Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Nobody: 4:38pm On Oct 28, 2021
Same here.

Medical request: Sept. 20
Passed medicals: Oct. 12

Still expecting a decision, and I'm optimistic it will end in praise in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

You can see where a part of the issue may be arising in 1st application you are self sponsored, second cousin, what happened to all the money he said he had before? That would be the question. Now as you stated you put pictures of your cousin but did you put his valid ID and also explain how you two are cousins. As far as the VO is concerned anybody can call someone their cousin. These are issues to be addresed. You and your cousin can be co sponsors. And if possible show statement for a year.

I submitted my own statement of account and his own... So I am to still pay and he will still assist. I submitted his ID, his CAC, his landed properties.... I took pictures of me and him. I told them how my dad sponsored him through school so he is just returning the favour. So I also put in my own statemtnof account I. Co sponsor as well.

congratulation u went for diploma COURSE

Frankalvinz:
Landing gist

Day of Travel - 30th Sept
Arrival Day - 1st Sept
Flight name - Royal Dutch Airlines (Lufthanza)
Stops - Lagos -> Amsterdam -> Ontario

I arrived at the Lagos airport at 5pm against my flight of 10:45pm, none of my bags were checked because my cousin knew some of the airport officials (note that i was carrying a lot of food stuffs), i weighed my 2 luggages which were approved. I was asked for all my travel Documents, School Documents, ArriveCAN receipt and COVID19 test result. I also had to fill one yellow card stuff with my details and submit to them. After all this brouhaha, I proceeded to my Flight gate, where i waited till my flight time.

The flight from Lagos to Amsterdam was approximately 12hrs or so (can't remember), we landed in Amsterdam where i proceeded to my next gate after series of checks from airport officials. Omoh, the Wi-Fi at this airport fast die, its free and you have Unlimited usuage.

We left for Canada after 3 hrs, omoh all their food tire me. I arrived at Canada around 12pm Canadian Time (5 hour behind Nigeria), did some checks after which we proceeded to immigration officers for our official study permits. After which we went to get our luggages (these guys manhandled alot of luggages, i could not even recognize one of my luggages after passing by it 15 times).
(This part is for unvaccinated travelers)
We proceeded for the Covid19 tests (register at Switchhealth.ca to avoid the long queue). After this, you would be handed the Day 8 home test kit. Then you're free to go to your choice of quarantine.

You can change dollars to CAD at the airport when you land, just don't change everything on you cos their rates are high compared to banks.

Note;
1) Please if you can get your Covid19 shots in Nigeria before coming over, DO IT! To avoid stress.
2) Register for your SIN immediately you get your study Permit, because you will need this number if you want to work.

Throw me with your Questions, if it's something i can handle, I'd let you know. Good luck on your PPR journey!

Thanks for sharing. Please, I want to understand the bank exchange rate that you talked about.

The official bank rate for Dollar to CAD is 1 dollar to 1.24CAD but at the airport they changed it for me at 1 dollar to 1.08CAD, I didn't have any choice because i needed to buy somethings i needed

My journey to canada started a while ago, i started researching about this journey in 2019 when i was in final year . On the 30th of June I got admitted to MUN for a thesis based masters program.

Then I applied for passport , normal Nigeria hassle now, i waited for 6 weeks.
Applied: 9th September
Biometrics: 13th September
Ppr: 28th October

Documents
* Sop: 4 pages , I spoke about my past experiences, my final year project and told them the advancement Canada has in the field of renewable energy. Mind you my research is in renewable energy. I spoke about my supervisor’s research works and what we intend to do. I attached letter of confirmation from my undergraduate professor who was final year supervisor and also my IT work place.
* CV
* Transcript
* Waec
* Certificate
* One year tuition fee
* Birth certificate and death certificate of family members
* Nieces birth certificate
* Letter confirming I worked in those places i included in my sop

* PROOF OF FUNDS
* Sponsor:
* My brother in laws 6months bank statements . With an inflow of 700million and outflow of 600million and a balance of 20KCAD which he deposited for my maintenance. He raised a bank draft to avoid lump sum deposits. And he deposited 500K to my account and made a remake: Study permit application fee.
* Affidavit of sponsorship
* Letter of sponsorship indicating he raised a bank draft . I submitted this 3 weeks after through webform
* CAC certificate
* Marriage certificate
* Land properties documents
Co Sponsor: My brother
My brother works in canada, 4 months bank statements of 33KCAD
* letter of sponsorship indicating he will sponsor me with 12KCAD yearly

* Birth certificate
* Biweekly payslips
Mother: although i didn’t indicate she is my sponsor but i wanted to show them she is established in nigeria.
* mother is a director in federal ministry
* So i added her promotion letter
* Land property documents
* 33kCAD pension bank statements. I didn’t add her personal account tho. I added this documents(land property and pension BS) on the 26th of October.
HOME TIE
* I am 23 years old and i no get any thing. I used my sister’s child( i am her godmother) add pictures as proof that i have been her mother ever since her mother( my sister)died during delivery.
* I said i am the only surviving daughter so i said i will come back to mother and my mother will take care of the child.
* I added my mother’s land property.

