It will be better inside greenhouse where I will be able to control so many variables.

These tomatoes u cultivated open field?

Yes its beside my farm where I experiment with the bio fertilizer.Even the maize farm is beside my experimental farm.Nothing is waste when it comes into renewable.
I have experiment with plantain too and they are equally good on bio fertilizer.
Agriculture / Re: Generating Gas Through Biodigester. by obnelly: 10:36am On May 16, 2017
You can equally go into backyard Gardening instead of throwing away your biofertilizer.its a win win game.

Agriculture / Re: Generating Gas Through Biodigester. by obnelly: 10:32am On May 16, 2017
Bio fertilizer is one of the best organic fertilizer from your digester .Its good for cropping.

Pls do not expose yourself to high level of hydrogen sulphide in the anaerobic digester .Its could lead to serious injury or death.
High content of hydrogen sulphide could be found in the slurry underneath the digester. Do not allow anybody to enter into your digester tank without wearing the right gear.

As quoted will take this shape but the above head will take another design .This will allow for further repairs and maintainance when need be.I see this design in the picture as high in cost and doesn't give room for easy maintenance when the whole system is faulty or collapse.

Wouldn't know if its last year or so there were tonnes of water weed along long brigde berger area very close to slaughtering hall/ cattle market people were even walking on the water weed because it created a sort of cushion effect to discourage Archimedes principle. We said different things that the goddess of the river was angry. So capture the effect using their mobile camera but alas. This water weed contains the best fuel we could think of if harvested and process into biogas but unfortunately we allowed it to rot away.It could be a source of cooking fuel for people living in the riverine areas in the nearest future. So if we have anybody who is from riverine areas and can swim very well I will want you to stay glue to this thread or give me a call.
In as much as you can get this water weed you will always get fuel for cooking and heating your home.
Agriculture / Re: Generating Gas Through Biodigester. by obnelly: 10:08am On May 11, 2017
@Shakyriri, I will definetly do that.
For those who have kitchen waste too you can be part of this discussion as most kitchen waste end up in the landfill rotting away .
A plug flow anaerobic digester won't be a bad idea. You can contact me if you are interested.
Also if you operate backyard poultry farm like 300 birds capacity remember you can use the litter ( wet waste). To generate cooking gas.
With this you will say bye bye to kerosene and LPG gas.
People in the rural areas seldomly use this technology because they don't know much about how it works.By following this thread you won't regret to be part of us.
A broiler farmer called that he would like to use his broiler litters to generate biogas and ask if this is possible.
Yes its but we must find a way of separating the woodshavings from the poultry litters which include: faeces, feathers, feed, and some antibiotics properties from drugs.Note:Lignin will not decompose easily.
wood gasification/ pyrolysis (syngas)will be a better option when you find it difficult to separate the wood shavings from the litters.

You can see the woman loading the digester very close to the poultry pen and the blue bag is the over ground storage tank am talking about .Keep your tank away from
Rats, millipedes , lizard and scorpions. They prefer to stay very close to the tank and could cause havoc if care isn't taken.
The digester is 15 cubic meters while the bag should be around 9 cubic meters.

@ shakyriri , this is what I promised to show you during our discussion and I believe others too can benefit from it.I have been using it for over 3 years now and I do subject it to different weather condition.
It can be easily mend when torn.

shakyriri:

How much for the unit in picture and how much cubic meters of gas can it generate daily pls

As a matter of fact when an anaerobic digester is in the early stage the production is superb but as its growing older the performance keep dropping if maintenance is not carried out.Just like our cars if not properly maintain will not perform to its maximum output. Some impurities that are not organic can be mistakenly drop in the system and this can inhibit the activities inside the digester .Chicken feed contains some materials that will not dissolve .So we must be careful in our choice of design.

The set up in that tank can produce up to 0.4 cubic meters of biogas depending on the feeding substrates if the tank is up to 1500-2000 liters

That will be great.I hope its a red mud type you are bringing.
I will be available to give you helping hands when you are ready.

To sell biogas in bottles is good and very cheap but the cost is a bit capital intensive.you have to process the gas to 94/96% impurities free otherwise the hydrogen sulphide and water vapour content will do more harm than good when expose to air.
Biogas is good when you have everything onsite.
I will be working on chemical process method of removing impurities from biogas such as hydrogen sulphide, carbondioxide and water vapour .
If this is achievable we will have 90/92% clean biogas that will run engines smoothly to produce electricity.
Targus and others thanks for bringing this topic to nairaland ..
Agriculture / Re: Generating Gas Through Biodigester. by obnelly: 10:49am On May 03, 2017
Its possible to generate biogas from chicken manure 100% poultry waste without adding any other substrates this I have done before and it was a success.if you have the waste and other resources I have active bacteria that can help you to produce biogas in few days.

On going construction work. You may choose to construct below or above the ground level depending on the space available.

My question is can a regular gas cooker work with big as or not. If it can what's the easiest way to compress biogas.. and in a metal cylinder is there the possibility of explosion when left in the sun

Yes this is possible you just need to do some modifications .I have constructed, installed and generated heat and powered from biogas. Its really an interesting topic. If you are interested I can be of help.

No doubt the tripods we use for holding our dish seems not the best as it deflect some portion of the satellite signal rays away from the dish.Yours is the best as this pick the full signal coming from the satellite without any blockage.

I love your spirit brother .keep it up.

Thank you but I buried it immediately it died as advised by my vet, he advised I buy oxytet la to inject the three sick birds but because I have vaccinated twice, deformed twice, used antibiotics all within two weeks I'm afraid cos each time I use a vaccine or drug, one dies.

When such happens it means you have some weak/sick birds among your flock. When you vaccinate weak birds the chance of survival is 50/50.Alternatively if you don't follow the administration of those drugs/ vaccines you could run into troubles.
