact in Nigeria.

God bless you J. J. Rawlings. Africa will forever appreciate what you did that the likes of Mr. Ibramhim Babangida, Mr. Abacha, Mr. Abdulsalam, Mr. Olusegun Obasanjo, and finally Mr. Yardua never had to balls to do.

I am Glad there's a ghana in Africa.

but give us an idea of how "nigeria is to be fixed?"
Re: Obama In Nigeria, Oh Sorry, Ghana! by Terry1(m): 8:33am On Jul 13, 2009
I think that starts with us (the youth), we can make things right by first of all, we that are internet literates, lets wipe any thought of making illegal money online out of our minds. If internet scam (yahoozee among others, which is basically coming from the youth) is wiped out of Nigeria, that will be one big step to eradicating 419 in Nigeria.

If we sit down and think and search with determination and prayerfully, we can always see some legal business on the internet.

That is just one step of changing Nigeria. Its in our hands, its our country, its our burden, its our name that's in the mud.

What do you think?

I asked savanaha not you or is this savanaha with a different alias.

Well if you care to know my thoughts on your comment then i will tell u. I think it is crappy.

why? because:

The internet is a virtual reality. . .hello? When a society starts to use unreal exchanges, interactions and transactions in "cyber space" as an avenue for making a livelihood(an affluent one at that) then that society is already heading the wrong direction.

You say you are a nigerian?

Let me ask you. . .what exactly is your biological and indigenous historical connection to this corporate entity called nigeria?

Did Martin Luther King ever visit Nigeria?
Hate to be a conspiracy/unfounded rumour mounger but i think MLK's visit to Ghana played a huge role in obama picking Ghana.
We all know how he can't write a speech without mentioning MLK.

I doubt you can write more than 2 lines on why Ghana is better than Nigeria.

1. Ghana had a corrupt free election

2. Ghana elected the opposite party.

3. Ghana have a tourist attraction

4. Ghana's government is NOT as corrupt as Nigeria.

5. Ghana have a HOPEFUL populace

6. Ghana's schools are superior to Nigeria's.

and probably most importantly

GHANA'S CURRENCY EXCHANGES BETTER ON THE INTERNATIONAL MARKET THAN NIGERIA'S naira.

i think it's time we stand up and do things like living being, these our so called rulers are doomed,no body should expect something good from them!! yes do not expect good things from them because they themselves are not living in good condition, most of them are living dead after committing their souls to the devil before election for protection and power the devil is having his own payback by using them to destroy human race. obama please do not step foot in nigeria or you will be contaminated. let everybody look for a way to better his/her life and stop looking up to this people because they can't give you peace when they don't have peace, they can't give you freedom when they don't have freedom