* Mother ( Expired US visa and valid US)
* Sister( Expired UK visa, KENYA, DUBAI)
Things i did differently; I applied using the IRCC portal not GCkey . For some reasons i couldn’t open a GCKey account
My brother applied over there for me.
Things i did differently SPIRITUALLY. I used his words. His word is yes and amen. I am a Christian and I declared it that i will get it

I am a believer and i used his words. I still remember this morning by 5 am i had a dream that I wasn’t approved . I quoted scriptures and countered it.

Hello house,

I know it's important for self sponsor applicant to show the source of POF. But for someone like me that owns a business, it's a registered business with CAC but the certificate I have is only "certificate of registration of business name" it does not show my personal name. My questions are:

1. Is this what Self-sponsor applicant who owns a personal business need to submit. (see example from picture)
2. As it doesn't show owners name, how will the Visa officer knows it belongs to the applicant?
3. Is there any other documents that need to be submitted to show I own the business?

Thanks in anticipation to anyone who likes to respond to this.

I will answer question one as is only business name certificate you can get when you register as an enterprise and one man business etc or personal buz...but assuming you register it a LTD ...you will be able to get certificate of incorporation, memart...etc.
And you should have an attached document it is also a CAC document showing your name and address etc..is always given together when you are given your business name cert.
So is a legal document you should be able to tender it..if you have your business name account to support it...

My house land purchase papers and electricity meter application letter ND light bill in my name to show proof.

I know I mentioned thing in my SOP that I didn't provide supporting documents for.
Mentioned I was living in my house and that I had another project that was 60% completed but didn't go further.

I used my wife and kids, parents and siblings, as well as an uncompleted building project as home ties. I only mentioned that wifey was working at so so place. I didn't submit her payslip, employment letter or account statement. In essence I didn't explain how they were going to sustain themselves in my absence.

I paid tuition deposit and submitted statement of 43k CAD. It was not enough to cover 2 years tuition but I explained that I do consulting for my clients and that working remotely I will still be earning locally. Any shortfall for tuition will be funded by the sale of one of my lands valued at quoted amount. (no valuation attached).

My only Travel history was Dubai for honeymoon in 2015. Mentioned it but didn't provide any supporting docs for that.

So many shortfalls but at the end, my God came through for me. I was already getting agitated and had ordered my gcms notes just on Monday.

My passport is already on the way to be stamped. The envelop has since been ready just waiting for the ppr request letter to send it. So immediately the golden letter arrived, I just printed and despatched.

Finally, it is not of him that runneth, neither is it of him that willeth, but of the Lord that showeth mercy. For those still expecting, your expectations shall not be cut short IJN. Amen

Good evening house.
I am about to submit my application for student visa.
My company boss is standing as my sponsor with full tuition to be paid next week and all supporting documents.
However, i learnt i need to show some funds in my own personal account.
I have a little over N3.6m in my piggyvest account with steady proof of monthly savings inflow from my Bank account bearing same name for over 12months
Also, about N2.8m in bank personal account which i spend from daily ( also this account sometimes received large sums due to the fact that i help people manage projects as an architect). Also this account has numerous transactions due to coming up wedding.
My question: Is it safer to use the piggyvest account alone which doesnt require explanations of how i got about the different transactions? Also considering the fact that my bank account balance can move up and down at anytime

Hi guys ,

Please is it possible to get admission with a study gap of 8years and what schools can I apply to ?
Yes you can, but the program would be a PG.cert program that is related to your work experience. If your work experience is related to what you studied in the University, Good for you, but if it's not, the bolded is your best shot.

Some supporting documents would be essential for your admission as well

Read everything in the links below

Potential Documents needed to apply for admission in a Canadian College for a PG. Cert program
https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/221#103080983

Its advisable you write a COVER LETTER and a Canadian Style Resume to support your admission, so you can show the reasons why you want to go for any of the above programs, cos even on your STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (SOP) for your Study Visa Application, you gonna be expected to explain "WHY SO SO PROGRAM AT SO SO SCHOOL"

See the link below for;

Canadian Résumé Style & Cover Letter Sample for Admission into a College for a PG. Cert Program (Find attached)
https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/17#102092733

If you are going for a Program not related to your degree, but related to your work experience, go through the contents in the link below (very important)
