Hahaha. U are right.

A British citizen already has the passport to travel back. He does not need to visit the embassy for anything to return.

These lil' boys are still learning how to lie

Selling properties and travel abroad for a greener pasture is the greatest mistake you will ever make.
Illegal or legal African immigrants hardly get a well paid job. They end up sweeping the streets washing plates and doing terrible jobs that they cannot do in Nigeria.
Wrong! Selling property is not really worth it, but if you migrate legally, you don't need to sweep the streets! You can go to school and get a decent job, you can do so many good things as a legal immigrant.

Depends on your foundation and what you learnt abroad.

My boy who was a Unilag graduate was sent back over 10 years ago. He went into real estate management when he got back to Naija. Though he had family and friends support when he land Naija. He already learnt working hard in the US. Going back to Naija was a blessing for him because he had grown up and learnt how to apply himself and take advantage of some opportunities.

This is not necessarily the same for everyone. Every situation is unique. Another guy I know found his way back as his daughter filed for his stay. Some guys I know are just surviving in Naija. Depends on your situation bro

people you help like give $500 or $1000 free dessert you when you need them? I find it hard when people do me a favor and realize I never reciprocate back or the person never benefit anything from me before.I feel uncomfortable, maybe because I hard anger issues cos if you hurt me I won't forget ooo but if you do me good as well, I won't forget.

God will help you since you have a good heart and help people in the past with one pure heart

This will be educating and inspiring, expecially for people who are suffering from depression caused by deportation.

Educating? Nairaland?

Look at the 1st 20 replies.

Does that look like a group of sound minds? Or answers to the main question?

Honestly bro, when you fall you go know who really get your back. I'm in a similar situation at the moment, although I came back because my contract expired and uae stopped issuing visa to Nigerians so I couldn't renew. My story dey one kind because e just be like I go waste my time for that way, over 2m I saved, I used it to invest in naija but the business crumbled within some months and i lost a lot, I was still in uae when I gave someone money to invest in that business sha and I regret it till this moment. I didn't plan to come back now, I wanted to stay for 2 more years so I can save more, unfortunately the visa issue happened. Came back like a month ago, naija is boring af and worse still if you no get money. Nobody send me again, even those wey I dn help alot in the past, well nobody owe me anything sha. I hope I don't fall into depression at this point because help is not forth coming but I believe as life dey, hope dey.

Someone I knew was deported to Nigeria. After he spent a month, he went to the British Embassy to report that he's a British Citizen and wrongfully deported. When they checked out his story, it was true.

They paid him compensation and flew him back 1st class.

When he returned we asked him why he didn't say anything at the deportation centre.

He said why should he talk when they would send him to Nigeria for free!! Free vacation.

That person was obviously a liar, and he was able to lie to y'all because you guys were/are ignorant of the immigration process.

Hnmmm, two things that affected deportee is question of how to bounce back from crash, the second one is shame,

how to manage this situation is to find a way of not returning to area the deportee resided before he/she relocated abroad.

Go and resettle in another area of one of your relatives or friend that can assist for awhile.

Think of what you can start to do as means of living, if you're graduate, look for jobs or better still find way back to return to the type previous hustle before you traveled abroad, but if it's an illicit business, ignore it and look for legal means of living.

Try as much as possible to absorbed the pains you'll encounter on the mission to rebuild your life, if you're patience with set up of plans, it may take you two or three years before you will fully get your self financially, you need to understand that you're starting from zero.

Let me tell you, deportation is not a sign of failure, it's an experience that stand as a teacher towards the project of a brighter and rewarding future only if deportee think on how to grow success (legal means) and not by jumping to success (illegal means).

Guy, your story is incomplete. What was your purpose of going to the States in the first place? So many loopholes in your write-up.

Hang in there bro. The downfall of a man is not the end of his life. It is the challenging times like the one you are currently going through that serves as a stepping stone to greatness for many a great men. You will rise again as long as you stay positive and don't give up on yourself. Try and get something doing in the meantime, no matter how small. It's not easy to be a man anywhere in the world. Just don't give up ok? Cheers.
