Lawag3: You are wrong. Isreal had the following objectives: 1. Rescue the soldiers abducted: The IDF failed on that with the dead bodies of the slain soldiers released by Hezbollah at the end of the conflict. 2. Eliminate Hezbollah rockets: NOT only the IDF fail woefully on that objective, Hezbollah's rocket attacks actually doubled till the very end of the conflict. 3. Ground Invasion of Sothern Lebanon: Now this was the icing on the cake as it was here that Hezbollah practically destroyed the myth of the IDF's invincibility. When Hezbollah started knocking out IDF Merkava armour with Russian made Kornets ATGM, and Hezbollah thoroughly embarrassed seasoned IDF units like Matkal, Egoz, and Co, inflicting serious casualties while fighting stubbornly, then the IDF knew they bit far more than they could chew. In the very end Hezbollah basically won that war because they successfully denied Isreal of the later's strategic objectives. On the other hand, it was as a result of Isreal's failure that the public called for the resignation of Prime Minister Olmert and his Defence Minister. Anyway, I suggest you read up on the conflict. 6 Likes |

Neduzoma123456: Oh really? Have you factored in other costs or you think it's only wage/Salaries private schools? What of the administrative cost used to run the school? You know stationaries and Co? What about cost of providing power (public AND self generated) ESPECIALLY with diesel at N1,300.00 pet litre? How about cost of fuelling X number of school vehicles for transport service? And same vehicles, you have to maintain them, right? What about your generators? And there's the depreciation/maintenance costs? Oh...there's the the almighty LG/State/Federal MULTIPLE TAXS. Have you factored those? For a boarding school, you have to feed the children in your care EVERYDAY. Where do you think the money? It is equally fairly certain that these schools must either improve on their services or invest in new ones to stay competitive, hence new projects. Who pays for those? And other services I.e. garbage disposal, internet services, etc? The problem I have with posts like this is that most of you are totally ignorant about what it takes to run an educational institution. All I can say is that I pray you have the opportunity to build and run yours. Then you'll fully understand that it's not naively simple as you think. 3 Likes |

id4sho: What a load of bull dung. If you don't know much about running a private school, I suggest you don't talk about it. Have you factored the monthly wage bills, cost of power supply, fuelling of vehicles, depreciation costs, MULTIPLE TAXES, administrative costs, etc? Private schools are basically on survival mode. As for the teacher in question, she's not serious at all. If she's not happy, she can go look for a job someplace else. Simple. 1 Like |

I think our Air Force could've handled this with its transport fleet (C-130). I think NAF acquired a Boeing 737 a few years. Just fly out troops to different hubs/bases (Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, PHC). |

bidexiii: First of all, a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the Army for it's Air Corp. I'm truly elated for the force and Nigeria at large. That said, I have a few questions and reservations: 1. Why the very old BELL UH-1? Why not the BELL 412 that's equally used by the NAF? In my opinion, that would ease training, interoperability, and maintenance. 2. Another concern are restrictions the Americans may place on the procured helos? If we fall out with the Americans, you know how they are. So why risk it? 3. Why don't we go for mid sized transport helos like the Mi-17 transport helos that can pack a decent amount of troops for air assaults 2 Likes |

grandstar: This has nothing to do with the ego of one, but the arrogance of the western bloc who felt they could create security threat right at the borders of the Russian Federation despite repeated warnings. Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, the s@#t has definitely hit the fan. |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Putin Demands Ukrainian Troop Withdrawal In Exchange For Peace by ocelot2006(m): 6:18pm On Jun 15 |
AllTheWayUp: I think you should take up your own and do a little reading on the history of the region. First of all, Crimea has always been Russian. Second, this whole mess predates 2014. The west, led by the USA at the end of the cold war, CHOSE to expand NATO Eastward despite Gorbachev's plea and subsequent warnings by the Russian govt that NATO expansion ends at Germany. In 2007, Vladimir Putin gave clear warnings and red lines were drawn on Ukraine and Georgia during the Munich Security Conference. This followed the Bush led administration and NATO mgt considering Ukraine and Georgia as possible candidates for NATO membership. Again, did the west listen? Nope. In 2008 things escalated with the Russo-Georgian war, a war clearly instigated by the later with weapons and training provided, although in limited quantities. Again, did the west listen? NOPE. Within said period and 2014, the west instigated TWO colour revolutions in Ukraine, the later being the most brazen with the then Ukranian President kicked out of office in a western sponsored coup, an act that angered the industrial and Russian-speaking Eastern region of Ukraine, leading to riots that degenerated to a civil war. Then 2022 happens. Despite multiple talks and appeals for reconsideration, the west refuses to drop talks of NATO membership for Ukraine, forgetting that this was viewed as an existential threat to the security of the Russian Federation. Well, here we are now.... The Russians are not bluffing on this. They're ready for the long and the initiative is on their side, with the war of attrition in their favour. The Russians will get what they want, ESPECIALLY the Donbass. As the west has given the Ukrainians the go ahead, don't be surprised when Russian weapons begin to show up in western controlled territories outside continental Europe (eg Africa, Asia, the Pacific). The only folks I feel sorry are the Ukrainians because they'll be left with a large bag of kaka when the music stops (a destroyed nation, a depleted productive population, destroyed infrastructure, etc). South Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan definitely comes to mind. 1 Like 1 Share |

God1000: It's already happening the slow and hard way. The Russians are not backing down on this one. The Donbass region will definitely fall. As for Kherson oblast, 60% is already under Russian control. 1 Like 1 Share |

What's wrong with Eagle 01 (the Boeing 737-800)? Or the Falcons? Let them use those. Times are ridiculously hard right now, so buying a new plane will be seen as insensitive on the part of the Federal Govt. |

What a silly joke by the Labour union. How is the upload of workers' data retrogressive compared to the physical files presently used? If anything, the use of ICT equally helps fight corruption and helps weed out unqualified personnel. |
