did you thumb print?
Unless your Biometrics were taken when you were denied back in 2002, then Tzetze fly's advice should be embraced with immediate Alacrity,(dont even sniff@ the US embassy or you'll fetch yourself a Life Ban) but in the absence of that, just apply freshly like it were your first US Visa application, indicate its your first application.
Alot of things have Changed since "02 regarding Database Management, so you might just get away with that.... "hopefully".
The Good thing is your travel history may come to your aid.

No thumbprint or biometrics was taken as at 2002.

You can then give it a shot since your biometrics were missing. But what will you now fill in the column where previous application to travel to the States is asked..?

house am goin for my interview on monday with an expired i20. Dou the school sent me a mail. I intend to print the email and show it to d vo along side with the i20. This is how the email looks like. Dear obi since u cannot get a date until the 8 of april we wl have to differ ur admision till july and send another i20 for you. Hope it gets to u before ur interview. Pls is that email strong enough. If not pls how should it look like to increase my chances?

From all indication, you work and earn income this is a good start. You also have social tie to the country in form of marriage and two(2) kids a good sign as well.

All you now need to do is provide your previous travel history if any, to be favourably seen in the best light by the CO.

Meanwhile, your job duties and job specifications are a necessity to satisfy the CO. Make sure you're well prepared in this area.

Furthermore, your sister cannot sponsor you as you are an adult and should be able to cater for yourself without soliciting for funds from relatives.

Your 1.2m should serve you just fine. Endeavour to prioritise your budget.

All the best.....

@christianmark,

You ended up jamming your message with someone else's making it all inconsistent. You're new with the site i presume..?

To answer your question, you better change your F-1 visa interview appointment date from 08/04/2013 to a convenient date after you receive your new i-20 from the school. Don't give the VO a reason to deny your application.

That is what they (VOs) are looking to do......
Re: Usa Visit Visa by christianmarks: 9:24am On Apr 05, 2013
so goin with an expired i20 even with a letter from the school indicating that they will send a new i20 is aLready a failure at the embassy already huh?

Remove the comma sign after 155 that should give you 0-9 digits.

The US Embassy in Abuja is @ Plot 1075 Diplomatic Drive, Central District Area, Abuja. The easiest means is to take a cab from any where in Jabi, Wuse, Maitama, Kubwa etc all in Abuja, and the driver will convey you to the location.

Just in case the cab driver fails to know the place, tell him Defence HQ close to AMAC. The US Embassy is just off the road opposite the Defence HQ.

The Ghana High Commission is to your left as you proceed towards the US Embassy with the Chinese Embassy sharing a wall with the Ghana High Commission.

You can't miss your destination from this point.....

Hi All,

Congrats to those who recently got their Visas. I am so happy for you guys.

I need a quick advise please: Like I said in my previous post, I will be inviting my parents for my graduation ceremony, we already booked an appointment but the mistake I made while scheduling the appointment was that I chose "renewal" of Visa instead of first time applicant. I actually thought it would be renewal because my dad was in the US on a B1/B2 Visa like 4 years ago...so I just thought it was gonna be renewal because he will be applying for the same type of Visa again(I didn't read the instructions carefully....my bad!!)

Now, I am planning to cancel and re-schedule the appointment. My questions are;

- How many times will I be allowed to cancel and reschedule with a receipt number?

- If I cancel, will I still have the choice of changing the "renewal" thingy to first time applicant?

- Does any one know how soon it is to get a date for a new-time applicant?

Thank you all.

To answer your queries:

1. I believe you're allowed to use that receipt to cancel and re-shedule your interview appointment thrice. Others here can correct me if am wrong. However, why would you make entry mistakes thrice anyway? Try reading the instructions carefully before filling your forms.

2. Yes, you have the option of changing any info you desire as long as you fill a new form. Each form has its own unique barcoded numbers.

3. Dates for new interview appointment can be available soonest unlike the past where you wait close to 90days or more....

If your wife is a Legal permanent resident,it would be extremely difficult to pay her a visit,as you might not be able to overcome the burden of proof contained in section 216B.Co's are usually not able to trust that one can "visit" one's spouse and return. The truth is that you might have to wait until she becomes a citizen(Usually after 5 years on a Green card) and files for you, before you are able to visit her or immigrate. This is usually the case. When was she issued with a green card?

Filing an I-130 petition for you means you might have to wait for several years before it is approved. But when she becomes a citizen, you qualify to join her immeadiately, and do not have to join a wait line.Either ways, you are not able to be issued with a tourist visa as evidenced by your immigrant intentions, considering your I-130 petition.

like how many years would take before the approval of an I-130?

The combination of high demand and limits set by law on the number of people that can immigrate in a year means you might have to wait for several years,so I am not able to reel that out off hand.Of course you can track the status of your application on the USCIS website.

Me: California
V/o: reason for travel
Me: to attend my uncles wedding
V/o: how long has been he been in the us

Me: I forgot to ask his age( I said 37)
V/o: have u travelled outside Nigeria
Me: no
V/o: sorry u do not qualify for a visa now.

I noticed to many people were denied was it because it was Monday.
You shot yourself in the foot by answering that question. You could have said you were not sure, although the co expects you to know every detail about your host. The Co's dont condone that, and there could be stiff penalties. The age question of comes up during interviews ,and once one bungles it,its over. The Co would have accessed your uncles bio from their database(Dont forget they issued your uncle a visa) before the interview. And,If you couldnt provide the correct age of your own uncle, how do the expect the CO to trust that you are a genuine visitor?Lets turn the tables:If you were the CO,wouldnt you have granted the visa?Bottom line:You gotta be very honest with US Consular Officers. Its crucial.

Sorry Obiagelli for the disappointment, I don't think is because of the date, didnt she tell you your reason for denial?
Again which US embassy did u go for the interview?
What is your profile....like married, age, documents you went with, and your ties to Nigeria
Tell the house maybe we can sort out your reason for denial.
Again in everything give thanks go God.
