Mumu is not possible. They are using oil from Other states and region to develop ekiti, oyo, osun Ok. Stop playing stupid. If it was possible to make such stupid laws, you will not get any share from the oil from Niger Delta. Stop envying successful men and women in lagos state. If you want them out, tell your senators to call for referendum. Other regions will gladly support this. Then you can have jagaban as your president for life

ONDO STATE IS PART OF NIGER DELTA!!!!!

Lagos was already the commercial/financial hub of West Africa, Seirra Leonians, Liberians, Ghanaians, Malians etc already started migrating to Lagos way before the discovery of crude oil.

Just like smelly environment in abia, they don't even have government Secretariat , like smelly onitsha environment.
They say lokoja is the worst state capital in Nigeria, is it only occupied by yoruba indigenes or are beautiful towns and cities in Southwest done by outsiders?

Long overdue and kudos to them for finally getting it right.

The bane of Yorubaland/Yorubas has always been the type of liberalism this idiotic generation of Yorubas tend to practise - due to trying too hard to be sophisticated. However, you don't embrace such an ideology when there aren't laws that protect the interests of indigenous people. Especially, in a country like Nigeria where there are two nomadic ethnic groups - Igbos and Fulanis - who thrive on encroachment without regards for indigenous people/culture. Embracing that type of liberalism is idiotic.

They need to build on this and extend it to Igbo Saros like Chinedu Rhodes-Viviour. This clown goes around talking about "Our Lagos" when his forebears were sold into slavery in the Bight of Bonny by Aro-Igbo people and his people settled in Opobo. And he had the audacity to talk about someone coming from Ijebu, when 30/40% of Lagos is Ijebuland. That monkey needs to be banished to Igboland where his people are from originally.

Also, Lagos doesn't need the humongous population currently living there and laws should be passed to systematically decongest the city. Less than 30% of the people currently living there pay taxes - so what's the point of having the ridiculous population that puts unnecessary stress on infrastructure when half of them are destitute and they contribute zilch to the development of the city?

For Lagos to become a world class city that will attract tourists - the population has to be reduced drastically. And they need to explore laws that will make it happen whilst protecting the rights of the indigenous Lagosians. Hopefully, this is the first step in making that a reality.
Well said, Lagos and the SW does not need oil money

This is a great move! If you are a genuine Lagos indigene reading this, I must commend you for allowing others do in your state what they will never allow in their own states.

I hope those who will formulate the so-called laws are people whose ancestorial homes are Lagos State though. A Lagos indigene has never been governor of the state since 1999 and they all kept quiet. Those indigenes tolerate a lot of NONSENSE from other Yorubas!

I spoke my mind

Most especially the Man from Osun that claims he built Lagos and leave Lagosians for the Awori's

Even an Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Ekiti man will never call Lagos no man's land and no Lagosian, Oyo, Ekiti will ever call Osogbo, Ife, Akure, Abeokuta, Ijebu no man's land for any reason even if he owns a quarter of the place! Respect begets respect.

The funny thing is that there are Yorubas in that same Delta state (itshekiri and Olukunmi) and Yorubas are not claiming Delta state as one of their states.

Itshekiri land is even more strategic to the Delta than Asaba.

Dodoyo..

There was nothing like Edo people when Ilu-Awori had been existing. It used to be Igodomigodo. A local town with few population..

When Oranmiyan reached Igodomigodo, he became their king but he couldn’t stay to rule as he wishes. He said they were always angry(Ibinu). Hence the name Ilu-Ibinu. Oranmiyan eventually left but had a son, Oba-Eweka before leaving.

It was Oba Eweka that changed the name Ilu-Ibinu to Ilu-ibini. He was the first Oba of Ilu-ibini(Benin). All the development of the great benin started under Oba Eweka! He expanded them and made them a force to reckon with by building Benin empire!

It was Europeans pronunciation that changed Ilu-ibini to Benin. Go and read about Oba Eweka Dynasty!

Before all of these, Ilu-awori has been existing!

I'm certain this is unconstitutional. But we shall indeed see.

There is nothing unconstitutional in what the house is saying. They are not stopping any Nigerian from leaving in lagos or carrying out any legitimate business but they are saying nobody should be allowed to claim ownership of the state under any guise because Lagos indigenes can not claim ownership of any part of eastern Nigeria. I hope this is clear.

Lol, oil money is the most overrated crap out there. And there's only a drop of oil in Igboland, so why are you crying over the next man's property? Ondo produces more oil than Igboland and I'm yet to see an Ondo person talk about oil money. Only Igbos who have no oil harp on oil money all the time. SS folks don't even fcck with Igbos like that.

Anyway, Lagos generates more money than it receives - from its ports and other places. So, oil money is inconsequential here.

even we southerners know how crafty them igbos are. They think other tribes are supposed to be fools. Here in asaba, they have bought most lands one area they call bonsaac. Now they are fast relocating from east. One useless woman was on call, saying asaba was as good as no man's land as igbos have bought so many lands That's how they start. The surprising thing is that they are relocating south cos of high level of insecurity in d east, especially cos of ipob they clapped for at d beginning. Now some Igbo's are capitalizing that since Igbo-speaking tribes live in delta, then its Igbo's state. Some are trying to promote anioma agenda,,,, of creating out a state comprising the Igbo speaking tribes, with the intention of claiming Igbo state across the Niger, meaning east/Igbo is no longer land locked, creating avenue for their criminal brothers to extend their skullduggery from east to south, forgetting that the Igbo-speaking tribes like Ika people are from benin. Asaba/ OKpanam are from Igala, kogi. me as an uroboh man cant go to east, after buying swaths of land, then say na no man's land. Na that day them go finish me, even take all the lands I buy. In fact, no other tribe can say such In Igbo land (east)

Don’t worry about other Yoruba’s. You can’t compare yourself with them because you are simply not even from the region at all. Go home and clear out IPOB first. Make it hospitable so you can stay there and not let people be disgracing you up and down. As the nuisance and destructive people you are. People will respect you when your home and people are something to respect. You no get shame at all.
