Yes thats Orlu gate. You were wrong on the road though
Thats an inner street in your community. Can you recognise this Church? The last pix is Orlu/Mgbidi road. All pix were taken around your villa.

I don't think I know the Church o!
If its an inner street in my community, then it should be Omuma road. The road also leads to Mgbidi, you'll pass towns like Akata,Umutanze,Amazu and even Omuma. But Mgbidi is the final bus stop.
Am I right? embarassed

Orlu is developing but Owerri has gone far ahead of most Nigerian cities and is almost un-Nigerian in looks and layout. I'm particularly impressed with the rate of new and solid housing projects by both Government and individuals. As roads are being constructed so are these structures springing up with the road.

Orlu market under construction.

Yeah, that road is in Orlu central. Rochas really did a wonderful job on that road. Opp that market is Ecobank close to the building materials section. Also Abagworo, has the Umuna road leading to Nkume been competed. During my visit early January, I noticed that work was going on there. I was really impressed with the quality of the road. Any recent pics.

I have really realized my mistakes. I was kinda angry with the bad pictures being posted, which was actually not a true reflection of my Imo. Still, I appreciate the lessons learnt by Abagworo. Just like Spider - of the Enugu thread - the best way to shut the mouths of haters is to deny them what they crave for - confrontation. Just keep posting the good pictures of the state, counter their propaganda with meaningful developmental strides and you see them fade like chaff in the wind.

I did not make use of Orlu/Ideato road but the Orlu/Owerri Road seems the major focus this year as work seems to have persisted despite the rains. It has reached 70% completion. As you can see from these pictures taken from your town of Umuaka, a lot is still left but the signs are there that work woll be accelerated when the rains subside. Notice UBA Umuaka branch.

Nice colourful pictures.

But I just hope Rochas does something about the deplorable state of roads in Owerri.

Reality? There are available photos of Princess Hotel, Okigwe rising up above first floor. Now use a photo to show your "reality" that Prince Hotel, Orlu is undergoing construction, or it has gone beyond those foundation blocks laid by Speaker Uwajimogu about three years ago.

For the second time here: still waiting for Abagworo's photo news of projects that are of utmost importance to Orlu people:

1, The public university facility in Ogboko, Ideato South.

2, Orlu urban drainage - duct to channel flood waters in Orlu urban to any nearby valley -a job started by late Gov. Amadi Ikwechegh.

3, A functional sports stadium in Orlu.

4, Supply of pipe-borne water in Orlu - the most motivating item that made people here rally for Rochas Okorocha in 2011.

wow, this is nice and am full of smiles n happiness seeing a developmental and some carnival pix frm imo state's folks...
This shows that aesthetic and development had conglomerated some city in owerri, orlu town and okigwe urban...
as someone who had travelled to d whole southeast nigeria,
i wil like rochas to bring more development in okigwe..
because the last time i pay visit to okigwe b4 goin to ebonyi state,it seem there are less development in okigwe town..
hope am nt derailing d thread?
anyway it s gradual step..i cant wait to see mbeise, nekede, and mbano grow like orlu nd okigwe town too.
to me i stil want more development and more tarred road in whole places in the east.

I remain faithful to the entire igboland cool.

That flyover looks abandoned or maybe waiting for the rains to chill. I therefore reserve my comment till dry season sets in. This year had so much rains.

There is dearth of pictures or activities from Okigwe despite being a proxy university town. Maybe I will also take out time from my busy schedule and visit there like I did for Orlu.
