Either built from the scratch or assembled, I must say they did very well... but I can't see the pictures of the students beside their project

still trying to understand the wonder in these cars that weren't manufactured from the scratch!

Moreover, i've seen these times without number.
once again, there is no auto manufacturing company in the world that produces ALL components of its final product.

is that true? i can't believe it, i was very happy to hear that. where are all those people that said Nigerians can't make things happen fast? anyways , they kinda right, they will go to europe or the states. this why we need the thorough knowledge of self, GOD and the devil (i didn't talk out of context).

You don't know how block headed covenant university students are grin.... That school is just a dumping ground for rich kids. Majority are dumb.
so block headed, that CU students have emerged highest scholars at the past 2 PRESSID scholarship consecutively. Better dont antagonize excellence when u see one, cos if u do- be sure to attract nothing but failure and mediocrity.
Its thumbs up CU - and even more rep to Nigeria and the black race in general.

I was at the Canaanland yesterday and before the end of the service, Oyedepo announced what wonders the covenant university students are performing.

The red colour car is built to use power generator set which will make it reduce fuel usage. It will use just 1 litre of fuel per 60 kilometer. The ash colour car is fantastically built with three powerful batteries that will make it store power and re-use later, much like an inverter

The keke napep is very beautiful too, it can reverse.

Below are the pictures.

Young lady were was the interior & body of the car built¿

Don't tell me that they borrowed
The body of the car from TATA.
The tire from Hyundai.
The battery from Sanyo inverter.
The engine from Keke napep...

Cos if this is the case, then i can authoritatively say they have done nothing.

I can authoritatively tell u that they built this automobiles right from d scratch. Every piece of it. No assembly or whatsoever. A friends brother is a member of d team who worked on the car project.

Op, u forgot to mention the trash bin they invented too. They need all d waste disposals to create another invention they are working on presently. CU is going far I must tell you. I didn't believe his brother until I heard the announcement in church yesterday.

Don't sound so authoritative. I am happy seeing this project don't get me wrong. Its a giant stride in a good direction but if you a an engineering graduate, you will understand what building a car from the scratch means and is.

I understand what they are want to achieve and really building the body from the scratch is not necessary. What I praise is the concept and that is what they did. Or are you saying the generator and batteries were also built from the scratch.

My take from this laudable project is that we don't have to rediscover Newton's Laws. Principles are already existing, let's just apply them and the government should fund it.
Welldone Covenant University.

Propaganda grin...... Oyedepo wants more students in his covenant university, so what did he do? He bought new engines and everything needed in a car, called a mechanic and they fixed everything in place.

And Here he is claiming his students built the car from the scratch.....

Quote me and regret it
I can see you where there while they fixed it?Or you introduce the Mechanic to him? Bad belle.

Even if that was what they did I feel
it is still some form of a hands-on exposure that the students are getting. They can surely build upon that as they develop as engineers etc.
You know that in some Universities, sadly, the engineering students get no exposure to any practicals ... it's just theory.

This was exactly my thought.

sorry bro, that vehicle can be constructed by a mechanical engineering student of any higher institution across nigeria.
Your idea that wealthy pastor oyedepo bought the vehicle and the parts is just one of our usual innate pull-him-down syndrome

let's put that aside for now

I studied Mechanical Engineering and trust me, i can almost describe the inner working of that vehicle without seeing it since all the huge front engine in a vehicle (excluding the nice to haves) does is roll the crankshaft.

Every other movement becomes a derivative of the crankshaft
if you can figure a way to move the crank, you are free to discard the engine block, pistons, injector, carburetor, and the battery since power can be generated off the crankshaft's movement.

Note also that the generator itself comes with piston, engine block, caburetor, and an electrical energy source (or chemical energy in the case of i pass my neighbor)

to sumarize this, the dude bought a car, removed the efficient engine, replaced it with another less efficient engine that will help trade high fuel consumption for some serious noise in the hood, fear of the unknown when reaching 120 km/h, visible exhaust smokes and some special attention from neighboring vehicles.

I trust naija police, "can we see your vehicle VIN"? grin

thats a good work engineer. we need more of you guys

To invent is good ,but the auto part genertor engine batteries etc shown above are not made in Naija It's like assembling part's of other vehicle together. We should stop deceiving ourselves.

Dear,it is a big deal. I will tell you why? If you understand why projects are done in a university, you will get this straight. That noiseless solar powered tricycle should be put on project tour/exhibition which should be attended by government agencies and private investors. What Covenant have done is to tell investors that we can also look at it like this and produce cheaper cars. If any investor is thinking of investing, he would rather go to a CU and review this project because they have brought it out and would never go to your school. Not because the project done was not laudable but because our governments are not funding and monitoring schools properly. This trumpet blowing is a big deal. I hope our government will take a good cue from this.

Speak for yourself please. We seeing advancement from visionary and purpose driven leadership. Instead of you to ask or VC's at the Ivory towers , our Rectors at the Polytechnics what they are doing with billions allocated yearly to them, u expressing beef for CU that doesn't even have capacity to absorb all university bound students from even the smallest local government. we should emphasize that d critical mass at the public universities do same so we dont continue over reliance on China

We should ask for improvement and more innovation from these kids and not come here with 'bring down mentality',that only feeds our hatred and bitterness for people who try to make things work in Nigeria.
