After others develop your so called land, you want to make law that will favour only your lazy citizens...ungrateful people

Well, times are changing... Let those developers shift focus home!

Why leave your region in ruins and make a paradise of another tribe's region??! Makes no real sense!

No matter where I travel and reside, no matter the country, I will never see there more of a home than my place of birth and origin!

“Going forward in this wise, we are going to employ all legislative instruments for the support of the indigenes of Lagos.

“There would be laws and resolutions in the areas of economy and commerce, property and titles and we will reverse all that are reversible to protect the interest of the indigenes.”

I don't even know why this was announced. Just make the laws, implement it and give them shockers. There's power in SILENCE.

Best comment so far!

Our leaders talk too much tbh!

They should learn to shut the fvck about some things!

Why leave your own land undeveloped and go and develop another man's land?
Isn't that insanity

Every individual Nigerian has an ancestral home in a specific ethnic group and geographical region in Nigeria. That factor will always be there, we only have to manage it in a fair and respectful way. You can't bulldoze or insult your way into issues like this. Even America, the champion of democracy, has several restricted zones based on tribe. Your land can't be YOUR land, while another person's land is No Man's Land. Live, thrive and respect boundaries.

Hahaha the point is obvious. All states have their identity. Lagos has its identity and now it is going to enforce it under the legislative schedule for states under the constitution.

Anyone who is in lagos will feel lagos and its yoruba identity and culture. Not just its nightlife business and commerce.

I am not even lagosian but I assert the rights of any culture over their land, anywhere in Nigeria.
of course everyone, state has his or her identity..

The law shouldn't jeopardize human rights.

That will be unacceptable

It depends on those women o

Chevron cannot locate it's headquarters in South East because of vandalism, violence and intolerance of the citizens. So they prefer a peaceful and accommodating host which we all know Yoruba is first in Nigeria undecided kiss kiss
They are shouting oil companies ..Exploration of crude oil is only a branch of their operations. According to Chevron's website, Chevron is into refining, transportation, supply and trading, lubricants, chemicals, and additives.
Now, is only exploration enough reason to move their headquarters to Lagos?

Mumu is not possible. They are using oil from Other states and region to develop ekiti, oyo, osun Ok. Stop playing stupid. If it was possible to make such stupid laws, you will not get any share from the oil from Niger Delta. Stop envying successful men and women in lagos state. If you want them out, tell your senators to call for referendum. Other regions will gladly support this. Then you can have jagaban as your president for life

so for example California or new York should make a law stoping USA citizen from another State, or foreign national from residing and impacting on the economy of the State?? You are so dumb

I repeat again; it's high time we tell ourselves the truth in this con3 ... Because nations are not built are on hate, sentiments, and tribalism

A USA citizen of any state is a non-indigene. You can’t make laws favouring indigenes as an invader or refugee, you would be shooting yourself in the foot by doing that.

This is a “so dumb” person schooling you grin

Long overdue and kudos to them for finally getting it right.

The bane of Yorubaland/Yorubas has always been the type of liberalism this idiotic generation of Yorubas tend to practise - due to trying too hard to be sophisticated. However, you don't embrace such an ideology when there aren't laws that protect the interests of indigenous people. Especially, in a country like Nigeria where there are two nomadic ethnic groups - Igbos and Fulanis - who thrive on encroachment without regards for indigenous people/culture. Embracing that type of liberalism is idiotic.

They need to build on this and extend it to Igbo Saros like Chinedu Rhodes-Viviour. This clown goes around talking about "Our Lagos" when his forebears were sold into slavery in the Bight of Bonny by Aro-Igbo people and his people settled in Opobo. And he had the audacity to talk about someone coming from Ijebu, when 30/40% of Lagos is Ijebuland. That monkey needs to be banished to Igboland where his people are from originally.

Also, Lagos doesn't need the humongous population currently living there and laws should be passed to systematically decongest the city. Less than 30% of the people currently living there pay taxes - so what's the point of having the ridiculous population that puts unnecessary stress on infrastructure when half of them are destitute and they contribute zilch to the development of the city?

For Lagos to become a world class city that will attract tourists - the population has to be reduced drastically. And they need to explore laws that will make it happen whilst protecting the rights of the indigenous Lagosians. Hopefully, this is the first step in making that a reality.
